Eric Page Returns

The stat geeks would say rookie Solomon Patton’s nine punt returns are a “small sample size.” But Patton has done pretty well with them, averaging 11.7 yards per return, tied for seventh best among full-time NFL punt returners.So it was interesting to see the Bucs bring back 2013 returner Eric Page and sign him to the practice squad yesterday.
Page, 23, was 13th best in the NFL last year among punt returners with 15 or more attempts. After being cut in late August, he failed to catch on with another club.
Lovie Smith has said he wants to get a lot more from his return game. Joe doesn’t predict a shakeup is coming, but it seems the Bucs are covering themselves a bit with this move and/or they really don’t think fellow practice squad member Jeff Demps has any future as a returner.

I would like to have seen some defense areas addressed before the kick return game. So far the other teams have had the ball so much of the game and rarely need to punt to us that it seems like a small part of the picture or the needs of the team.

have two players lovie cut or put on the bench are now here starting or back with the team I think he had a revaluation and realize schiano might have been a good talent scout. sometimes I thought love was making change just to make it his own. curse of Eric page is now lifted

Waste of a roster move. Neither one is too bad, nor outstanding at returns. Neither is a viable option at receiver either. ZZZZZZZZ

seventh best among full-time NFL punt returners? He’s looked like one of the worst I’m sure that’s why Eric page is back, another guy no other team wanted. We’re rashly scraping the bottom of the barrel for talent. Jeff demos has been in the league long enough to contribute to any team so that seems like a waste of a practice squad spot

Solomon has disappointed.
He began being aggressive, slashing through the first wave.
He’s become tentative and has shown little, gong down on first contact.
I can see a possible change in the future if Solomon doesn’t go back to what got him thee in the first place…

Solomon Patton has shown great courage returning kicks.
he is not afraid to take risks that others(eric page) would not be willing
to take. he rarely signals for a fair catch. I would like to see more of him on the field as a receiver. he would look good going over the middle as a slot receiver. he has proven he is willing to take the hits and still holding onto the ball during his returning kick duties.

is solomon patton the kick returner who routinely catches the ball 7+ yards deep in the end zone, insists on running it out, and NEVER makes it to the 20? if so, i can’t wait to see eric page take that role over. haven’t paid too much attention to punt returns, for the life of me i can’t remember more than 4 or 5 punts that our defense has forced all season

we got last year’s QB and last year’s PR… now if we can just bring back the o-line and the defense we can maybe get 4 wins. Aim high.
