“He’s A Great Player”
August 26th, 2014Mason Foster is a big Richie Incognito fan.
This afternoon at One Buc Palace, Foster talked about studying sleazy Incognito’s game in previous years and walking away impressed.
“Man, playing against him, in preseason and everything, and watching him play, he’s a great player,” Foster said. “You know what I mean; you like his style of play. You like what he brings to the table.
” But as far as everything else, I haven’t met him before so I couldn’t really tell you. You’d have to talk to Lovie and the front office guys. I just work here.”
Foster emphasized that a close, communicative locker room is important to on-field performance and repeated that the on-field Incognito is his kid of guy.
“The way Incognito plays, and the way he’s played his game, I love it,” Foster said. “You know, I love guys that play the game like that, with that type of tenacity.”
Joe hopes if the Bucs do sign Incognito that they actually get a good football player. It’s no slam dunk to pull a 31-year-old, high-mileage guard off the couch and get quick results, or any results at all.

Don’t miss the 6 O’clock news…..
August 26th, 2014 at 12:58 pm
This guy has always been capable but not cohesive as a team player.
His good play is offset by the antics.
Which one shows up on Sunday
Good Richie
Bad Richie

I hope the Bucs hurry up and get it over with one way or the other. Incognito looks big and wide, plug him in or wrap up the cord.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:04 pm
@billy – maybe that’s because he was put in the wrong roles. he was a team captain and a leader for the dolphins. not everyone is cut out for that sort of stuff. maybe he’s a guy that needs strong leadership and needs to be kept in line and he’ll do well. kind of like randy moss, he needed belichek to keep him in line and he was great for the Pats. maybe incognito needs to fill in a support role and be kept in line by men who are legitimate leaders.

Speaking of SLEAZY, Joe, what about that Manziel character:
SLEAZY money phone
SLEAZY MNF bird flipping
SLEAZY dollar bill rolled up in a night club
SLEAZY drinking too much on an inflateable swan
Incognito is far from a Saint or a kind and gentle person, but he is a better football player then is your Man(Ziel) crush.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:08 pm
Just to be clear:
Drafting Manzell was a good idea and signing Incognito
is a bad idea?
OK, got it.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:10 pm
i think Joe might be jealous of incognito’s ability to pull chicks
Now that was funny! –Joe
August 26th, 2014 at 1:13 pm
Joe, hope you’re not entertaining thoughts of complaining about the Manziel heat. You brought it on yourself and these guys are gonna give it to you for years to come. Taking such a dramatic and overbearing public stance like you did with your Mancrush has consequences. I’m sure you can deal with it, being a big boy and all.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:17 pm
OK……which would you rather have for protection?
ROTTWEILER or LABRADOR
I can guarantee you for the exception of the current Buc guards…..the players would vote yes…..even the Minorities & Gays on the team.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:18 pm
Apparently it’s no slam dunk getting rid of veterans in favor of unproven current players either, lovie screwed up and he know he did. People keep talking about the name lovie but has anyone ever heard of an nfl gm? This guy isn’t gonna let lovie put his career and name in jeopardy, lovie proved he knows nothing about offense and a year on the sideline hasn’t that
August 26th, 2014 at 1:21 pm
OK…..here’s the question….
Would you rather have a ROTTWEILER or LABRADOR for protection…..
I can guarantee you that (except current Guards) Buc players would overwhelmingly vote YES for Incognito…
And….that includes Minorities & any Gays that may be in the Buc closet.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:23 pm
buc4lyfe,
What about Mark Dominick? He failed at drafting, prior to Schiano, AND he prided himself on NOT drafting O-Linemen.
We are still stuck in Trench Purgatory for all of the football sinning Mr. Dominick employed. Hella nice dude, bad, bad, bad GM. For sure the “No. 1 worst Buccaneer in the last 10 years”.
All hail the rock star!

