He is what we need on offense, and kick return. Look at Patterson for the Vikings as a return man..all pro game changer. And Boyd is solid competition for Glennon without the first round price tag.
I don’t know if there was a bigger issue than WR for us this year. Aside from Jackson, no one could get any separation. We have no one that can turn something into nothing. In fact, we haven’t had that in a really really long time. Granted Williams was hurt, but injuries happen. If you don’t have 3 legit Wr’s in today’s NFL, you’ve got nothing. Plus, by reading his twitter, I am very worried about Williams. I really hope he hasn’t gotten his money and got comfortable, but that’s my fear.
I’m jumping on the Watkins bandwagon too. The guy is a playmaker any where on the field.I would be happy to take him at #7.
Frazier says he’s committed to joining the Bucs as DC. This will work out fine as Frazier will be in holding pattern for a couple of years until his ticket comes up for HC again.
Marinelli has 1 year remaining on his contract in Dallas. When that is up he will surely join Lovie in Tampa. Frazier could move into the role of Asst. HC and take on the role similar to Butch Davis. Marinelli can then become DC. These guys are wedded at the hip. It’s just a matter of time before the reunion!
The Joe’s are slippin… Why no story yet on LVD & GMC named All-Pros? Also, Leslie Frazier is our new DC… Here’s a nice thought… If we bring in Jared Allen, Julius Peppers, Charles Tillman, & draft Sammy Watkins, we might go to the Superbowl next year. Even with the big white (super genius) giraffe at QB.
It’s not the 16 mil a year that bugs me, it’s what we gave up to get him in the 1st round pick we traded. If he gets traded it better be for something good.
We don’t have a 3rd and 6th rounder and you want to give up more picks to get the number 1 overall!? Did we already forget who’s picking 2nd and why? And that was for the number 2 overall. Draft Sammy at 7!!!
Exactly. Giving up pretty much our whole draft for a rookie QB to play behind a bad 0-line and very few weapons is your answer to getting us a winning season?
Anyways I trust what Lovie will do ultimately and it was more meant in a joking manner but just saying the choice is there for Bridgewater who in my opinion also is going to end up a special player and he would be that franchise QB we’ve been looking for.
If we are that desperate, don’t think it won’t be looked into haha.
And I like Watkins but the kid would be a luxury pick.
One good thing about having a lot of holes is that we can truly go best player available. We could use a tackle, a DE, a WR, a QB, or a Guard. I think our biggest need is getting help of the offensive side of the ball. I think even if we stand pat on defense, Lovie and Frazier will put our defense into one of the top 6 or 7 in the league. I don’t see Tedford, or any OC for that matter, making us a top 6 or 7 offense as presently constructed. But again, if Clowney is there at 7, how do you pass him up?
It’s a good thing I’m not a GM, because I’ve fallen in love with Watkins, and I’ve only seen him play once, lol. He’d be my impulsive, uneducated, pick.
There’s a bunch of quality High & Mid level talent- this year at DE DT & CB(FA). IMO we need to bring in some proven vets at those positions. It was sad to hear GMC say this year that he’s never had ANY veteran leadership on the line to help him out.
Remember last years number 1 overall pick. Did nothing this year. We can fill holes on both side of the line in free agency. You don’t pass on a Julio jones type wr in Watkins who btw….just scored again. Luxury my arss lol
I say add veterans through FA for DE. .BPA in draft I say Watkins, but clowny(slim chance),barr, mack, Matthews would be smart too even though OL makes me sick in top15..
Ya cuz our what 32 ranked offense and aging number 1 wr who gets caught and drops often (this year) and number 2 coming off injury couldn’t use some speed. Cuz we’re stacked at weapons on O outside of Martin right lol not a luxury pick
That’s where I disagree with you. I happen to believe that WR is our biggest need. You know I’m not a huge Glennon fan, but he had no one but Jackson to throw the ball to last year. Can you imagine what would happen if Jackson missed a game? We may not be able to get a first down. If your WR’s can’t get open, it doesn’t matter how good your line is.

