After the best part of an entire season voting Little Confidence – I have now voted Confident.
The Defense has turned a corner, I cannot believe the quality of some of the play DESPITE having our cornerstone LarryD in the mix. Lansanah is playing out of his mind, Gerald will never give up, Spence is making a mess on the OLs and Banks and Verner are opportunistic.
Whether we win another game this season is up for debate, but I am now confident in this team moving forward because our D is getting it and playing up to scratch.
^^ I agree, the defense is getting better. These things take time.
Look at Marvin Lewis, how many times did people say “Fire him” because the Bengals were terrible. Well, look at them now, they may not be the best team in the league but they are consistently getting the playoffs. (of course all those top draft picks helped 🙂 )
The Bengals haven’t won a playoff game since 1990. Marvin Lewis has done a good job not making them terrible anymore but he has accomplished nothing of significance. Using Marvin Lewis as an example of why you “stay the course” is not a good example. We wouldn’t be happy with a coach who has 0 playoff wins 12 years would we? I hope not.
ya look at the bengals! really wow the bucs should have beat them. the bengals suck and so does lovie dovie! and marv lewis who will never see a superbowl. just like Chicago with lovie they lose first playoff game 90% of the time. confident? please!
also how can anybody have confidence in a coach that made these moves with players and personell. a man who picks a career backup QB. among other dumb moves.
Marvin Lewis is the definition of slightly better than average but not good enough (pretty much what I expect is the best case scenario for Lovie as well). Personally I would take a guy like Tom Coughlin (whining about the victory formation play and all) who sandwiches crap years between a couple Super Bowl wins over a guy like Lewis who consistently gets his team to the postseason for the inevitable first round loss to a wild card team.
So almost half of the respondents are confident in a 2-10 coach?
The same “deep thinker” who didn’t see 12 men on the field for two consecutive plays, then says…. “others should have seen that too”. What exactly does this guy do?
Guess what? The head coach of the 7-4 team saw it.
How can Lovie demand respect from his players? He used the terms stupid and dumb to describe the 13 penalties and he himself missed the one that cost us the game.
If the HC name was Rah or Schiano there would be full outrage in Tampa. The fact that this outfit turned over 50% of the roster and were arguably wrong about every single decision makes it even more outrageous. Where are the billboards? Where is the media scrutiny that was eager to trash the failures in the previous 2 regimes? Do-no-wrong Lovie and his little Lapdog Licht getting a pass from fans and media. More shame…
Do no wrong Lovie and his lapdog Licht. I Love that!
Still confused! Are you asking about this year or overall? How you can be totally confident in a 2-10 team is beyond me so I must be missing something.
Put things in prospective….how many personal changes? Losing your offensives coordinator at the start of the season! Not sure about their personel choices yet, jury still out. Some disapline issues ( an OC would help there i assume). We have what looks like an emerging defence (as stated in Joe’s following article) looking more like we expected. Lovie said he learned a lot pondering in his basement, I assumed that meant having a good OC to compliment his D. Hard to recover from losing you genrral so early in the battle.
Lovie has now had 5 OCs in 10 years. It’s bizarre people think he’s just gonna find some genius OC. His history suggests whatever OC he gets will be gone in 2 years (most likely fired by Lovie to buy himself more time).
I still have no confidence in Lovie for the same reasons, McCown, OL is the same except for EDS, the plays, doing the same thing over and over with the same people with the same results.
Everyone is under the assumption that Tedford was going to be good. Let’s examine that. He got fired from cal bc he wasn’t winning or scoring many points, hes never called a play in the NFL and most importantly he was hand picked by L. Smith. We all know how those picks work out. I had my concerns about him in the ps but now it’s mute. All along I kept thinking -Norv Turner was available the whole time-. FML.
No confidence (absolutely 0) – 2-10 and even in the 2 wins they were not convincing wins in my book…. The Bucs had a lot of issues in those games as well and with the help of those teams having bad days, the Bucs benefited…
The Redskins benched their starting QB afterword admitting they though he wasn’t good enough and the Steelers, well the Jets beat them also, what does that tell you…
It seems to me that so very few are willing to hold Lovie accountable of his constant mistake making… From letting players go that now start on other teams while those who lovie replaced them with are struggling to starting a center in this past game who has NEVER snapped a ball before… Lack of discipline of this team causing so many penalties…. INEXCUSABLE from a HC that is SUPPOSED to be a credible HC… He is Not showing it….
Looking at Lovie’s body of work since being hired as the Bucs HC, I would not be surprised if next year ends up being 4-12 or 6-10 and those wins may be more to playing vulnerable teams rather than the Bucs actually improving…
Not worth spending hard earned money that could go towards the wife and kids just to watch this team get owned by whoever they are playing that day!…. Get a “REAL DEAL” HC that can make this team winners and then I’ll be confident!
I dropped to no confidence from little. This bad offense outweighs the defensive improvement because if you can’t score you can’t win. Plus another start for McCown just nauseates me.

demote lovie to D coordinator
fire frazier, fire licht…..
replace licht with a sober GM with brains and bring in a head coach with some balls

Let’s see, the season didn’t really start until November, so basically Lovie is 1-4.
Not bad at all!

So much for not caring about our collective opinions!!!
How ’bout a Winston poll…..

I downgraded for the first time all season to little confidence. 12 men on the field that lost them the game did it for me.

I got a better question: How much confidence do you have in this franchise?
ask me, I’d say less than I have in Lovie.
