Welcome To Real Football!
July 27th, 2014Who could forget the famous quote by Raheem Morris when asked about the difference between spring practices and training camp: “You take off your underwear, you put on your big boy pads and you put your face on people.”
Well, after two days of underwear football mandated by NFL labor laws, today’s the freakin’ day at Tampa Bay training camp. Hallelujah!
This afternoon at One Buc Palace, Buccaneers players will be wearing pads and hitting each other. Finally! Finally!
All the speculation on the offensive line and battles along the defensive line will start to be answered. Joe can’t wait to see high-motor, hungry Adrian Clayborn let loose on Demar Dotson. Brand new Buccaneers Michael Johnson and Anthony Collins will square off throughout the day.
And Joe pities the guards who attempt to stop salivating All-Pro Gerald McCoy today. That could be ugly.
If you can’t make it out to training camp (2 p.m. start), then you can catch some looks on NFL Network, and Joe will bring you all the need-to-know throughout the afternoon into the evening.

The lack of certainty at the guard position is scary at times, but having practice against an all-pro DT like McCoy is a great way to test these young guys and teach them a thing or two