IMO Its not our biggest need, they’ll bring in more talent through FA at WR before they pass on need with the talent that will be available on the defensive side/oline and possibly QB position in this draft.
Don’t get me wrong, Everytime I’ve watched any of the offensive players for Clemson the last few years, all you can do is sake your head in disbelief. Their that damn good.
But outside of the following players at this position I don’t see quality LT in Free Agency. Word is Eugene Monroe & Jordan Gross are staying put.

I don’t think we are well off at all at WR. Mike Williams is tweeting tonight about how he needs 10 girls to be in a music video, and he’s paying them at least $500 each. That’s a bit of a concern for me. I’ve yet to see him tweet once about rehabbing. And he tweets a lot. I practically know when he goes to the bathroom.
How is WR a luxury when you had THE WORST OFFENSE IN THE LEAGUE??? You can’t say that about any other area of our team… Our offensive line was trying their best to take complete credit for our suck-a$$ offense, but it’s more than that. Either way, I like luxury. That’s all we’re saying BucFan.
I truly believe Mikey will benefit from a legit inside threats(one that can block)
Detroit has major cap concerns this year because Ndamukong Suh’s contract balloons up $22,412,500 in 2014. Because on Mar 14 2013 Restructured 2013 base salary from $12.15 million to $630k. IMO Brandon Pettigrew would be solid
Along with (Drafting in the later Rounds)
Kelvin Benjamin WR Florida State 6-5 235
Josh Huff WR Oregon 5-11 202
Glennon was NOT the problem for us this season, our Offensive Line was; that unit cost us this season period! they were putrid this year; with the exception of about 3 games…we had no depth at WR behind Jackson (whom was banged up most of the year himself); thank God Tim Wright emerged…our starting RB for the last 8 games was literally picked up off the street…and the offensive play-calling was suspect all year…
We’re all passionate about our Bucs so we’re all entitled to our opinion….I just believe that all of those factors listed above have to be taken into consideration before completely giving up on Glennon…Imo played very well considering the circumstances…
Let’s not get our hopes up too high on Watkins. That stupid Shanahan sold his soul to the Rams to get RG 3 sticks. The Rams have the 2nd pick and if I know Fisher, his mouth is watering bout now! Let’s hope he stays greedy and trades out for even more picks. There oughta be a law!
Leslie Frazier welcome aboard sir. Really getting pumped up. Get Dungy in there. Having this staff without Dungy almost seems odd. Lets make him, I dont know, the useless position that Butch Davis held. I mean what in the world did Butch even do? Does anybody know?
I post this draft BS every year. Last year when I found out that Taylor Lewan was staying in school. I started beating the drums for Ziggy, Sio Moore, Robert alford, Terron Armstead, and Kenny Still (among others). This year I’m sending it to One Buc just to say I did it. lol
Yea I thought of that possibility to. Luckily St. Louis also needs a tackle and Mathews is one of the best players available in the draft so I’m hoping they go that route. Knowing our luck though, they dont.
there are no decent free agent qb’s this year. the talent level for our other holes is greater in freeagency than the qb position. draft qb, get oline, dline help in free agency.
watkins looks great but who will get him the ball? mike james on a trick play?…lol
Watkins is not a luxury pick, he’s a need pick. We need a speed WR that can take the top off a defense. M. Williams is a solid WR but he’s overrated and can’t get separation.
I don’t know nor, I hear that kid out of Auburn LT Greg Robinson is coming out early. Kids a freaking man child. And he can seriously block out the sun. Cant wait to see how he matches up against FSU.
I would be A OK with Sammy. He was already regarded as the best WR in the draft but now his stock is off the charts high. Fisher might be licking his lips.
My old football coach use to say “U cant coach speed…U either have or U don’t”…
The things I luv most about Sammy Watkins is he has size, speed, versatility, hands, and heart…We could line him up inside, outside, in the backfield, punts, kick-offs, etc…If he makes it past the Rams I think we should tak’em at 7…If Watkins and Clowney are gone take the Offensive Tackle….
I saw some of your posts above and wondered if someone was on your pc…lol
I hope, like every buc fan that lovie does well, and many are guessing 7-8 wins. that will not put us in position to get a qb next year or after…the aaron rodgers slide is haley’s comet rare.
why not double our chances at qb? if the rook fails, we still have glennon to do what he did this year. we still need a few pieces and will not get them all this year, but I think this year is the best chance at a qb.
After the last two players we drafted out of Clemson, before tonight, I’d say HELL NO to drafting anyone out of Clemson. Watkins is Megatron Jr, we cannot pass up the chance to draft this guy if (big IF) he’s still there at 7! I’m a Watkins believer after tonight, he can make Dan Orlovsky or possibly even Shaun King look like a HOF’r!
I could see the Ram’s taking Watkins but that would leave Matthew’s and/or Barr to the Buc’s – so that’s not a bad thing at all! I also can see a trade between the Bucs and Rams – if this were to happen, the Bucs would have the second pick and would take J. Clowney…The Ram’s picking at 7 would have a pick of one or both of their favorites being Matthew’s or Watkins…Ram’s make out for the second year in a Row!!
Buc come away with the best DE in a generation…the compensation for this? I don’t really know – certainly their second and maybe even the first next year…I believe it would be worth it however becuz what Clowney would do for this D there is No way that first round pick in 2015 would be any higher than a mid 20 IMHO (getting to the QB has been a Big Buc achilles heel) – Its worth it based on the teams current talent and depth and hopeful free agent pick ups…
No way Lovie lets Revis walk. A great coach adjusts to his players and gets the best out of them. Lovie is smart enough not to let the one of the top 3 CB in the league walk just because of some minor schematic details.
We do not need to draft a WR, DE, G, or TE in the first round. Michael Bennett was undrafted and produced just fine. Donald Penn, and Demar Dotson were also undrafted and the tackle play this year was excellent. Davin Joesph was a first rounder and is terrible and Nick was a 5th round pick. Mike Williams and V-Jack are our 1 and 2 and you don’t draft a WR 1st to play the slot.
The NFL is a QB driven league and if you do not have an ELITE QB nothing else matters. We need someone as good or better than Brees, Ryan, and Newton and unless you want to gamble over and over again with the 1 in a million to find another Brady late in the draft we need a QB first.
With the Texans making it known they are willing to trade #1. We need to pull a swap of picks and pounce on Clowney while he’s still there. No way in hell he lasts to our pick at #7!

