Cam Newton Practicing, Throwing

Stinking Panthers QB Cam Newton has resumed throwing today.

Stinking Panthers QB Cam Newton has resumed throwing today.

Bucs fans, when hearing of the ribs injury to Stinking Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and him subsequently missing practice time this week, were giddy. No, they didn’t want Newton to be maimed, they just wanted Newton not to play Sunday against the Bucs.

Besides, Derek Anderson facing the Bucs defense is about as close to a sure win as one can get. But news from Charlotte may dampen these same fans’ Friday.

It seems that Newton is in fact practicing today — throwing, Twittered Seminole High School product Jeff Darlington of NFL Network.

Of course, this does not mean Newton will indeed start Sunday. Yesterday, Stinking Panthers coach Ron Rivera noted Newton’s status will be a game day decision. We are a little more than 48 hours from kickoff.

Joe sure would rather see Gerald McCoy chasing down Anderson than Newton.

He may start, but does he finish?

  2. BucsQcCity Says:

You’re weak Joe. I want the bucs to win each game with all the starters on the other team. No excuses

  3. gatrbuc17 Says:

Not me Joe. I would rather see Cam out there wincing in pain as GMC gets up off of him

  4. INDYbucsfan Says:

Haha I would love to see him maimed! Theismaned if you will.

  5. VABucsFan01 Says:

I honestly prefer that Cam Newtown plays and is his usual self because that way when our defense suffocates him there will be no excuses. Fire Those Canons!!!!!

  6. The_Buc_Realist Says:

Don’t forget adrian slowborn, he is usually good for one late hit! Then most around here will tell, “how it was a BS call” and what a “beast” he is.

  7. tampamac Says:

Cam’s playing. Gotta hit him hard and often to make him reconsider the decision though.

  8. adamant Says:

I hate you Buc_Realist. Go root for another team, douche.

  9. SteveK Says:

I hope our boys are chomping at the bit for a McRib.

  10. SteveK Says:

    Lol at realist and adamant.

    So true.

Why did the rock star let Michael Bennett walk in free agency?

  11. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I’m in the camp of wanting Cam on the field. Winning against a backup QB at home won’t say too much about our team. You’re supposed to win those games. Lets see how our team does against the real deal.

  12. BC Says:

I have zero interest in Cam not playing. And zero fear of Cam. As much as I would love to see a Buc victory, I am equally interested in seeing Cam admitted into St Joseph’s Hospital. The biggest fraud of a QB ever and one of the top 5 “Me” guys in the NFL. Break the rib, put him down. He is all that is wrong with the NFL and our society today in general.

I posted this earlier but there was a problem so incase you missed it I found this photo of newtons girlfriend after the news of the rib injury and now facing GMC, Check it out http://www.imagesup.net/?di=914099203989

Not sure we will ever know for sure. Hell, even Michael Bennett doesn’t know, told Joe himself.

    Clayborn is a beast!

  16. Rob Says:

Speaking of Panthers players not playing… how did Greg Hardy avoid being suspended for his domestic violence issue thus far? I mean, I know it’s lingering, but how did the league not find time to get that taken care of during the off season? Ray Rice’s incident occurred long after Hardy’s, but Rice is out and Hardy is suiting up?

  17. Joe Says:

how did Greg Hardy avoid being suspended for his domestic violence issue thus far?

He is appealing his verdict. Not a closed case.

  18. MadMax Says:

Told some of the local panther fans up here in SC that I heard Cam wasnt practicing and might not play….boy did that get a reaction, lol! They jumped all over me, heeee heeee. I’m the same way as others here, told them “I HOPE he plays” GMC is gonna tattoo his initials on him, and if not GMC, then Goldson or Barron if he tries to scramble…..

Oh yeah, “SCRAM” newton will be his new nickname after this sunday……..IF he plays! I predict he’ll start but will get pulled quick.

    here kitty kitty kitty…..

  19. Buccfan37 Says:

Scam thinks he’s got this game in the bag. Even with nagging injuries, pseudo superman thinks his superior magnificence will vanquish the Bucs. The Bucs will stomp on supermans cape and spit into the wind, stop that scootin and tickle his ribs, then wipe that smirk off scam’s mug.

I’m not in the mood for deja vu Joe. If it was a rookie qb we’d lose for sure

  21. Cobraboy Says:

    I want Newton to play.

But if I’m Ron Rivera, do I want my QB to possibly get hurt even more with a questionable OL, including a rook in his first game opposite Gerald McCoy?

  22. RastaMon Says:

Not since Steve McNair…gimpy…3rd and long backed up on the 10 …#99 stomping and posturing….McNair legged out a 70 yard 1st down !!!!!beware !!!

  23. Tbucsfan Says:

    @Buccfan37
You don’t pull the mask off of the Lone Ranger and you don’t mess around with GERALD!

  24. SAMCRO Says:

They are waiting to suspend Hardy weeks 9 – 11, when they play the Saints and Falcons.

Remember Charlie Batch? Or Chris Redman?
