Jameis Watch: Open Thread, FSU-Miami
November 15th, 2014Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion James Winston, the pride of Florida State University, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.
It’s Joe’s regular nugget on the Jameis Watch, celebrating the best quarterback to wear No. 5 ever in the state of Florida.
Tonight on the Jameis Watch, you get to bang it here with all your comments through Florida State (9-0) vs. Miami (6-3). Feel free to talk about players you’d like to see the Bucs draft, and whether you think Winston looks better than the Bucs’ quarterback of the future.
Kickoff is 8 p.m. on ABC.
November 15th, 2014 at 8:29 pm
OH so here is where I can say stuff about Jameis Winston because it pertains to MY TEAM OF 38 years without it being Deleted??????????????????????
So Sorry I posted about my team yesterday Without it being About Said Article
Yeah…………….I got nothing to say
November 15th, 2014 at 8:31 pm
It doesn’t matter diddly that JW looks like the best QB to ever wear 5 in the state of Fla if he is not allowed to suit up due to Off the Field behavioral issues. The real world is not within the confines of FSU
November 15th, 2014 at 8:32 pm
How ’bout that poll of JBf readers
Winston
Mariota
Another QB
No QB
Trade Pick
Bret Favre
Bring Back Freeman
November 15th, 2014 at 8:32 pm
FSU vs UM… It’s A Thugs Life.
Go Noles, Go Famous!
November 15th, 2014 at 8:35 pm

November 15th, 2014 at 8:39 pm
@Joe…can you please make everyone of gatrbuc17’s comments await moderation for us? He loooooves it!
Joe..you gotta watch out for this guy. He can get volatile.
November 15th, 2014 at 8:40 pm
Ha ha ha ha
November 15th, 2014 at 8:41 pm
I can’t hurt anyone over the internet though 87
November 15th, 2014 at 8:43 pm
I SO wish the Joes would go to a Livefyre set up
November 15th, 2014 at 8:44 pm
87…………I sure could use you on the site that I write for. We need Bucs fans.
November 15th, 2014 at 8:46 pm
gatrbuc17…everyone wants me. I’m famous ya know.
November 15th, 2014 at 8:49 pm
No Im not kidding. We are trying to rebuild this site called IllegalHit.com. It used to be called Watercooler Sports before there was a split into two different sites. I write for the Bucs mostly. Some NFCS stuff and an every week competition called Five Loser Locks.
November 15th, 2014 at 8:57 pm
Im going to watch the LSU game next door with free Captain Morgan’s and Elk Ribeye. Latex!!!
November 15th, 2014 at 8:59 pm
gatrbuc17…yeah I know your not kidding. I actually think I’ve heard of that site before. As everyone can tell I like to talk. I talk (type) a lot. I consider myself a fairly decent writer if I actually try. In high school I wanted to be a journalist when I grew up. I actually wrote 2 fictional books when I was in high school that my lit teacher raved about.
I never did anything with them. Pretty good stories though. I’ve wrote a few fanposts on BucsNation in the past that got quite a few hits and comments.
I just have such a passion for this team. They can punch me in the face, kick me in the stomach and body slam me, but I still keep coming back for more.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:04 pm
gatrbuc17…Yikes I’ve been recovering from a nasty hang over all day. So no liquor for me tonight. I’m watching this game sober on the edge of my seat like usual.
Does anyone remember or go to the Choke at the Doak game? FSU vs UF, I think it was 1994.
That was the BEST college game I ever went to.
Wikipedia : The Choke at Doak was a 1994 college football game between the Florida State Seminoles and Florida Gators. The game is one of the most memorable in the heated Florida–Florida State rivalry and tied the NCAA record for the biggest fourth-quarter comeback. In the matchup of 9-1 cross-state rivals at Florida State’s Doak Campbell Stadium, Florida squandered a 28-point fourth quarter lead and allowed the Seminoles to tie the score at 31 in the final minutes. Because the game occurred before the advent of overtime in college football, it ended in a tie that would be regarded very differently by each respective fan base.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:05 pm
Let’s go Canes. U
November 15th, 2014 at 9:06 pm
Go Canes!
November 15th, 2014 at 9:09 pm
I was there LIVE and missed 2 of the scores during the comeback. Once I was taking a pee and heard rumbling like crazy. So I ran back up to my seat and asked everyone. What the hell happened? They told me what happened. So then I said okay I’ll be right back I’m going to have a smoke. Then about 3 minutes into my smoke, the rumbling started again. I threw my smoke down and ran back up to look at the scoreboard and saw FSU scored again. I had to rub my eyes and check again.
