Jason Licht Loves His “Twin Towers”

Bucs general manager Jason Licht was flashing an ear-to-ear grin at One Buc Palace tonight. The Bucs “got their guy” in wide receiver Mike Evans, Licht told Joe and assembled media.
The Bucs now have two gargantuan No. 1 wide receivers, Vincent Jackson and Evans. Licht dropped a nickname on them, “The Twin Towers.”
(Joe sure hopes the politically correct police don’t crack down on that, though Joe suspects they will.)
Evans is 6-5. 230 pounds. So is Jackson.
Joe asked Licht what stood out about Evans in private workouts the Bucs had with him.
Licht explained that 1-on-1 time with Evans revealed more than what he showed on his Texas A&M tape. Licht said Evans flashed better-than-expected skill getting out of his breaks, in addition to the coveted “mental toughness” the Bucs were seeking.

This is a disappointing. We had a good productive #2 wide receiver that we drafted in the 4th and traded for a 6th. So all we got was a replacement that hasnt proven himself in the NFL. How is that improving the team? At best we are staying in place. We could have gotten a starting WR in the 2nd round. Hope Mike is better than Clayton.

It will be a quite a duo with Evans and Jackson lining up on opposite sides of the field. This is just the 1st pick Guard,LB and QB can come later in the draft but Evans is a impact player who will help the Bucs offense immediately.

Not really happy with Evans. He’s a slower version of a young Vincent Jackson… we already have that slower version, his name is Vincent Jackson. We should’ve traded back a few picks if we wanted him.

Tedford will have a 4.3 package, Demps, Murphy, Owusu and also a basketball team package VJax, Evans, Wright, Streeter, Maneri. We can attack in different ways.

Another 1st rd pick wasted. What can you expect with the Bucs. I predict a new coach and GM in three years. A top ten pick should be a dominant player not a good safe player. If he is a VJackson clone then all we have is another 15th to 20th best wideout. Manziel would at the very least give us no blackouts. We are a team with no star power and average talent at best. I was just as let down with our coaching choice and you can see why…
