Major Motivation Among Saints
December 26th, 2014This one should help Bucs fans sleep well tonight.
There will be some serious motivation on the Saints sidelines Sunday —Â for the Bucs’ most meaningful game since the season finale against New Orleans in 2010.
Yes, the Bucs need to lose.
Bucs fans have suffered enough to earn the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. We deserve it. And Joe doesn’t want to see it choked away with a win for no good reason. (Those who missed Joe’s passionate, reasoned plea for defeat can read it here.)
Saints running back Mark Ingram has quietly had his best season, and he’s just 93 yards from his first 1,000-year season, despite missing three games earlier in the year with an injury.
The man labeled a first-round bust by many has emerged. And there’s no question he’ll be going all out for that yardage. His rookie contract is up after the game, and he can become an unrestricted free agent. Saints beat writer Evan Woodbery, of NOLA.com, dove into this subject.
But Ingram isn’t a typical aging free agent. He just turned 25, and is only one week older than Robinson, who will turn 25 on Sunday in the season’s final game.
Until this season, Ingram had also never been a traditional No. 1 back. The Saints have preferred a so-called “running back by committee” approach.
In his first three seasons, Ingram averaged 9.6 carries per game. In 2014, he’s averaged 17.2.
Joe has no doubt Ingram will be crazy motivated, and offensive lines love to have 1,000-yard rushers on their resume.
This is beautiful music to Joe. The way Drew Brees has coughed up the ball this season, it will be beautiful if the Saints can move the ball on the ground.
Damn, Joe can taste that No. 1 overall pick.

the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be one of the first teams to meat with receiver Duron Carter. Carter is the son of NFL legend Cris Carter.
Carter went undrafted in 2013 and went to play in the CFL instead, where he put up 124 catches for 1,939 yards and 12 touchdowns in two seasons. he can be signed in February.

That does sound good joe, Hope Evans, VJ, and Ingram all get there 1000 yrds and we get the first pick in the draft.. Oh Ya we can do it…

The saints will strategically want to lose because they know the potential gold mine of picks the Bucs could end up with if the Bucs land the #1 pick. Look for an awful/undisciplined game from both clubs

Joe, I can also taste the first overall pick. It tastes like Crab Legs and I’m pumped.

Seriously if it comes down to a kick Murray will make it. That kid is great.
We need a Ravens-esque type game.

Both teams trying to lose the game and not look that way. Nobody will ever know who tanked hardest. The loser I guess.
