“I Think It’s Given Me More Confidence”
November 20th, 2014Time off with a bad thumb — and waiting to see if Mike Glennon would be the quarterback of the present after being named quarterback of the future — was great for Josh McCown.
McCown jumped on SiriusXM NFL Radio this week and explained.
With Movin’ The Chains hosts Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan, McCown talked about how getting more involved studying the Bucs offense and figuring out what needed to improve has helped him on the field.
“I think it’s given me more confidence as I play,” McCown said.
McCown serves up plenty of input to coaches, he said, and acknowledged he has his brain picked regularly by the brass.
The pessimistic Bucs fan might wonder why a veteran quarterback like McCown needs confidence — confidence gained by sitting out games. But Joe’s sure it’s just more evidence of the fallout of losing the Bucs’ offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford in late August.
What a mess that needed to cleaned up. Joe’s not excusing what happened in Atlanta, or McCown’s terrible decision making through his first three games, but Tedford left a rough situation nonetheless.

McCown got better O line protection against the Skins than any I’ve seen for MG to date. The Redskins better change their name quick because the medicine man has put a hoodoo on that team.

Redskins should never bow to the pansy arse PC police. All Hail the Redksins!.
MG had his chance he failed. He is what he is a backup. Its a good living maybe not as good as the ebt card life but its a good living none the less.
McCown might be a keeper as a coach but not a qb. Draft Winston!

When I read the headline I was sure the answer was “Tossing it to Godzilla!!”