Just seen that Lavonte David made the All Pro team.
So much for the Pro Bowl voting system.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:04 pm
Sammy Watkins round 1 then Taj after. Love that combo.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:05 pm
Joe,
Where’s the Sammy Watkins Open Thread??? Just one for Johnny Football?
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:06 pm
6 for sammie watkins

I’ve been wanting Sammie since the end of last year. He will be a stud and would be fantastic in the slot next to V-jax and Mike W.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:25 pm
This is my first time seeing a full game of Sammy Watkins. So far, very impressed, obviously.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:28 pm
Many people has him going to us prior to love coming into the picture
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:30 pm
Sammy Watkins looks awesome.

January 3rd, 2014 at 10:41 pm
Watkins has been outstanding in this game, a one man wrecking crew.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:42 pm
I think I’m developing a new man crush on Sammy Watkins. That means there’s no way in hell we are going to draft him.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:46 pm
Frazier is our D coordinator
He’s the better coordinator.
Rod is elite when it comes to D line, he’ll be missed
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:47 pm
His brother is a beast to (Jaylen Watkins ) db for the Gators. Although I think he still has a year left in college.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:49 pm
News just broke on Leslie
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:16 pm
Leslie Frazier bucs DC!!
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:24 pm
Well Watkins is somewhat of a luxury pick because the Bucs have bigger issues…but if he’s there at 7 then I will have a hard time saying no.