Danny Kannel was the FSU QB at the time.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:10 pm
Will a fight break out tonight? Stay tuned.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:11 pm
Perryman is gonna get some tonight.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:12 pm
I have not seen ONE Miami game this season.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:23 pm
Man Winston is having trouble throwing the ball. Good defense holding those receivers.
November 15th, 2014 at 9:26 pm
Where is that guy always barking for Dak Prescott? He had a big game today. 😉
November 15th, 2014 at 9:33 pm
Beautiful pass
November 15th, 2014 at 9:54 pm
@ 87…………….I will publish any article you write if you want to submit it there bro.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:06 pm
Jemeis Winston is a thug.
The bucs do not need a JaMarcus Russell in training thug to lead this team into the toilet.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:18 pm
who doesn’t like dak prescott?
November 15th, 2014 at 10:20 pm
@lurker.
I actually like him quite a bit. He is rough around the edges though
November 15th, 2014 at 10:21 pm
Miami freshman QB looking better than FSU QB
November 15th, 2014 at 10:22 pm
9 of 16 for 74 yards so far for “the Best QB ever to wear the no. 5 in the State of Fla”
November 15th, 2014 at 10:24 pm
We are already in the toilet. You can thank Liar Smith for that.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:24 pm
7 of 11 for 211 so far for true Freshman Kaaya against a better team.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:26 pm
Don’t know what the hype is about Winston, nothin special
November 15th, 2014 at 10:29 pm
Bucs4life JUST made 87’s hate list for life
November 15th, 2014 at 10:31 pm
LOL UM just showed Zero respect for FSU by that 4th down play
November 15th, 2014 at 10:35 pm
If UM scores another TD I don’t see the Noles coming back in this one. FSU’s defense has no answers.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:37 pm
The football Gods are smiling on FSU again.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:41 pm
That’s Winston’s biggest problem. Over confidence.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:42 pm
What?……….What? …………..was that another forced throw by Winston in College that resulted in an INT that the last six of his forced passes would in the NFL?????
Just Say NO to WINSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 15th, 2014 at 10:42 pm
Another bad throw, think we are better off with mariota
November 15th, 2014 at 10:43 pm
Sorry 87
No offense to you.
Winston is NOT our answer.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:45 pm
Not so fast my friend.
There’s still another half of football to be played. This is typical of them anyways, but they better figure out a way to stop Miami’s O.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:49 pm
Yes……..there Are 60 minutes of Football. However we are not talking about a college team with one of the best recruiting classes in the Nation. We are talking about One QB that has to put a team on his back. GOD Knows our team needs a guy like that.
Winston doesn’t look like that guy
November 15th, 2014 at 10:50 pm
Lol! Don’t know who Bucs should draft since I’m a business owner and not a football geek but Ido know If my son grows up with some drinking, drugs, assault, stealing, cursing in public places problems then im sending him to Fl state where I know he won’t get into trouble and will probably be a hero!!
November 15th, 2014 at 10:51 pm
Greene was double covered, all they needed was 3 points on the board and I knew that ball was going to get picked off when he released it. There was no need to throw it to Greene, even though that’s all they really have for a WR. The rest are all freshmen.
I knew they wouldn’t go undefeated this season. I just don’t want the loss to be from a college in state.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:53 pm
Hell if they lose a couple games. I might not even need to worry about him coming out. He might end up trying to stay in college…if he can. If that happens and these young kids get another year under their belt with Winston, FSU will be dangerous as hell next season.
November 15th, 2014 at 10:56 pm
gatrbuc17…FSU and Winston have played night and day better in the 2nd half for most of the season. He’ll put them on his back in the second half, but FSU’s D needs to step up.
@Kingpin1…drinking and drugs? So now your just making stuff up and adding it to the list?
November 15th, 2014 at 10:59 pm
Drinking, drugs, ran over a grandmother with his car, and gave the pope the middle finger….
November 15th, 2014 at 11:00 pm
Lol Kingpin.
