Ryan Kerrigan: Turnover Machine
November 12th, 2014Bucs coach Lovie Smith always preaches turnovers. Win the turnover battle and you likely win, Lovie says. It’s a football axiom as old as the game itself.
What was true in 1900, is often true in 2014: Turnovers will kill you.
It is the same edict former Bucs commander Greg Schiano demanded. Unlike Lovie, Schiano’s players responded to this.
However, in Sunday’s game with the Redskins, it is Washington forcing turnovers that the Bucs will have to concern themselves with.
Take Redskins outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan. The fourth-year veteran from Purdue has become a takeaway machine for the Redskins. He is on the verge of setting a Redskins franchise record with 14. He tied the team record of 13 in their last game against the Vikings.
Kerrigan is also one sack from tying his previous season-high. He currently has 7.5.
If the Bucs do not account for this guy on every play from scrimmage, Kerrigan could single-handedly blow up the Bucs offense.

Lovie’s offensive line is going to put this dude in the pro bowl single handily.

The o-line single handily puts anyone and everyone in the pro bowl.

Turnover Machine: That’s what I call Josh McCown.

Yeah Joe, the same Kerrigan that our former “rockstar” GM passed on.

Sure about that? Bucs picked after the Redskins that season. Man, the hate people have for Dominik, now they invent s(p)it.

Bad move to pass on kerrigan, to pick Clayborn…no luck with this team whatsoever!

They didn’t pass on Kerrigan! He was gone when the Bucs picked. Geez.
