Leading Glennon To The “Hall Of Fame”

“Follow Josh McCown, my son.”
Josh McCown is one giant fan of Mike Glennon, so he detailed today at One Buc Palace.
McCown is certain Glennon is destined for greatness. But, surprisingly, McCown told reporters he hasn’t watched any of Glennon’s game tape.
McCown’s high marks for Glennon and his projections for Glennon’s future are based on what he’s seen with his own eyes through the past five weeks, and in box scores from 2013.
It wasn’t coming from Joe, but McCown was peppered with questions from local media about Lovie Smith’s “quarterback of the future,” aka Glennon.
McCown was happy to entertain all the angles and share all kinds of love about the Tampa Bay “cannon” waiting in the wings. McCown talked about how excited he is to start for the Bucs, and he also reiterated how serious he takes his role as mentor-in-chief.
“It’s a great quarterbacks room. I want to get Mike Glennon, you know, my hope is that one day Mike Glennon is a Hall of Famer. I take great pride in saying, ‘You know, you had a small part of that, man,'” McCown said. “He has everything out in front of him. And so it’s just to help him and help make him better. Whenever that time is, that time is.
“And so [Glennon] pushes me, and I’m just trying to bring him along and make him better. I think that’s good for the Bucs. That’s good for our team. Whenever you have two guys pushing and working with each other but, you know, both parties just wanting the best for the team, that’s when you can capture something special. That’s the hope for Mike and I. And I think he’s got a real, real bright future. I do. I think he’s super talented. He’s a hard worker. He’s really sharp. He’s going to have a great career.”
McCown explained his mentoring approach is fluid and focused on what will help Glennon avoid “potholes” McCown encountered in his career, in addition to emphasizing positive coaching tips.
So what makes Glennon worthy of the “quarterback of the future” label? McCown was asked.
“I just like the skill set, man,” McCown said. “I just like the skill set. I think he throws the ball well. His arm strength is obviously well above average. He can spin it, man. He can really spin it. He’s a hard worker. He loves football. You have to have that at that position. And he’s intelligent. And so those things, all those things, kind of encompass. It’s just a matter of time for him.”
How does Joe know McCown hasn’t seen Glennon play? “I’ve not watched any film from last year,” McCown said.
Center Of Attention
New Bucs center Evan Dietrich-Smith also a big Glennon fan and seems blown away by McCown. However, Dietrich-Smith didn’t see too high on Josh Freeman or Dan Orlovsky, Glennon’s 2013 mentors.
“Mike’s a great player. You know, he’s got his head around it. I think he’s going to definitely gain from having Josh in front of him. You know Josh is a really good player, too. It’s kind of crazy to me the guy’s been in the league this long and, you know, hasn’t been able to get a chance as much as he has,” Dietrich-Smith said.
“But I think Mike will definitely learn form Josh how to be a pro. And I think that Mike probably didn’t have that last year, as somebody to look to what it takes to really be successful in this league. And I think that Josh is going to be able to show him that, and any other quarterback that gets to sit in that room with him. Because at the end of the day as a young player, if you don’t have somebody in front of you teaching you how to be a professional, or how this game’s played, or what you need to be seeing as a player, it’s really hard. It’s hard to develop. A coach can only take you so far.”

Also, the same guy who thought Tavon Austin would be drafted prior to Tyler Eirfert. Addittionally, I spoke out against picking MO Claibourne the year before that.
I am thrilled with the direction of the Bucs.
I am stoked to see the TRUTH BE TOLD, Glennon can play and he is our future.
Sorry Joes, Big Dog, and others. But the truth hurts, and the truth is that Freeman blew it and Glennon has potential.

I won’t bug Joe too much about it though. I see him as quality back-up myself, but I always say the words…for now. I do that for a reason.

