Is Gorrer Gone?

The Bucs have yet to release names of the two players the team must trim in order to get down to the mandatory 75-man roster today. Joe is not sure what the holdup is.
As Joe is typing, it is nearly 4:30 p.m. The deadline is 4 p.m. Lovie Smith tried to claim he didn’t know who was getting cut. (C’mon, Lovie, that’s lame.)
What we know is the ominous Twitter from veteran cornerback Danny Gorrer just minutes ago.

If Gorrer is gone it is a bit surprising. No, he is no Revis, but Joe also thought he was no Anthony Gaitor, either.

I always respect GMs, coaches, teams that know they are not going to keep a veteran player and they cut them at the early cuts (75 trim) instead of waiting until after the last preseason game to cut the veteran with the final cuts. Chances are they won’t be playing starters much anyway during the last preseason game so cut the (veteran) player early enough so he can hopefully latch on with a team that might actually need him and can extend his career.

If he was cut with the first cut, they really don’t want/need him…..perhaps there is another CB they are bringing in cut elsewhere…..

To hit the 75-man limit, the Bucs put CB Danny Gorrer on IR, waived/injured T Matt Patchan & waived T J.B. Shugarts & CB Deveron Carr. – Scott smith

I’m sure kommadant Godell has some penalty for that!
