Breakdown Of Pass Rushers
May 8th, 2014If Bucs coach Lovie Smith picks true to his roots draft history, then he may select a pass rusher today or tomorrow. If he does that, it would speak volumes about the future of Adrian Clayborn and Da’Quan Bowers.
It wouldn’t shock Joe if this happened. So here’s fight-instigating, barista-training, pedestrian-bumping, olive oil-lapping, popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, beer-chugging, cricket-watching, scone-loathing, college football-naïve, baseball box score-reading Peter King of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports fame has a breakdown of the top pass rushers available – tonight!

The only passer rusher we need in the latter rounds is Micheal Sam

Here’s my mock for the Bucs
Round No. 1
QB Derek Carr
After Bortles, Manziel & Bridgewater get picked, the Bucs take the guy they wanted all along and the best of the remaining QBs.
Round No. 2
WR Kelvin Benjamin
After getting rid of Mike Williams, the Bucs need a solid number 2.
Round No. 3
OG Gabe Jackson
The Bucs need insurance in case OG Carl Nicks can’t return. They find it in Gabe.
Round No. 5
WR Devin Street
Height becomes the theme with Bucs WRs, relying on Eric Page for returns.
Round No. 6
DE Eathyn Manumaleuna
He has the football bloodline and even though he will enter the league at 25, he can force pressure opposite Michael Johnson. Expect him to actually compete for that other starting role.
Round No. 7
FB Trey Millard
Millard does it all. Short yardage runner, great lead blocker and pass blocker, and soft hands to catch the ball. Had an ACL injury that he is recovering from, so he may still need a little time. Could PS or PUP (or whatever it is now) until ready. Runs like Alstott, block like Neal.

As long as we don’t draft Manziel or Bridgewater this draft will be a success.

Was this funny at some point?

Chris, that’s based on a rumor from last week.
I don’t see it happening. In fact, I think the Falcons end up with Mack by staying put.

It’s just a way to add words, just skip the whole paragraph in red and you’ll be a happier person for it.

Buccaneer Bonzai: If Watkins is still there at 7, there is no way the Bucs pass on him for Derek Carr, imo.
May 8th, 2014 at 3:08 pm
Buccaneer Bonzai you have a lot of free time on your hands, don’t you have a job?
May 8th, 2014 at 3:33 pm
@adamant
Lovie Smith won’t take a WR in the first round. Ever. He is opposed to it and this draft reinforces his feelings because it is so WR deep.
May 8th, 2014 at 4:16 pm
Off topic but per Mike Florio:
7. Buccaneers: If Evans or Watkins are left, that’s the pick. Jay Glazer reports that the Manziel talk was a smokescreen
May 8th, 2014 at 4:54 pm
How bout grabbing another tall receiving option, either Evans or Ebron… Then going best available guard… Or speed slot WR with the second pick.