I used to own a business in Tampa but now I live in Montana. Kudos to you sir. It is hard if you don’t have the right niche there.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:03 pm
The second half is here. Time to turn up the heat.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:05 pm
So you ask, would you pick a 4 year graduate with over 3 years experience at QB in the NFL or a talented guy partly through his second year in college. This is really a ball busting inquiry. Cannot possibly be serious. Amazing how many dingbats think they have the clue.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:08 pm
Hey 87
Here is a hint for you. FSU wins in the 4th because they have probably a top 5 Bench in the Entire Nation. They are going to meet a team with a deeper bench. Winston cannot stop that
November 15th, 2014 at 11:09 pm
Winston doesn’t look like that guy, all these folks talking down on a college kid as if Russell Wilson or some of these guys never threw bad passes but I bet your all the same idiots who think Glennon is the guy, the guy who seems to miss open receivers just like Freeman did but atleast that guy could throw down field
November 15th, 2014 at 11:10 pm
FSU sloppy on both sides
November 15th, 2014 at 11:15 pm
Jameis is the only one playing for the Noles. Nobody can catch or hold onto the ball right now. In addition, Jumbo has been out-coached all game. Lovie is familiar with that
November 15th, 2014 at 11:18 pm
@ruggyup
That is why Glennon should be starting. No matter where he is on the depth chart next season, him getting a full 2nd year under his belt with full-game experiences only helps him and this team down the line.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:20 pm
SO…………………..Let us Bucs fan talk about how badly we need Winston.
And let’s rejoice in how all of a Sudden he could have us looking like the Patriots or even the Browns
November 15th, 2014 at 11:28 pm
I really like Winston. I think he will be a good pro. If the Bucs choose him he might not last behind our line. If we want to get better quicker the right thing might be to trade back for more picks.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:33 pm
@ John. No thank you sir. I don’t really need to list our last few years draft picks, do I. It’s time to take a stab at our franchise QB. Of course Bucs would likely pass on the best option which is Winston. This young man knows how to read a defense. He’s polished and has the package along with the killer instinct. I’ll take the real #5
November 15th, 2014 at 11:40 pm
Glennon huh? Still have some sour grapes over the quarterback of the future? Moving on.
November 15th, 2014 at 11:47 pm
If Winston leads this team back for a win tonight, will it shut some of you guys up about his abilities? Probably not. But, you can also add the fact that no game is out of his reach. No matter how much they are down, or how bad they have been looking. Hes a winner.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:05 am
Damn this kid is one helluva competitor…Can’t wait to watch him in the playoffs
November 16th, 2014 at 12:06 am
No matter what anyone says, I’d rather have Marriota bcuz I think he’s a much better athlete and also a more accurate passer than Winston. He’s got way more potential for success in the NFL, IMO. (And that’s not even bringing character and intelligence into the equation). It’s a no-brainer, IMO. (the decision, that is)
November 16th, 2014 at 12:06 am
We better draft Denzel
November 16th, 2014 at 12:09 am
C’mon D…Get’em
November 16th, 2014 at 12:10 am
Don’t sleep on Sean Mannion
November 16th, 2014 at 12:12 am
Cmurda, no need to see the list. I know it well. If we take Winston I’m good with that.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:13 am
If Miami loses it is because they changed their game plan. Stupid 2nd half by them.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:14 am
Miami’s grey face mask, would be sick….. w/an all Red BUCS helmet.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:14 am
Marriota vs Winston
Who’s a better athlete? Marriota.
Who’s a more accurate passer? Marriota.
Who can read defenses better? Marriota.
Who has a quicker release? Marriota.
Who has a better record? Winston, but barely.
Seems like Marriota is hands-down the better choice overall.
Anyone arguing against that is either a biased FSU fan or gamut seen Marriota in action. That guy is an amazing athlete. He kinda makes Winston look like a slouch, to be honest.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:16 am
*hasn’t not gamut (swipe texting error)
November 16th, 2014 at 12:17 am
I hate the Canes, but Denzel is a Beast
November 16th, 2014 at 12:18 am
HELL YEAH
November 16th, 2014 at 12:19 am
Damn
November 16th, 2014 at 12:19 am
Finally called holding.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:19 am
Is me or Does the ref. Looks like Lovie..lol
November 16th, 2014 at 12:21 am
Cook has insane explosion
November 16th, 2014 at 12:21 am
Damn Cook is fast.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:23 am
Now, just need that FSU D to hold.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:26 am
87′ is that you?
November 16th, 2014 at 12:27 am
Put sum Heat On’em
November 16th, 2014 at 12:27 am
Man Miami has a lot of true freshmen playing. Gonna be nice watching them next year.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:28 am
Good Play DeMar!
November 16th, 2014 at 12:30 am
Dide Ramsey just chop the QB, run 6 yards. And Almost Pick it off?
November 16th, 2014 at 12:31 am
Did Ramsey just chop the QB’s arm…. run 6 yards. And Almost Pick it off? Wow
November 16th, 2014 at 12:31 am
FSU defense is MVP of this game if they stop this. They’ve come up big all night at the right time.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:33 am
And done
November 16th, 2014 at 12:33 am
HELLLLLL FU#K YEAH!!!
