Lovie: Come Home, Old Bucs
January 6th, 2014It was a lovefest at One Buc Palace this afternoon, a homecoming of sorts.
Why, Joe thought it was a bunch of Middle Eastern clerics meditating he heard the word “home” so much and so often.
But it’s not just home for Lovie and his family. So too is it home for former Bucs players, stars, Hall of Famers. And Lovie wanted to make sure they knew One Buc Palace was home, and should visit early and often.
This subject came up when Lovie was asked if he hoped he could lure former great linebacker Derrick Brooks to take a front office position with the team.
Lovie noted he doesn’t have the pull to hire front office types (except for the general manager position, apparently) but would welcome Brooks in any capacity with open arms.
Lovie then offered a kind request for all ex-Bucs not to be strangers and to visit home regularly.

Listened to it all. Sounds great. Let’s see how it all translates from paper to the field.

Does that include Dexter Jackson? (the good Dexter Jackson)

Damn it I missed the presser. I hope they put it back up on Buc.com.
I guess that’s what happens when your mind is on your college team all day long.
GO NOLES!

I miss the buc realist. He was always so negative. Got his boy Dom fired and left! Happy TBR is gone. On to more positive thoughts.

It’s good to see that Lovie is embracing the past. Hopefully he will create his own legacy in Tampa with a new era of great players. Lovie understands the culture of the team and city, which is part of the reason he makes sense as the Bucs HC. A seemingly stark contrast compared to the previous coach.

It was nice to see LOvie acknowledge Mike Alston in the audience, that is one former Buc who should be brought back in too!