Yea I was going to say
Marinelli will join us in 2015
If Jones thinks he’ll get Marinelli to extend by offering him DC after he blocked him from joining his best friend he’s mistaken.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:36 pm
The O-line was just as big a problem as receivers. I think both are huge issues. Which is why I am so against drafting a QB in the first round.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:37 pm
The Joe’s are slippin… Why no story yet on LVD & GMC named All-Pros? Next year is the QB you trade the farm for.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:50 pm

Not smart to me.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:53 pm
Next year that wouldn’t happen
Nobody will give up the first pick when its a once in a generation player like Winston.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:58 pm
Anyways I trust what Lovie will do ultimately and it was more meant in a joking manner but just saying the choice is there for Bridgewater who in my opinion also is going to end up a special player and he would be that franchise QB we’ve been looking for.
If we are that desperate, don’t think it won’t be looked into haha.
And I like Watkins but the kid would be a luxury pick.
We’ll pick d line before that
January 4th, 2014 at 12:00 am
@ prbucfan
Heard the same talk about Clowney this time last year….
January 4th, 2014 at 12:03 am
Clowney is no Winston 😉
January 4th, 2014 at 12:05 am
I need 2 years before I believe that lol

Hopefully the following coaches will join his staff as well
Mike Singletary
Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers

Joe Woods

You’ll get it
January 4th, 2014 at 12:10 am
Yea I agree Hawaiian
Lovie would snatch him up in a heartbeat
Just depends who would be left at the QB position and if we get Allen or Hardy in FA
January 4th, 2014 at 12:12 am
Yeah, I don’t see how we don’t go Oline with the 1st pick.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:12 am
Watkins scores again.

I’ve been touting Watkins for our pick for a good while now (check the archives). Tell me he wouldn’t be the playmaker this offense desperately needs.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:20 am
Depends whose available and what we do with our pick
Better bet if its Watkins vs Clowney
Clowney would get picked first based on the fact that Clowney is need not luxury
January 4th, 2014 at 12:20 am
A receiver in a passing league does not sound like a luxury pick when you only have 2 and 1 is aging.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:21 am
Sammy Watkins can’t be covered.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:21 am

Please draft Sammy Lovie…
Watkins in the slot with Jackson and Williams outside, Doug in the backfield, and Tim Wright at TE would be flat out nasty…
Of’course our Offensive line would have to block somebody…
January 4th, 2014 at 12:22 am
IMO
Lovie would take Mack or Barr over him too
January 4th, 2014 at 12:23 am