Great point and exactly what I was thinking when I read that line from Dietrich-Smith. Couldn’t learn from Freeman if the guy wasn’t there. And after he was benched, he and his agent started the bad-mouthing of the Bucs right away….no way was Freeman guiding Glennon in week 4 and beyond

I love how the Bucs just let everyone speculate like crazy about Glennon before the draft and now that it’s over just about everyone in the orginization has come out and had his back.
They played all the so called experts like a drum and now they are coming to his rescue after he got the crap kicked out of him in the local media for the last 5 months.

I’m really liking McCown. He seems smart, insightful, dedicated, hard-working. All the things Freeman was not. Now, those won’t guarantee that he’ll be successful as a starter or mentor to Glennon, but having those qualities is more of an advantage than lacking them.

McCown is right to base his evaluation of Glennon on what he has seen personally this year. No doubt Glennon has improved in a number of areas since last year and people who keep basing their opinions of him on how he was last year are simply not being realistic. I’m really liking the way things are going so far regarding the team in general, maybe we have finallly found the coach and GM to take us to the post season on a regular basis and hopefully a SB, we’ll see.

I love the opinions flying back on forth on this site. Very entertaining.
I think the MGM folks are being way to hard on Joe however. I’m not a member of the mob, but neither do I agree with Joe or the Big Dog about Glennon. He’s played ONE FREAKING YEAR on a horrid team with the worst example of leadership at QB in Sleepy Freeman in the entire NFL. He had only one receiver until Tim Wright emerged. He had a sieve for an offensive line.
Are those excuses or valid extenuating circumstances? Eye of the beholder I guess.
I’m not ready to say Glennon is the future, but I’m not with Joe in calling him a good career backup.
What I don’t get is why folks think Joe is making this personal against Glennon. I suspect Joe actually likes Glennon personally and admires Glennon’s obvious smarts. He just doesn’t think he’s an NFL Q.B.
I neither agree nor disagree with Joe on this other than to say I believe it’s premature to place any kind of grade on Glennon yet. Let’s see him with offensive weapons, a decent offensive line, and some experienced tutoring from McCown first.

It is sad but media has made Glennon a polarizing figure here in Tampa
All this kid has done per all accounts is become a leader in the locker room while working his butt off
But some people in the media don’t like him…why? Because he is thin, because they don’t think he is fast enough
He was forced to play in a situation with 3rd string players and a awful coach.
Lets let this kid learn and grow and see what he can do with a proper supporting team and stable coach.

The bucs are in a way better situation than they have been in years QB wise. LEts get on board.
Lovie has at least 5 years with the team, if needs to go out and get another QB at some point , he will. THe team can win with these guys.
Plus, i am not too sure McCown cant have a better year than Cam Newton and Matty Ice. NOt saying he is #2 in our division, but he could put up better numbers than those guys this year. WE will see. Of course Brees will put up better numbers, but the good thing about him, he is getting older. His day in the sun is passing, and so is New ORleans,

Nobody ever said Schiano wasn’t a good talent evaluator. Just that he’s a horrible NFL head coach.
Now Dominik, on the other hand, has a drafted-player-retention record that’s truly embarrassing.
And to think, myself and many other fans (and Joes) were fooled by the Robert Johnson like legend that Dominik sold his soul at the crossroads to become the greatest draft mover and shaker in modern memory and a legendary Rock Star.
Boy, were we ever taken for a ride on that one.

I don’t consider myself to be a card carrying member of the MGM but I honestly thought he had a good year last year as a rookie given the circumstances with coaching and personnel on the offensive side of the ball. Great QBs would had difficulty with that offensive line in front of them. Lovie talked about it being a process and if they feel he has the tools then who am I to argue?

Rome embarrassed himself when he continually made fun of Peyton Manning before the draft and swore that Cryin Ryan Leaf was far superior to Manning. He used to taunt Manning by using the last names of NFL busts as Manning’s first name. I have yet to hear Rome admit to the biggest blunder in sports observations in a long, long, long time. Yeah Rome Leaf worked out much better than Manning.