November 16th, 2014 at 12:33 am
Jameis to the Bucs.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:34 am

November 16th, 2014 at 12:34 am
Ramsey..smh… Good Lawd Son
November 16th, 2014 at 12:34 am
It is Now completely official. Jameis Winston IS THE Answer for the Bucs
just a bit of sarcasm for your sat nite
November 16th, 2014 at 12:35 am
Yes Sirrrrrr #1
November 16th, 2014 at 12:35 am
So that’s how a defense is supposed to play? Hummm interesting.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:35 am
Conservative play calling killed Miami. Nice blocked FG and two fumbles saved FSU. Good Defense.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:37 am
True freshman Kayya looked good.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:38 am
U know what they say, gotta have Heart …To Win Money!!
November 16th, 2014 at 12:39 am
@Skyline Crew
He earned my respect 2nite. Kids’ a gamer
November 16th, 2014 at 12:41 am
Winston= Legend
November 16th, 2014 at 12:41 am
Gotta check out that Arizona St/Oregon St. game
November 16th, 2014 at 12:41 am
Scared money don’t make money
November 16th, 2014 at 12:42 am
@DB55
LOL…Tell’em
November 16th, 2014 at 12:45 am
Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew AGAIN!
My heart can’t take this college football season much longer. I hope it’s over soon.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:49 am
I don’t think the Noles can be beat. Every time I think it’s all over, they pull it out again, but I can’t take this much longer. Either dominate or just lose already.
Just kidding I can never wish them a loss. It’s just that I take anxiety meds (it’s a stomach thingy)and they weren’t working tonight. My heart was pounding once again.
I might have to skip watching the next game.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:51 am
@Skyline…The Noles have a lot of freshman as well on both sides of the ball.
November 16th, 2014 at 12:55 am
i’ve seen plenty of mariotta and he sucks!
did you see his games last year? he sucked so bad. this year is better, not much. who has he played? he lost to arizona and he sucked there…on him.
last 2 years he got outplayed by stanford. what defense does he read? he is a system qb and he is SOFT!
November 16th, 2014 at 12:59 am
Late night PAC-12 games are always good for beer-swilling. 🙂
November 16th, 2014 at 1:02 am
My cuz plays for ASU Davier Dickerson
November 16th, 2014 at 1:05 am
You must not be watching him them Lurker. He is the leading Heisman candidate. He played with a bum knee last year as well. He will be the 2st QB off the board as well. Oh and he took 20 credits last year in order to get his degree early. Intelligent kid with great athleticism.
November 16th, 2014 at 1:06 am
1st*
November 16th, 2014 at 1:10 am
lurker…I concur Mariota is a system QB.
November 16th, 2014 at 1:12 am
deminion…my cousin Ryan Benjamin played LS for the SB Champion Bucs.
He’s currently a high school coach at River Ridge(Pasco County). He has his team in the playoffs and they just won there first playoff game last night against Tarpon Springs.
November 16th, 2014 at 1:15 am
Winston with a bum ankle is still better than anyone in college! What a competitor!!
November 16th, 2014 at 1:17 am
My mom told me they had a massive fight on the field after the game. Some kid from Tarpon got taken to the hospital by ambulance.
I thought holy hell I missed all the action.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:00 am
OMG I MISS SCHIANO
I hope you find him and insert head in the Turdus Maximus. I saw Mariota play in high school. Mariota is an excellent QB, but he is not better than Jameis Winston. Mariota is without a doubt a class act.

Joe take it down if you must.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:13 am
Mama there goes that man again.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:17 am
All jokes aside he does look like the child of Byron Leftwich and josh freeman. But, FSU recruits a lot better than the bucs meaning he needs players around him with heart like luvmybucs said earlier. Great game though, I’d pay to see that.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:18 am
@joe
Boise st never disappoints. Plus that blue field, luv that.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:19 am
Love it!
November 16th, 2014 at 4:28 am
Great post Joe…. He’s a winner, form your opinion later. #LOSERS
November 16th, 2014 at 9:58 am
Anyone that believes Mariota is even close to Winston does not know a shred about football.
November 16th, 2014 at 10:06 am
Anyone that watched last night and didn’t know Winston…they still don’t. Last night was all D and that RB from FSU. Man he was fast. Winston hasn’t been as good this year like last. Maybe he has too much going on in his head.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:47 pm
So much for the Thigpen experiment….next man up
November 16th, 2014 at 2:49 pm
Michael Johnson… Bwahahaha. Dude is a joke and so is L & L for throwing big money at a guy who should be a rotational lineman
November 16th, 2014 at 3:58 pm
There we go. Finally heard Goldson’s name.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:59 pm
Whoops. wrong thread.
