Bucs Fever Is Spreading
March 29th, 2014Joe must confess he was blown away by last night’s turnout for the Buccaneers’ uniform unveiling party. Lovieball has fans jacked up to Glory Days levels.
The team reported more than 6,000 in attendance at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway. And various pictures of the season-pass-member event surely back up that number.
That’s pretty darn impressive for a Friday night in March.
The Bucs reported the following players in attendance (during their off time) to mingle with fans: Connor Barth, Da’Quan Bowers, Demar Dotson, Mason Foster, Steven Means, Eric Page, Bobby Rainey, Keith Tandy, Tim Wright, Michael Johnson, Alterraun Verner, Doug Martin, Gerald McCoy Evan Dietrich-Smith, Josh McCown, Louis Murphy and Brandon Myers.
And as Joe’s mentioned previously, the new uniforms look pretty darn sharp in person. Gerald McCoy had an answer for the remaining uniform critics, so he told Tom Krasniqi, of WDAE-AM 620.
“Hey, just come to the games and watch us win,” McCoy replied when asked about the fans who aren’t too keen on the new uniforms. “They won’t have anything to say when we start winning.”
Gasp! Could Lovieball fill the stadium? Could there be a return to a dozen years ago, when everywhere you went around town there were people wearing Bucs gear with pride? Damn, that would be something!

Can’t wait, it’s coming!!!

I will have to reserve judgment until I have a chance t see em live. So far I’m not sure I dig em. I thought that we already had the best uniforms and didn’t need to change em.

I know I am excited. Hope Lovie ball has an O-line. I have no doubt the D will be there
March 29th, 2014 at 10:35 am
Haven’t seen them in person, but I like the new Unis. Still not a big fan of the Numbers. Maybe if they took the little diagonal lines out of the corners, I could get used to them. But not a big deal!
March 29th, 2014 at 10:36 am
Some of us still wear our buc’s gear with pride! Although lately I must admit I haven’t expected much :/ but im excited for next year! Bout time someone attempted to fix sone glaring problems.
March 29th, 2014 at 10:43 am
We can do it!!

went to the team site and the uniforms arent too bad. I’m not a fan of the red jersey/dark pants combo. But the red tops/white pants set is pretty nice. And we all know the Bucs will be wearing white tops at home during Sept b/c of the heat so the white/white combo is pretty nice too.
March 29th, 2014 at 11:08 am
Go bucs
March 29th, 2014 at 11:27 am
Been awhile since I could pick up some replacement Bucs gear when I come to Florida each winter. Hopefully this trip will be good.
March 29th, 2014 at 11:43 am
Now to anchor that O-Line with our 1st…or WR! Pretty sure Mack wont fall to us…
March 29th, 2014 at 12:02 pm
Much of the optimism comes from the fact that we finally have a proven coach who was schooled in Buc ball. For better or worse, Lovie is no mystery.
More optimism abound because the new GM seem to understand what type of players are needed and he has not reached in FA.
I’m good with the timing of the new uni’s too.
March 29th, 2014 at 12:41 pm
I was there last night and it was a great experience. Very well run and the players were very accessible. My 7 year old son got to meet and take pics with Michael Johnson, Bowers, wright, Tandy and Barth. All of them signed his Buccaneers football too. The uniforms definitely look great in person. Can’t wait for the draft! Go Bucs!!
March 29th, 2014 at 12:48 pm
I don’t post on here often. I just read the entertaining comments. I was there and was wearing my 54 proudly. And I did not like the new jerseys until I saw them in person. The material Nike used is pretty cool. The colors are much better in person. It kinda looks more like a t-shirt when you wear it. Needless to say, I walked out with a new 54. Most of you will like it when you see them in person.
March 29th, 2014 at 12:57 pm
I wear my gear with pride too here in Iowa. And believe or not, I get compliments more than grief. People think its great that I love and support my team from a half the country away despite our rough few years. Kind of a back handed compliment, but I’ll take it.
March 29th, 2014 at 1:18 pm
Seriously, please do NOT buy these uniforms people. If they sell well, we’re stuck with them. I love my team, but the uniforms are just hideous.
March 29th, 2014 at 1:29 pm
Get over it Patrick. The new uniforms are pretty cool in person. They are likely here to stay.
March 29th, 2014 at 1:29 pm
I’m a magic and bucs fan and will always wear my teams apparel with pride
March 29th, 2014 at 1:34 pm
PR has a photo that is horrible.

