Here comes the trash talk
Starting on the dreadful (after one week) Rams offensive line is right guard Davin Joseph, the former Buccaneers captain.
Joseph was well loved by his teammates, so look for Joseph to get quite an earful of trash talk on Sunday.
Akeem Spence said he expects Gerald McCoy, a University of Oklahoma star like Joseph, to try to get in Joseph’s head.
“I think Gerald will give him a hard time,” Spence told Joe. “I’m going to try to give him a hard time, too. But I’m so into the game, I’ll be forgetting to talk.”
Don’t look for much reaction from Joseph, Spence said, because Joseph carries himself professionally all the time. But he’ll be listening and extra fired up.
“I think he’ll have a little smirk, just seeing some of the guys you’ve been around a while in the past, familiar faces raise your competitive level just another notch,” Spence said. “So I think he’ll be competing real hard, and we’re going to do the same. It’s not going to be no cakewalk, buddy, buddy, buddy type thing.”
Joe just hopes the Bucs don’t have much time to ride Joseph. It would be nice to see the Bucs defense spend a lot less time on the field Sunday.
