Joe Talks Panic, Patience, Line Rotations & More
August 13th, 2014It was a spirited “JoeBucsFan Hour” on WDAE-AM 620 this evening. And what else did you expect after finally seeing the Bucs face a real opponent?
Joe’s weekly sit-down with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig, is always a fun time.
Joe dove into a variety of topics.
Enjoy.

“…as far as that’s concerned”

Listened to it live on radio tonight. You changed my mind about us looking at Incognito and needing to call San Fran. But still hoping something else happens after first round of cuts that will get us some more guard options. Maybe things wont look so bad after this weekends game.

@Magoo,
At what point did they change your mind about Incognito, I am 40 minutes in and all I hear is Blah Blah Blah.

Patience. Good. They have time anyway (for me, its about next offseason more than anything)
Because this off-season wasn´t a success:
Biggest failure Guard situation INCLUDING TOTALLY WASTED 3rd ROUNDER WHICH REALY UPSETS ME
there were so many realy good options left, for WR, Tackle, Guard, DT…
– Lois Nix III DT Notre Dame, absolute monster down there
– WR Ellington who went to the 49ers, would have been great Slot WR
– WR and generall offensive weapon DeAnthony Thomas, whos only mock is size (are you kidding, everbody should have learned by now, size is blown up in the NFL)
– Tackle Brandon Thomas again 49ers (see a pattern, 49ers one of NFL top teams takes two very good prospects AFTER the sucking low media coverage Bucs take a FREAKING NO SPECIAL RB)
– Gabe Jackson, very good Guard prospect
– later in the 5th they passed on Aaron Murray (would have been good compition for Glennon; even Connor Shaw could have been good compition.. at the most important position in football)
– Guard Zach Fulton in the 5th… better than Pamphille i guess
– Yankey very good versatile Tackle/guard prsopect they passed on even in the 5th round
thats unexcusable total scouting draft planning disasters….
Thats what sets this franshise back, again and again, total incompetence at drafting!!
August 13th, 2014 at 10:40 pm
that DeAnthony Thomas kid would have solved all special teams problems (as returner) by himself
and its not just the drafting but personal moves generally….
again, best post since a long long time here:

We are Tired.
We are tired of being told that this offense doesn’t need a TE.
Or Slot Reciever isn’t important
Or that we don’t need our leader pass rusher, because our injured 2nd year rookie will do it.
We are tired of watching this team have glaring, obvious weaknesses- and being told we are wrong.
Then, once it’s obvious we were right- being told we are supposed to watch yet another crappy season- like good little idiots
August 13th, 2014 at 10:59 pm
Joe talking about forgetting 2012 season and how good the o-line was…
well Carl Nicks for this year (as Davin Joseph in last year) was a sure bet to anywhere but in tip top football shape…
what else do you expect when he isnt able to train/run????
Why getting rid of Zuttah for no obvious reasons, while he was a good asset?
and again and again and again: the draft plan was horrible in terms of leaving out all the better prospect for an NOT SPECIAL RB…
But patience… lets see what the L/L regime will do in the first 2 years and lets look closely…

@panhandle Buc:
Certainly there would be more to cheer about as a Saints fan, wouldn´t be it nice to have the (at least) the same success?
Look: they get themselves good players, making older (expensive) ones interchangeable; Bucs pick them up
Saints dont loose a step in terms of talent and Bucs loose tons of capspace
Same for 49ers:
They can afford loosing an servicealbe player, because the next is in the pipeline: FrankGore-CarlosHyde; Boone-i forgot playes name, who already was on roster plus they even drafted a good o-line prospect for future in Brandon Thomas + Center from USC….
This teams are well managed.
Don´t you want a team that is competitive year in and year out?
The Saints aren´t just Drew Brees. Even Drew couldn´t do shhhh without the players around him and good coaching.
Every teams with SuperBowl aspirations need more than a QB, look at Atlanta last year.
Matt Ryan is a good QB. with the right supporting cast they play for champion ship (supporting cast includes Defense too).
If they go down they are 4-12.
Bucs? Laugingstock and here is hope that will change.
I am not ready to dump the new regime just now.
They got us good depth at the D-line.
They showed, to be able to make bold moves if necessary (Revis)
Showing, if performance dont match contract, you are gone, thumps up
They weren´t sold on Glennon
Maybe got that dominant franchise TE which is super duper
Lovie has history of being able to field very good teams, although he had his shortcomings and here is hope, he learned a thing or two
All in all, HOPE L/L get it done – just so far they also made very very silly decissions which could bite them back and set the franchise back again.
Simply put: Do you wanna see a team with mostly Claytons or Megatrons?
Obvious. Just as obvious like the stupid draft plan. Like i´ve said: even Online draft nerds get it done better, why not the high paid in One Buc?

@ FanofBucs and @PANHANDLE BUC….AMEN!!! I mean it was 1 preseason game under a ENTIRE NEW STAFF!! I played college football and I can tell you one thing it takes TIME to adjust to a new offense and new coaches. I mean we havent even seen 1/3 of the offense. Is the O-line a area of concern of course it is, but for all these people doubting L/L SIMA DOWN! Be happy we have a coach that knows how to win in this league and not a chump from college that never won sh#* outside of a terrible Big East title. Rome wasnt built overnight!!!!!!!!!! TAKE A CHILL PILL AND GET ON BOARD!!!!!!!

Lol. This is pretty awesome^^^.
I couldn’t agree more.
The sons have created an abomination where
the proud 2002 Buccaneers once stood.
F*ck it.
Go ahead and move them.
Let the next city deal with this charade.

Louden…try waiting ONE REGULAR SEASON GAME, (or a year or two) before deciding a draft class sucks. Let me guess, you were one of those guys calling Gerald McCoy a bust back in the day right??
Give it time.
