Jameis Watch, Open Thread
November 8th, 2014Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion James Winston, the pride of Florida State University, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.
It’s Joe’s regular nugget on the Jameis Watch, celebrating the best quarterback to wear No. 5 ever in the state of Florida.
Tonight, the undefeated Winston and Seminoles try to keep their national title run alive as they host Virginia, a team that shut down Brent Hundley and UCLA earlier this year. Bang it here for all your Jameis thoughts as the game proceeds.
Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. on BSPN.

Get over this turd, he’s a cancer to FSU and he’ll be a cancer to any organization who picks him. You can’t be serious if you want this idiot, and frankly these posts make me question your sanity. Mariota & Cook might need a year, but they’re better prospects than the idiot you’re raving about. Did the lessons of Josh Freeman teach you nothing?

Put down the pipe Buddy Christ.

There is no doubt that Jamis has some football potential,.. that said, there is potential for him to blow up a team with his off field issues as well. He is a very risky use of a high 1st rd draft choice. We need stability, (I know, thats what lovie was suppose to bring us) and Jamis does not promise that.
November 8th, 2014 at 7:39 pm
@Joe
you were wrong last year on the QB and you will be wrong and wishing again.
sorry joe, only the best tuna get to be starkist
November 8th, 2014 at 7:41 pm
How ’bout that poll of JBF readers on the QB……without it, I’m guessing
Winston 6
Marriota 17
Other QB 6350
Trade Pick 177,651
Now, Joe…..without the poll…..my guess is as good as anyone….
November 8th, 2014 at 7:46 pm
Bryce Petty & Lovie are both from Texas……humm!!!!
November 8th, 2014 at 8:12 pm
Joe
My problem with hin is not his football skills, is that his other skills will keep him off the field. If he grows up, is lead, mentored, scared, I don’t care what to keep him on the same level as Mr. Brooks from FSU, then go for it.
November 8th, 2014 at 8:37 pm
Going for another first half hat trick of INTs. More point shaving?
November 8th, 2014 at 8:38 pm
Pass!
November 8th, 2014 at 8:45 pm
Nice to see Texas A&M upset Auburn, who fumbled away two late chances to win or tie.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:05 pm
Well, we get to see Mariota tonight right after this game. I would rather have him over Winston but we better pick one of them.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:21 pm
Here’s a thought for you. Doug Martin and Mike Glennon traded to Cleveland for Johnny Manziel. You heard it here first.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:23 pm
Absolutely NOT!
November 8th, 2014 at 9:29 pm
Slightly altered for the dissenters and disbelievers….
Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion James Winston, the pride of Florida State University, future quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.
In my best Ric Flair impersonation…WOOOOOOOOOO!
November 8th, 2014 at 9:37 pm
OT
OG
Center
with the first three picks
November 8th, 2014 at 9:37 pm
Only 2 ints in the first half tonight.
This guy just might be Josh Freeman’s brother.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:40 pm
Bored?
Go read about how everyone’s favorite milf Lisa Ann shamed Michael Del Zotto via twitter…. lol… great read
November 8th, 2014 at 9:46 pm
Why do you people still want Manziel? The kid can’t read a play book.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:49 pm
Why don’t the bucs consider trading Glennon and their 2nd round draft pick to Cleveland for Johnny Manziel?
Really, the browns don’t want him, and the bucs said they really liked him in the offseason.

“Only 2 ints in the first half tonight.”
One of the INT’s was tipped ball that went sky in the air about 25 feet. It was easy pickings.
November 8th, 2014 at 9:56 pm
People assume Glennon has trade value, Martin’s has unbelievably dropped as well so quickly. I can’t see the Browns trading a 1st round pick for those 2,
November 8th, 2014 at 9:58 pm
Perhaps I should change my name to JameisIsABust?
Or maybe Marriotta To Tampasota