Maybe….just maybe….some coaching….mentoring….a competent scheme….some weapons….and just a little more time practicing….and a player can actually improve…..
I think many people are down on Glennon because of the Schiano love….a bad taste from last year…and frankly…he doesn’t really look the part…..many joke about his “giraffe” like moves…etc.
What I see is a rookie who has great potential and apparently….I’m not the only one.

Thinking of that dust up with Jay Mohr and TKras was forced to fight his battle for him. Now today he is fighting a fight that Licht already ended yesterday with a one two!

McCown will be a very good mentor for MG8 (unlike Freeman)! He is smart, professional and a hard worker! What remains to be seen is whether McCown can a lead a team for an entire season. I hope he does…that way the 2 QB’s will always be pushing each other to be better. HOWEVER based on McCown’s past, it’s really tough to believe that at 35 years old, he can be “the man” for 16 games, plus the playoffs (…hey, I can be optimistic can’t I?). If I were a betting man, my money would be on Glennon becoming the starter at some point in October or November…but I hope that Josh McCown plays well and stays healthy! That way if Glennon does take the job, it will be simply because he is the better QB and gives the Bucs the best chance to win! May the best QB win!!!!!!

I think Brett Smith will give Glennon a run for his money, although I do like Glennon… It kinda sounds like their wishing him farewell lol… I def think Brett Smith is more tailormade for our offensive system, though, and it will be difficult for Glennon to overcome that in the longrun if Smith hones his mechanics & polishes his overall game.

I thought the Bucs had a very productive draft. I think we all good have made the first couple of picks. I am happy that we had a QB, RB, OT, FS, DC, LDE, MLB, WILL Backer and 3 Tech in place. That’s a great start to get to the hope with this class and the future.

I have liked Glennon from first seeing him play. I know it has been run into the ground that his supporting cast of players were lacking, yet that was evident and it played out evidenced by the overhaul of players. The Bucs management and players see that Glennon has enough potential to warrant further evaluation. I’m happy he is here with the Bucs for this upcoming season and expect him to exceed all expectations that his believers have in his abilities.

Chris Simms looked good until he got into live games as well.
Maybe Glennon will become a HoFer down the road, but I think half the MGMers will turn onhim long before then. Simply put, Tampa fans only need a couple bad games to turn on players.
As for myself, I’ll wait until Glennon earns my props.

Was just listening to joe on you know who’s show and I have now officially heard everything and am now dumber for it. he just said that Geno Smih had a better year than Glennon. I had to check this out. Geno’s stat line is: 12 TD’s, 21 INTs, 56%, and 66 QB Rating. I need to start smoking what you guys are smoking.
I am not a Glennon mob member. However, I trust Lovie and Licht all day every day over a few talking heads. They see him play in practice and are with him in meetings. None of us are. sneers pretty simple to me.

Compare Jets and Buccaneers strength of schedule, that may have more to do with the Jets 8 wins and better ranked offense than anything Gino Smith did. The Jets faced the Saints and Panthers once…Bucs had to deal with them twice, let alone the fact that the Bucs had to face the Seahawks, 49’ers, Cardinals, and Rams defenses. I just don’t see how a serious argument can be made that Gino Smith had a better year than Glennon?

It was quite a circle jerk between you guys and the Dog today. Sure was a lot of self serving agreement between you three. The more you try to sound like you are so right about MG And JM the more you loose credibility. Your continuing argument about “last offense in the league” although true needs a lot more scrutiny to be able make an informed decision as to why it was. I suggest that if MG would not have played as he did with the horrible coaching and cast members it would have been a lot worse. Not advocating MG is the future but you can’t be sure either. Still, it is fun to listen to your vitriol and hissy fit over MG.

