The Quiet Assassin
October 10th, 2014When NFL talking heads discuss about the top quarterbacks, rarely is Joe Flacco mentioned. For reasons Joe cannot figure out, Flacco is the NFL’s version of Rodney Dangerfield. No respect.
In Flacco’s now seven years (including this season), he has guided the Crows to the playoffs five times and a Super Bowl title. Yet Flacco is all but dismissed by experts.
Don’t count Alterraun Verner among those who ignores Flacco. The Bucs corner told Joe yesterday that he thinks Flacco may be one of the most underrated quarterback in the NFL.
“He’s a steady quarterback,” Verner said. “To me he’s one of the most consistent quarterbacks, you don’t ever see him have just a terrible day I feel like. I feel he always puts his guys in positions to make plays and he manages the game really well. I wouldn’t say he’s a game manager when I say that, but I say he doesn’t really make too many mistakes and that’s one thing that I see about Joe Flacco, you can tell that he has a strong presence in that huddle and people respect him and they expect him to lead. Those are the characteristics I see from him.”
Glorified canned hams don’t have the success Flacco has had in his career. He’s only missed the playoffs once. Think about that. Who knows how many Super Bowls Flacco would have reached if the Crows hadn’t run into the Steelers in the playoffs so many times.
Flacco is a guy that bears watching Sunday. If he had a good game, then the Bucs are going to have a helluva time trying to win. Flacco may not be Peyton Manning but he simply gets the job done.

Flacco is hard to rattle but vulnerable if you can.
He is pretty good at taking what the defense gives him

Look this is the truth. We got new players, new scheme, new coaches its going to take a little bit of time. We are improving every game under Glennon (which im not a fan of but he is getting the job done.) People need to CALM DOWN we will get it together! GO BUCS!

A Joe Flacco haiku:
A Super Bowl and
Twenty million bucks per year
But we have Glennon

They are beatable.

Last week I heard Wacco was pressured left and right. Let’s hope the Bucs can do the same.

I live in Baltimore so I really hope we win this game. My boss has already approached me about a bet on the game but I have no confidence it our defense being able to stop anyone especially Steve Smith. Flacco could have a career day.

Football is a team game. You’ll notice the year after the Ravens partially gutted their team to pay Flacco, they missed the playoffs. Not a coincidence. Flacco is a middle tier QB, but middle tier QBs can win the Super Bowl with a top team around them. See Brad Johnson.

The reason Flacco has gotten no respect is because the Ravens defense was known for being the reason the team has achieved two rings
Bib shocker and certainly no mystery.

If he has a good game? This defense has made every quarterback look like a star, how could he have a bad game

I wanted Flacco to be a Buc so bad when he was in the draft. He’s definitely in my top five playing now. Anyone else get the sense Andrew luck is going to just win a Superbowl by himself this year?

I would take mike glennon or josh mccown over
joe flacco. joe flacco cannot handle any pressure.
he has zero mobility as evidenced in his super bowl performance years ago. he is a pocket passer.
he will have pressure this week from Gerald McCoy and the guys
up front. don’t forget g. mccoy knows some of the guys on the Baltimore offensive line from past TB practices. he will know their
tendencies. this will help with his pressuring flacco.
the heat at Raymond james stadium will be a factor as the game wears on for the visitor.
go bucs!
