Introducing Bucs QB Mike Kafka

April 30th, 2014

Despite being out of football for a year, quarterback Mike Kafka was hotly pursued by the Bucs and signed in February.

In this exclusive JoeBucsFan.com locker room video, Kafka talks about becoming a Buccaneer and you can enjoy coveted looks from last week’s first practices under Lovie Smith. Enjoy.

Thanks to the Buccaneers and NFL. By league rule, this video can only be seen for 24 hours after it’s published.

Not a single Franz Kafka pun in this whole post….very disappointed in you Joe

On another note….really liking the new helmets the more I see them

  2. Couch Fan Says:

How come you dont give Kafka a childish nickname like “The backup’s back up” like you do Glennon? Lol.

  3. Stevek Says:

    Couch Fan,

Lol, you know darn well Joe only writes about what (how) things Bucs that interest him/them.

You honestly think the Freemanites will ever give Glennon his due? Maybe when he’s on another team, and we will have realized we gave 60+ starts to the wrong QB.

Glennon is going to be a good player.

  4. P'cola Buc Says:

More than anything it looks like Lovie is going to make one thing especially clear with all the free agent signings. This is totally his team…. He wants to succeed and make sure there is absolutely no doubt that if he succeeds it was all him… No one can say “but this player or that was a Schiano Man”. Unfortunately, there is no other player most linked with Schiano but Mike Glennon…. He probably therefore must go. I like the kid but he most likely be playing for some other team. Hope we get lucky and draft a QB that potentially will succeed”!

History tells a different story about Lovie and “his” QBs, because the QB that was on the Bears when Lovie took over the team was a 3rd string back-up he kept. That same QB ended up starting for Lovie and took him to the Super Bowl. That QB was Rex Grossman.

  6. Chef Paul Says:

Dammit Kafka! Pop that dang zit! No one is going to take you seriously with that honker staring them in the eyes all day.

  7. P'cola Buc Says:

    Oar (Bobby) ?
I hear what your saying, but I believe Lovie has modified himself with his year off. After all even though he has a winning percentage he has never won a SB. That remains his ultimate goal. I sense that he realizes that “if you do what you always done…you get what you always got”. Therefore I believe he will be a little less conservative in his actions. He was so aggressive during spring training (his very recent past) showed him flexing his muscles a little more. We know he probably has more decision making power than he did in Chicago. It just seems to me that he wants to wipe Schiano’s fingerprints off this club. Also I’m sure he promised to Tedford that he will have his choice of QB to work with. If Glennon is this guy…. All the more power to Glennon. I too believe Glennon will improve….but considering the dynamic….perhaps not here.

  8. P'cola Buc Says:

Sorry ….. Free Agency Signing NOT …spring training……Damn those Tampa bay Devil Rays ……lol

  9. P'cola Buc Says:

    Those pesky “devils”….lol

Hold on now. I liked Freeman until his last year. I believe if he changes agents and gets his head on straight, he could still turn his career around.

I want to draft Derek Carr.

That said, I DO NOT hate Glennon. In point of fact, I do not want to trade him either, because there is a possibility he could be good.

Also, if McCown goes down, I don’t want Carr thrown to the wolves behind a bad oline.

And then he traded 2 first rounders and a third for Jay Cutler.

Please explain to me why this guy is on the roster and he might be any better than Glennon.