I’m sure they look better in person, but they sure are not camera friendly.
March 29th, 2014 at 1:37 pm
The new Uni’s look horrible on the pictures. But they look great if you’ve seen them in the right lighting. Everything matches and they look sharp. I agree the number are a little weird looking but a winning season will make them look fantastic. FIRED UP!!!
March 29th, 2014 at 1:38 pm
Wait…you mean to tell me Mike Williams didn’t show up????? That’s crazy I thought he’d be the first guy there…
March 29th, 2014 at 1:40 pm
Now that the Little General ha been banished I may move back to Florida.
I will not ever wear jersey with another man’s name on it unless the player has died. Do they make the new jersies with Selmon 63 or Bell 42?
March 29th, 2014 at 1:52 pm
I think is already happening! We proved it last night! As far as Lovieball I’m pretty sure everybody is excited going by all the chanting ” Lovie”, “Lovie” last night! So ready for the season! Go Bucs!
March 29th, 2014 at 2:11 pm
Why does the guy with the white beard stand out in the crowd?
March 29th, 2014 at 2:17 pm
There is no proof in the pudding until people have to pay admission. Good or bad uniforms will not refill RayJay. Although I will continue to buy my weekly scalper tickets to sit right up front. (and there will still be many many to choose from, guaranteed) I won’t be buying any of the new gear. If it only looks good “In a certain light” then they don’t look good “ALL” the time. Sorry, if you have to force or explain why it looks good, you have a major fail on your hands. Did they have to explain why the Red and Pewter looked awesome? No, because your eye told you it looked awesome. You didn’t have to have someone explain to you why they were sweet. As far as the new numerals go? That is the only place they got it right. The old numbers were often hard to discern. SOmetimes 88 looked like 86 in the stands and 89 looked like 88. The spaces in the digits often ran together making lines look solid when in fact they were not and vice versa. Oh well, I predict these uni’s will not have the long shelf life of it’s two predecessors so I will just wait for the next incarnation.
March 29th, 2014 at 2:26 pm
Get rid of the alarm clock numbers and the orange and then they will look halfway decent. I’m sorry but there was absolutely no reason to fix what wasn’t broken. Saw a side by side comparison of the new and old uniform and the pewter and red is hands down better. I like the helmets and maybe the new font but the logo looked like a kindergartener tried to draw the old one. I do like the “BUCS” being on the sleeve though.
Hey, if they win the Super Bowl in these things (hell, if they even MAKE IT to the SB) they could wear clown suits for all I care. But IMO this was an unneccesary change and I hope the Glazers come to their senses before they do something else stupid like move the team to LA or London.
March 29th, 2014 at 2:41 pm
They just can’t leave well enough alone on the uniforms. Whose dumb idea was this?
March 29th, 2014 at 2:51 pm
Ahahahaha
I’m glad that what I said would happen is happening, people would eventually see the light on these new uni’s once they saw them in person.
Would you look at that, how the masses change.
March 29th, 2014 at 3:08 pm
Freeman said he was sorry that he missed the party. His neighbor forgot to wake him up.
March 29th, 2014 at 3:29 pm
I don’t get how those that don’t care for the new uni’s, think somehow if the Bucs don’t rake it in on merchandise sales, that they’ll all of a sudden going to switch them out for another new look, that is ridiculous-not gonna happen! Like it or not, these new uniforms are here and likely for a couple of decades, it will become the look of the Bucs like it or not, perhaps the red jerseys will be worn on throwback days, but lets embrace what now represents our team and deal with it, your reluctance is not gonna change a thing!
March 29th, 2014 at 4:57 pm
I was there last night. It was over sold. They let too any people into an area that was too small for the crowd. I didn’t get one free drink, food, or beer because every line was too long. I literally went in, did one pass thought the shoulder to shoulder crowd and left. And as people left, there was still a crowd outside since they reached capacity so if one person left, one person could enter.
March 29th, 2014 at 5:37 pm
Was really disappointed when there weren’t white pants to go w the red jerseys in the initial unveiling……so glad that they didn’t ditch the white pants.
Becoming more and more of a fan of the new unis
March 29th, 2014 at 8:26 pm
I won’t buy one of these jerseys at all. So embrace this.
March 29th, 2014 at 11:19 pm
” the masses change”
These uniforms sucks ass.
March 29th, 2014 at 11:35 pm
We wore creamsicle for over twenty years. These uniforms are fine. Glad to see more excitement from the fanbase.

Right on. Nobody cares what some people around here think so STFU.

Who said all this? Where was this said? On JBF? Where?

I have’t found the new jerseys with sewn on numbers and logos … Does anyone know where to find them. All the ones on line are iron on logos
