The Bucs will feel the loss of Mike Evans, says a Super Bowl-winning coach.

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are long gone from the Baltimore defense, but there’s still plenty of nasty/stingy play on the field.

The Playbook crew on NFL Network last night were happy to blubber about the NFL’s top red zone defense.

In fact, that’s why former Pro Bowl center Shaun O’Hara says he believes the Bucs will lose today. O’Hara is down on the Bucs’ offensive line and their ability to do what’s necessary to convert touchdowns.

Former Ravens head coach Brian Billick also gave a thumbs down on the Bucs. He says the “pressure’s going to be too much for Mike Glennon.” The expected absence of injured Mike Evans (groin) is will represent a big loss today, Billick said.

On the up side, Sterling Sharpe believes the Bucs are on a real upswing and will walk away with the “W.”

Regarding Billick, Joe agrees there’s a huge impact in being without Evans, especially with Austin Seferian-Jenkins’ troubles squeezing the football. Evans delivered such an impact in Pittsburgh. Joe can’t wait for him to get back healthy.

Patton and Herron running fly routes all day long. That will soften-up that secondary, and back those safety’s and LB’s away from the L.O.S. Put all your speed on the table and don’t hold back.

Bro! Not Madden. WRs can’t be on the field to do one thing: run fly routes, block, run slants, bubble screens, etc. WRs have to be able to do it all. If we put BOTH Patton and Herron on the field, not only will the perimeter blocking suffering tremendously, but timing routes, short routes, and intermediate routes over the middle will almost be off the table. You can’t just put speed on the field just to do it, the speed has to be able to make the routine plays before you can even hope that they can make big plays.

I see Glennon putting up points today on the Ravens, and our big receivers will be a handful for them, in the Red Zone.
The question will be, as always, can we stop Flacco, and that answer would be “No”, especially with Banks out.

buc4lyfe. Shouldn’t you root for MG8 to play good football? Or are you looking at 2015? Closet Ravens fan maybe? No friends?
