I agreed with mostly what Steve said today (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little). Except for hiring mccown as our offensive coordinator that would be the dumbest decision this team could make. Keep arroyo as offensive coordinator Glennon learning 3 New systems 3 years in a row is dumb. Unless we get a new qb then it makes sense.

Let McCown be the QB coach, he is a natural, and let Arroyo be the OC. I said that to a friend at lunch today. It will work. Draft the Tennessee qb in the fourth round to develop as a solid back up and let Mike run this for a couple of years, that would be fair.

I agree with McCown being a QB coach…he IS a natural. HOWEVER Arroyo seems to be in way over his head at the OC position. The only reason he is here is because he had relationship with Tedford as a QB coach. I say draft the best QB you can and let him compete with Glennon. The best man gets the number one spot. Maybe the rookie is able to get some valuable experience being on the bench for a year. It’s ok to keep Glennon on his toes with a talented draft pick in the wings.

Everything is failing at the moment. Almost all positions could use an upgrade. At least with a very high draft choice we have a better chance at a franchise QB. Picking from middle of the pack we don’t have that opportunity. All I’m saying is let’s take the opportunity if it so happens. Just tired of being the red headed stepchild of the NFC south competing with Ryan, Brees, and Newton.

I find it utterly absurd that the Joe’s, nor any other Bucs beat writers out there are calling out Koenen for his god awful job at punting. He is the top paid punter in the NFL and ranks dead last in the NFL in average yard per punt, but no one says a damn thing about this.
Has any one else besides me realize that every time we punt, the opposing team gets the ball in prime field position every single time? Is this not a major concern? Why isn’t any one talking about this?
$3.5 million a season for a punter that can only punt the ball a maximum of 40 yards… This is an alarming situation if you ask me…

Deumig is wrong on this one.
Dungy came here as a rookie head coach, used Sam Wyches’ team, installed his defence, and never stunk, and lost, as bad as Lovies’ team does. He also knew how to draft good players.
Lovie Smith came here as a veteran head coach, revamped the roster, and is still unable to install basically, the same defense as Dungy, and can’t understand, why his team is so bad.
The question remains, Are the coaches just bad teachers, or are the players, just collecting a paycheck and don’t care?

@lion – solid point. I’m fine if the ST philosophy is to punt it short and guarantee no return but we’re paying a truckload of money for something that most folks in the stands can do.