FSU plays a college level offensive system. No way can an NFL team run 4 wide receivers most of the time.
All they do is overwhelm the outmatched defense with 4 all American WRs.
Only in college can you do this.
November 8th, 2014 at 10:22 pm
The longest yard producer is waiting for Winston to be incarcerated so we can have another remake. He would be the star of the prison team.Winston doesn’t protect the ball well enough in college to be considered a top tier QB in the NFL.His character alone should prevent most NFL teams to consider him.He is and will continue to be an embarrassment to collage athletics.
November 8th, 2014 at 10:23 pm
Watch Winston’s quick release on drop back passes. Like a surgeon. He takes his licks too, but he gets rid of it and finds receivers open.
YES he will do just fine with the Bucs O-line….
November 8th, 2014 at 10:25 pm
Winston is developing a little bit of an Eli Manning face when he’s complaining.
November 8th, 2014 at 10:26 pm
Dude Winston is so over rated. I’ve seen like 12 poor throws in a row. We need to wait for our luck-Andrew that is.
November 8th, 2014 at 10:31 pm
@Joe
I would love to see Ant. Harris #8 UVA. Great character kid I’ve known him since he was 12 years old. Sure tackler good ball skills, instincts etc.(in nut she’ll he won’t look lost playing center field or a deep half) Tell Lovie to draft him please thanks
November 8th, 2014 at 11:50 pm
You guys are crazy that think mariota is a better QB than Winston. I would prefer that people say that he is better than what the Bucs have at QB right now. That whole running QB to set up the pass thing is getting old. Cam fractured rib not the same, RG3 two banged up knees not the same, Russell Wilson without weapons just bottle him up and he’s not the same, Colin K. the 49ers offense is nothing to brag about. LOOK if the Bucs don’t get Winston then they should trade back and get extra picks. Anybody watching this game right now? Mariota depends too much on his legs if he gets a knee injury thats it for him.
November 8th, 2014 at 11:57 pm
Bad o-line and one weapon on offense and FSU still won. Everyones favorite (Mark Sanchez) I mean Marcus Mariota Hasn’t led his team to the red zone in the first half. Winston, NUFF SAID!
November 9th, 2014 at 12:09 am
I don’t know who the best is but I just think we need one of them. Mariota definitely is a dual threat who can actually throw unlike a certain Cleveland QB.
November 9th, 2014 at 12:27 am
Does anybody else think it is a little premature to be arguing about who we should pick in NEXT years draft? I mean we don’t even know what our draft position will be. I remember the 2012 draft and all the talking heads had us picking Trent Richardson or Morris Claibourne. Hmmm…how did that work out?
We’ll probably end up with Andre Debose, the return guy from the Gators because we know Lovie loves his return guys. I agree we need a QBoTF but will Winston even be there when it’s our turn to pick?
November 9th, 2014 at 1:33 am
Watched Marcus and Jamis tonight,… I’ll take Marcus!
November 9th, 2014 at 2:40 am
Draft Mariota.
November 9th, 2014 at 2:46 am
Winston, he won’t be a problem off the field. No fraternities
November 9th, 2014 at 5:13 am
Nothing against the young man, and what he and FSU have accomplished – he’s just a long way from being able to bring stability to a NFL.
He’s very young, the pure spread system he runs at FSU is nothing like the hybrids that have seen some success – heck – not even Chio Kelly runs this offense every snap…and he’s a designer of the system.
Don’t take this wrong, but this kid is not a Kaperneck, or a Russell Wilson…he’s not even a Nick Foles at this point. He’s a big, strong-armed K-I-D…who has benefitted from the talent around him. He’s not the type to improve a losing team comprised of inferior talent..
..right now, he’s a little young/unprepared to risk a high draft pick on.
That’s just the facts.
November 9th, 2014 at 6:51 am
He is not ready for the NFL. Heck, he is having a tough time in the ACC. Sorry, I’ll pass … no pun intended.
November 9th, 2014 at 8:32 am
Dak Prescott
November 9th, 2014 at 9:14 am
Trade back. Fill some holes.
November 9th, 2014 at 11:46 am
It’s simply amazing how stupid some people are. Winston is having trouble with the ACC? He’s never lost an ACC game. Yes, he threw two picks last night but if you know anything you can see that the first one was the result of a freshman receiver stopping on a route which led to DB being somewhere they shouldn’t have been. If he runs the route properly he clears the area and the result is completion to another WR for a big gain. The 2nd pick was a tipped ball.
He is playing with a lot of freshman and inexperienced players along with a suspect line and still hasn’t lost a game. For all you Mariota fans, can you please name me all the successful read option QBs are in the NFL?
November 10th, 2014 at 12:59 pm
I see that my comment regarding Harmon Wages is gone. Wonder why?
December 2nd, 2014 at 7:24 am
Winston is the best thing for the bucs, mariota runs the ball to much RG3 DIDNT TEACH YALL A lesson ,Winston is the best QB in the draft and if the bucs pass on him they will regret it