Lab. The lab will bark and Joe will be able to get his shotgun.
The rot will either chew you or chew a neighbor and you’ll get the sh!t sued out of you.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:29 pm
So the guys in charge had since the first week of January to address the offensive guards, didn’t, and it’s Dominik’s fault? That’s rich.
That’s like Obama six years in still blaming George Bush. smh
August 26th, 2014 at 1:41 pm
Raheem had one good saying to his credit: “I will tolerate you until I can replace you.” That needs to be the attitude towards Incognito. If they can’t find a better OG somewhere they need to bite the bullet and sign the guy. Then they can keep him around only long enough to find an upgrade.
This is the NFL and you need to win. That means fielding the best players you can get your hands on. If they determine Incognito is better than what we currently have, and they can’t trade for Boone, then it’s utter stupidity not to sign the guy. Winning comes first. Period. The other considerations come after that on the list of priorities.
I can’t believe this concept eludes some of you, and that it needs to be repeated so often. Lovie won’t last if his line can’t block. Simple as that. It was a major reason he was shown the door in Chicago and if he doesn’t get his act together it will be his undoing here as well.
Take this to the bank: a consistently bad offensive line will cost Lovie and Licht their jobs way, way, way before a guy like Incognito will.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:41 pm
Joe is getting schooled……..it’s “his” ball….and he lets us play in his really cool house….this is about being a “good host”….
August 26th, 2014 at 1:44 pm
All the bitching can stop. We traded Wright for Mankins of the Pats.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:44 pm
Bucs trade Wright and a pick for 6x pro bowler Logan Mankins
August 26th, 2014 at 1:45 pm
Reports by jay glazier is bucs have traded tim wright and a draft pick for logan mankins of NE
August 26th, 2014 at 1:47 pm
Joe please don’t mention political figures in here
August 26th, 2014 at 1:47 pm
Bucs get Logan Mankins!!!
August 26th, 2014 at 1:47 pm
Whoa. Traded Tim Wright and a pick for Logan Mankins.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:48 pm
Trade!!! Logan Mankins for Tim Wright and another pick. Done deal!!!
August 26th, 2014 at 1:48 pm
Wright AND a draft pick? Boy…sounds like we got screwed again.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:48 pm
I much say that this was not expected and a great move.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:48 pm
Can we finally stop the Incognito whining now????
August 26th, 2014 at 1:49 pm
Damn…Joes lucky day…..

” It’s no slam dunk to pull a 31-year-old, high-mileage guard off the couch and get quick results, or any results at all.”
Ummmmm, thats more than what thuds we have on the field now.
just sayin.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:51 pm
Know who else is a great player? The guy the Bucs just traded for….Logan Mankins.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:51 pm
Well, like I said, if they can’t find anyone better than Incognito they need to bite the bullet and sign him.
Looks like they found someone better in Mankins.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:51 pm
No, it’s actually Tim Wright’s lucky day. Going from McCown to Brady throwing him the ball.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:52 pm
No, it’s actually Tim Wright’s lucky day. Going from McCown to B.rady throwing him the ball.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:52 pm
My only issue with this move is if ASJ goes down we are completely screwed in the pass catching department as far as TE’s go. Stocker and Myers won’t be juking anyone in the NFL, that’s for sure.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:54 pm
t-dub,
Logan Mankins is a 5 time pro-bowler and wasn’t sitting on the couch. Great move depending on the pick.
August 26th, 2014 at 1:55 pm
Sign the man….Big Risk Big Reward
August 26th, 2014 at 1:57 pm
Patrick in VA makes a fair point – Incognito as a fringe player in a locker room led by guys big on faith, teamwork, and brotherhood like Lovie, McCoy, McCown, and VJax might be a different animal (i use the term literally, i’m not sure he is housebroken) than Incognito the team captain and leader of the OL. i would still rather win without him though, and anybody who thinks he will “reform” is smoking pixie dust. by all reports, the guy has been a grade A jerk and head case since college, it is a lifelong condition

He went out and found Donald Penn and our current starting tackle

It took MF to say something about Richie being a good football player for him to even fathom the fact of him playing for us. C’MON MAN