Hey, I’m definitely no Mike Glennon fan, but if he takes us to the playoffs and shows the potential to be a real player for years to come, I’m all for it. I’d rather have a winning team than be right.
In reference to the talk that Lovie is a 2 QB guy… I said it wasn’t so, then people point to McCown getting cut to prove so…. but that’s not the truth. The truth is:
In 2011, Jay Cutler started 10 games, Caleb Hanie started 4, and McCown started 2… how many QBs is that that started games? 3
In 2010, only Cutler and Todd Collins started games, but in the playoffs, if you remember, Cutler had his infamous “injury” and then Collins was benched for injury/ineffectiveness, and Caleb Hanie came in the game…. that’s 3 QBs
In 2007, Brian Griese started 6 games, Rex Grossman started 7, and Kyle Orton started 3… that’s 3 QBs again.
In 2005, Orton started 15 games, Grossman 1, and old Jeff Blake managed to get into 3 games.
In 2004, Chad Hutchinson started 5 games, Craig Krenzel started 5 as well, and both Johnathan Quinn and Rex Grossman each started 3 games. That’s 4 QBs!!!
Now, if you notice the names on the list, none of them were even eligible for the practice squad at the time they played for the Bears… so basically, they were on the Bears roster all season. So that means that in 5 of Lovie’s seasons in Chicago, more than 2 QBs started games. Again, Lovie Smith IS NOT a 2 QB guy… I don’t know why he wants us to think he is…but he isn’t,

You mention what? 8 QBs that succeeded from small schools over the course of 35 years and then proceed to offer up nothing to say why Brett Smith (who will likely not make the team) will succeed in the NFL. Brett Smith led the Wonderful Wyoming football squad to a record of 5-7. He completed 62% of his passes for 3375 yards with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE! He is allegedly 6’3 and 205 lbs.
He completed 52% of his passes for 292 yards with 1 td and 1 int in a loss to Texas State.
He completed 58% of his passes for 246 yards with 1 td and 2 ints in a loss to Colorado State.
He completed 56% of his passes for 141 yards with 1 td and 1 int in a loss to Fresno State.
He completed 69% of his passes for 207 yards with 1 td and 2 ints in a loss to Boise State.
He completed 55% of his passes for 162 yards with 1 td and 1 int in a loss to Utah State.
Not seeing this as proof he will succeed in the NFL, even though you named off 8 out of thousands of QBs that actually made contributions in the NFL. But those 8 QBs make for one hell of a scouting report.

All four of our QB’s are career backups or undrafted hopefuls. You would think that the Bucs Coaching staff would of brought in a bunch of QB’s to take a look. McCown = Career Backup and never played an NFL season. Opie – Mr Checkdown and ball up when pressure came. Kafka = Career Backup and no offense to Smith, but he will not help us win a game this year either. They go out and sign Free Agents to impact every area except QB and ignore one of the deepest drafts at QB in a while. It would of been nice to see them trade up after the Mike Evans pick and Grab Johnny Football. Instead, we will be competitive 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 season. Yawn.

Frank… things are going to take time. Seattle was not built in one season. Neither were the Bucs during their good years. It’s going to take time in this “win now” league regardless what everyone thinks.

Re Big Dog or virtually all of the radio “sports personalities” in our market.
Folks just can’t realize what a conflict of interest it is to host a coaches show or an athletes show.
I did this in another life on TV…with a several different coaches, two of them very likable men. These people become your friend. It’s really, really hard to be objective and trash your friends.
Big Dog has just fallen into the trap with Sleepy Freeman. But he’s certainly not alone.

Glennon is the Bucs future. I’m ok with it. A few years ago this guy would have been a 1st round draft pick as a pure pocket passer. Now everyone wants a mobile quarterback because it’s a copy cat league. Maybe this will be the start of the offense teams will want to copy cat in the future. Every QB has to be put in a position to help him be successful. Gameplan, Talent around him, Offensive Line, Coaching….but certain players have it or they dont. We have seen them. Brady, Elway, Montana. They thrive in a critical situation. Hell, Tebow has it too. And if Dilfer is right from what I saw on the ESPN spot they did, I would take a look at him too. I do not see IT in any of our current QB’s and I was not happy we did not pick anyone. I know it takes time…..but we have only had 10 good seasons in the history of this franchise. Its getting old not having a FRANCHISE QB.

