Licht’s Four-Hour Chat With Lovie
January 23rd, 2014New Bucs general manager Jason Licht sat down with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620, and shared plenty about his experience and philosophies this afternoon.
Among other topics, Licht told the story of his first interview/meeting with Lovie Smith in Tampa was supposed to be a chat followed by heading out to dinner for further discussion. But Licht said they never left the office and all of a sudden four hours were gone and it was 11 p.m.
Licht also said the key to a great organization is “no friction” between the front office and the head coach, and in all directions throughout the football staff.

I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m amazed at how much hinges on Tedford. These other guys seem reallllly concerned about the defense and the draft. But we need an infusion of talent on offense. Mike, Doug and Vince can’t carry this offense by themselves. We need at least two other weapons who can be effective (I’m sorry, I’m not one of the Timmy Wright sycophants. He’s a nice little piece but can easily be upgraded.). I’d love to see a guy who can stretch the field and a TE who is a dual threat. As for QB…I…I jut don’t know. I feel exhausted about it.

Rastaman- if you’ve been a hoper since 76 then u have nothing to worry about. We already did it. Won a Super Bowl. There can only be hopers since 03

Sycophants? Guess I’m one of them. We shall see.

I’m getting tired of waiting for a “franchise” QB. I mean why can’t they make better evaluations on who they choose?? It’s exhausting. Our team is ready all they need is a reliable QB…..

Niko…I’ve been a hoper since 87. That Super Bowl win meant a helluva lot to me and still does.
I’m 43 now. I’d like to see the Bucs in another before I die. I’m not banking on it.