StPeteBucsFan….but can they admit when they are wrong? Fine to be friends with Freeman and all. Fine you don’t want to bash the guy because you’re friends, but there is a way of admitting that you were wrong without bashing your friend.
I really don’t know what he says or does on the radio anymore. To tell you the truth I never listened to the guy before I found JBF. He so famous I’ve lived in the Tampa Bay area for nearly 20 years (off and on) but I’ve never heard of him until JBF and that was less than a year ago.
I started listening to the Joe Bucs Fan shows, because I like the Joe’s a lot and Joe posted it on site for us to listen to. I loved the first few shows. I liked the Joe’s takes on things. Then Little Puppy started to annoy me. I couldn’t at first put my finger on what it was precisely that I didn’t like about him.
Then I think I figured it out. He WANTS to see the Bucs play bad. He lives for it. He thrives off of harsh criticism of the team that I love. He snickers and laughs at my team. He lives for it. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s how he rubbed me. @Joe if you read this tell me if I’m off base. I’ve never listened to the Little Puppy when the Bucs were on a roll and winning.
Every once and while I click on the Joe’s when Joe posts it on site, and I still get that vibe about the guy and click off. Not that what he’s doing is wrong obviously if he’s called the Big whatever, he’s doing something right and getting paid to do it.
Others have complained about different things when it comes to the guy so maybe I’m not off base.

San Diego couldnt see that they had a HOF QB in Drew Breeze after he played 4 years for them. None of the NFL could see that Joe Montana was better than a 3rd round pick or Tom Brady a 6th. These are pro’s who spend all their time studying players, so nobody can know at this point how MG will turn out. I wanted the Bucs to draft JM but I didnt want them to trade MG just in case he developed into the player some people envision he could become. We could have done that if Smith and the GM didnt have to cover up their mistake releasing Mike Williams. They made a mistake trading Zutah too. So this is 3 serious mistakes they’ve made. I like MG and think he will develop, now it seems that the Bucs do too. Lets hope that is the end of their serious mistakes.

Enjoy reading your posts very much. But some of them remind me of one of my favorite skits on the “Man Show”. If you’ve never seen the show, they(Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmel) would sometimes send a fat Boy Scout out to do stupid things. On one show, he would help “old ladies” cross the street in order to win his merit badge. One “not so old lady” pulled her arm away, and said “I’m not old”, to which he replied “Face it lady, you’re old! You’re so old I should get two merit badges for you.”

Completely agree! Time to re-post my bet:
I am willing to bet that regardless of which team he plays for, that Johnny Manziel, or any of the other rookie QBs, will not beat the rookie year stats of Mike Glennon. And I fully admit that I have never seem JM or the others play, as I never watch college football.
Specifically: 3 separate bets.
1) his QBR (minimum of 300 attempts) will be less than 83.9 for 2014.
2) his TD total will be less than 19 for his first thirteen games.
3) his TD/INT ratio will be less than 19/9 .
If he doesn’t play = I win the bet.
My reasons for the bets only have to do with historical statistics. Over the last twenty years:
Only 7 of 51 QB’s drafted in the FIRST round have had a QBR > 83.9 in their rookie years. Only 3 of 51 have thrown for as many as 19 TDs in their ROOKIE season.
And only 1 of 51 has had a TD/INT ratio > MG8′s 19/9!
I would be ahead on the bet even if we’re discussing the last consensus “franchise” QB, i.e. Andrew Luck. He did throw for 23 TDs over his 16 game rookie season, but also had 18 INT’s, while posting a rookie QB rating of 76.5. So he fails to win two of the three bets vs. MG8′s stats.
Of all of those 51 QB’s chosen in the first round, to my knowledge the only QB drafted in the first round who would win all three of those bets is RG III during his rookie season. (QBR 102.4, 20 TDs, and only 5 INTs).
Of note, Russell Wilson did it as well during his rookie campaign (QBR 100.0, 26 TDs, and 10 INTs), but of course we all know he was only a lowly third round pick. Just a thought, perhaps the head coach or QB coach at NC State is the true QB guru.

I started listening tk am sports talk around 1999. Sometime before I started listening to am sports talk, the little puppy went on the record that he had heard from a very credible source that the bucs were going to be sold. There was a young radio host on another am sports station by the name T.J. Rives who I don’t think liked the little puppy, would open his show with a count of how many days it had been since the little puppies proclamation that the sale was a done deal. The little puppy would get so angry when one of TJ’s listeners would ask him how many days it had been.
If you want to hear the little puppy go ballistic, just ask him about his prediction. Then sit back and ROTFFLYAO.

tickrdr ..thanks for the kind words. If being an MGMer means you’re rooting for the kid then I’m guilty. Though I probably would not root for the kid much if so many were not against him. No sir I’m partial when it comes to the kid. I know what he was dealing with last season and was not expecting much when he came in. We didn’t get much did we? No flash, no pizazz, just trying to learn and adjust to the NFL.
I had season tickets for the first time in my life last season. Despite the losses I enjoyed watching the rookie play over Freeman.
I’m a really true blue die hard everything is Bucs type of fan. I too have waited, waited and waited for a true “franchise QB” to come along. I’ve longed for it. So I can see why everyone saw this draft stocked with QB’s and went nuts about wanting a new one. Again no flash, no pizazz from Glennon, so let’s go get a new one in a draft stocked with them.
If being an MGMer is thinking he is ready to start right now in the NFL and shine. Then that’s not me. If being an MGMer again means you’re rooting for the kid, I’m guilty.
I just want my Bucs to win period. I don’t care about leading the 32nd ranked offense and all that BS and it is BS. I don’t care about the 4th best QB in the division, because I think that’s BS too. Not the part that we do have the 4th best, but the part that the Bucs can’t win the division with the 4th best QB in the South. That’s opinion speak and I don’t believe it.

I see a lot of people here deflecting from Glennon talk to Big d og talk. Steve like Freeman. So do I. Doesn’t mean I won’t support Glennon or McCown when the season starts, but until then? They have a lot to prove.
I’m not convinced McCown is better than Glennon. And I’m not convinced Glennon is or will be better than Newton, Ryan or Brees.
I’m also not saying he isn’t or won’t be as good. It’s up to him to prove it one way or another.
And McCown has had 11 years to prove what he is. Nothing will change there. The day maycome when MGMers are claiming McCown messed up Glennon. But next years excuse is the oline. Already prepared.

Joe sees your point about Montana and Brady. So are you comfortable elevated Greg Schiano’s talent evaluation in Glennon to the level of Bill Walsh and Bill Belicheat?
As Joe has stated many times, Joe is comfortable with Glennon as a backup. Nothing that he showed last year suggests he can put this team on his shoulders if needed and carry them to a Super Bowl.

After year 2, I too thought that Freeman’s ceiling was so high, that I would not have traded him for any other young QB in the league! But that was then. The final straw for me was the season opener, when he couldn’t even audible a single play to prevent taking back-to-back delay of game penalties against the Jets. Neither am I, and that is why I think that Glennon will supplant McCown as the starter, possibly even before the start of the regular season.
Question for you:
Did you watch the Glennon highlights youtube video linked in the Glennon “Cannon” thread? Many folks diss his mobility as being a “statue”, and ask for a single instance where MG8 avoided a sack. Please count how many plays in that video were extended by Glennon, and how often that resulted in a TD throw. In retrospect, even I was surprised. Maybe you will be too?

tickrdr…ha ha ha the wife and I are contemplating the seats (battling) at that moment. She doesn’t want to endure it all over again. I’m working on her. It was tough enough last year to get her to forgo our summer vacation for the tickets. We told the Buc rep that called about re-newel. No thanks. Well she did anyways.
We are getting them this season too only she doesn’t know it yet. The seats were in section 150 in the end zone row T. I think I can squeeze nosebleeds out of her though this season. I’ll keep you posted. Hell it’s free beer. Had another dude buy both of us a beer last season as well. He said “I never saw a fan get so damn loud at this stadium, you 2 want me to get you a beer while I’m up?” I thought that was cool as hell. Because I bring it when I go to the games. Loud if they are down by 20 points or if they are up by 20. I don’t stop from the 1st to the 4th.
The Atlanta game I saw some fans looking at me like I was nuts because I was still hollering in the 4th when our D was on the field and the Bucs already had the game in hand. I don’t stop. Much like JBF.lol

LOL. My daughter still laughs at me for giving the Bucs a one-man standing ovation a few years ago for getting their very first– first down, late in the 3rd quarter, and for a DEFENSIVE penalty for a late hit on Freeman out of bounds. I know first-hand what offensive suckitude looks like. (Is there such a word?)
I, too am a lunatic at the games, and try to holler from the moment the QB steps to the line, till the offensive center snaps the ball (12th man doncha know).
I am lucky enough to be in the East club seats Sect 234 AA 3-4 which are unbelievable for three reasons:
1) only 4 or 5 rows to inside where the little boys room is immediately to the left, and
2) The Crow’s Nest snack bar is immediately to the right. I can get to the restroom at the two minute warning to drain a rented beer, and get a fresh one next door, and back to my seats, all before the next play is run.
3) Best of all, our seats are under the overhang of the skyboxes above, so we never get wet if it rains, and are usually in the shade till fairly late in the game.
Nevertheless, I often wish I were sitting next to someone like you as many of the folks around me are either inside watching the game on TV (why in hell would you pay all that money to be AT the game, and then watch on TV???), or sitting on their hands hardly cheering,(trying to avoid getting a sunburn on their hands?), or worse yet spending the whole game texting on their phone?

you ask what was demeaning about the photo at the top of this thread? Are you that blind, or think that we are that stupid? First of all the caption puts Glennon down by suggesting he is a dumb guy that needs to be taught the game. How does your IQ compare to his? Have you ever written a positive article about how smart he is (Check his gpa)
Search the archives. Joe was actually first to dive in deep with Glennon about his Master’s degree in short time at NC State. And Joe has written many positive things about Glennon. –Joe

How many times have you printed it? I am sorry you were offended in my earlier post when I think I said you can dish it out but you cant take it. I just know that if I was a member of the local pen and mike club (what you call your group-who almost all does not like Glennon or want him on this team), I would really be ashamed to take the Glazers hospitality with free entrance to games, free food and drinks, and other perks along the way.
Perks? Joe works at games. It’s far more enjoyable to buy a ticket following a drunken tailgate. –Joe
I just don’t understand how a real Buc fan can say, If Glennon is the quarterback, I’ll root for him at the game but will not root for him between games..Yes it’s in the archives. When I first started visiting your site, I found you objective and fair with your evaluations but since you changed radio stations, your opinions have become jaded to this observer.
Very simple. Joe cheered for Tiquan Underwood but hoped beyond hope the Bucs would find better. Joe cheered for Bruce Gradkowski but couldn’t wait to learn who the new Bucs quarterback would be. Joe loved Jeff Garcia, but had his fingers crossed the oh-so-close deal with Brett Favre would have gone through. Joe cheered for serial loafer Sean Jones but knew he’d be out of football soon and needed to be far away from the Bucs. It’s not a tough concept — wanting better for your team. Joe cheered for the Devil Rays in the early years but couldn’t wait for a heaven to answer the prayers of Rays fans and gut the roster. –Joe