Good for you Nate, i’m done talking about it
January 4th, 2014 at 12:42 am
@Macabee
Good Point
January 4th, 2014 at 12:42 am
222 yards good god. He is tearing it up tonight.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:42 am
@PRBucFan
Against the world bro? lol
January 4th, 2014 at 12:43 am
Lol nothing wrong with disagreeing. It keeps things interesting.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:43 am
It’s an expression buddy
January 4th, 2014 at 12:44 am
True true lol
January 4th, 2014 at 12:44 am
I still prefer using this high pick on a QB and I understand it means other glaring holes will go unfilled.
Just don’t think Glennon is the guy.
Gotta think long term.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:45 am
Lol, I hear u man.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:47 am
@Eric
I feel you E, Mike solid though. Maybe grab a vet with a few wins under his belt, along with drafting a rook in the later rounds.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:52 am
Reply to Eric…
January 4th, 2014 at 12:53 am
Let’s not get our hopes up too high on Watkins. That stupid Shanahan sold his soul to the Rams to get RG 3 sticks. The Rams have the 2nd pick and if I know Fisher, his mouth is watering bout now! Let’s hope he stays greedy and trades out for even more picks. There oughta be a law!
January 4th, 2014 at 12:55 am
Leslie Frazier welcome aboard sir. Really getting pumped up. Get Dungy in there. Having this staff without Dungy almost seems odd. Lets make him, I dont know, the useless position that Butch Davis held. I mean what in the world did Butch even do? Does anybody know?
January 4th, 2014 at 12:55 am
I post this draft BS every year. Last year when I found out that Taylor Lewan was staying in school. I started beating the drums for Ziggy, Sio Moore, Robert alford, Terron Armstead, and Kenny Still (among others). This year I’m sending it to One Buc just to say I did it. lol
January 4th, 2014 at 12:57 am
@Cody
I with you on that bro
January 4th, 2014 at 12:57 am
“good for me”??? confused right now.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:59 am
Damn WR Tracy Moore for OKC is a nice prospect too.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:03 am
Cmurda from what i’ve hear Frazier was the better *Coordinator anyways.
Rod was just elite with the DLine.
Eitherway he’ll be reunited with his bestfriend once the last year of his contract is up and we’ll have his services than 😀
January 4th, 2014 at 1:05 am
@Macabee
Yea I thought of that possibility to. Luckily St. Louis also needs a tackle and Mathews is one of the best players available in the draft so I’m hoping they go that route. Knowing our luck though, they dont.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:05 am
First, welcome aboard, Leslie! Tune in every Tuesday night for the Leslie and Lovie Show. Sounds kinda…… but as long as they win, I’m good! lol
January 4th, 2014 at 1:07 am
@Macabee
Lol, I hear you. Damn shame to have that many premium picks allotted to you. The man can wheel in deal what can I say.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:08 am
there are no decent free agent qb’s this year. the talent level for our other holes is greater in freeagency than the qb position. draft qb, get oline, dline help in free agency.
watkins looks great but who will get him the ball? mike james on a trick play?…lol
January 4th, 2014 at 1:08 am
LMAO Macabee. Watch it Chris Kluwe is listening to everything we write. Bwahahaha.
Sounds good to me PR. Get Marinelli in there so I can have an Italian back on the staff. One I actually like this time.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:09 am
Watkins is not a luxury pick, he’s a need pick. We need a speed WR that can take the top off a defense. M. Williams is a solid WR but he’s overrated and can’t get separation.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:11 am
@Couch Fan
I don’t know nor, I hear that kid out of Auburn LT Greg Robinson is coming out early. Kids a freaking man child. And he can seriously block out the sun. Cant wait to see how he matches up against FSU.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:11 am
I would be A OK with Sammy. He was already regarded as the best WR in the draft but now his stock is off the charts high. Fisher might be licking his lips.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:12 am
Boyd with the costly pick. Uh oh.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:12 am
* I don’t know bro (correction)
January 4th, 2014 at 1:12 am
Bad move for the Gators! Great for Charlie Strong, new coach at Texas. Shoulda been the next Gator coach. Anyway congrats to Charlie!
January 4th, 2014 at 1:14 am
wow….these have been some great bowl games this year, i’m sure everyone can agree on that.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:14 am
@Luv
As long as they dont take Sammy. I’ll be good. Lol, there are lots of ways we can go that I would be happy with. That’s just my personal favorite.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:16 am
Lurker the more I think about it
Unless Jeff and Lovie absolutely want Glennon I believe they make a move for a QB if at the very least to legitimately compete with him.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:16 am
Agreed, lots of good games. FSU VS. Auburn will be another good one.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:19 am
Mac
With the rumors of Al being a bum and leaving UM I wanted Strong at the U.
Booo lol
January 4th, 2014 at 1:19 am
@lurker
Yes Sirrrrrrr
January 4th, 2014 at 1:22 am
@ Que…
U R so right my friend…
My old football coach use to say “U cant coach speed…U either have or U don’t”…
The things I luv most about Sammy Watkins is he has size, speed, versatility, hands, and heart…We could line him up inside, outside, in the backfield, punts, kick-offs, etc…If he makes it past the Rams I think we should tak’em at 7…If Watkins and Clowney are gone take the Offensive Tackle….
January 4th, 2014 at 1:23 am
Wow another great finish in the Miz bowl game lol
January 4th, 2014 at 1:24 am
wow prbucfan, is that really you?
I saw some of your posts above and wondered if someone was on your pc…lol
I hope, like every buc fan that lovie does well, and many are guessing 7-8 wins. that will not put us in position to get a qb next year or after…the aaron rodgers slide is haley’s comet rare.
why not double our chances at qb? if the rook fails, we still have glennon to do what he did this year. we still need a few pieces and will not get them all this year, but I think this year is the best chance at a qb.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:26 am
Yea its me hahaha 😀
Agreed
January 4th, 2014 at 1:26 am
excited for the championship bowl game Monday! go noles…
January 4th, 2014 at 1:30 am
ACC!
I’m kinda bummed with the news of Al Golden possibly leaving UM.
There goes our monster 2014 Draft class lol
January 4th, 2014 at 1:31 am
PRBuc,
Rumors are flying all over the place. I heard that Butch Davis and/or Schiano might be candidates at The U. Old stomping ground, you know!
January 4th, 2014 at 1:33 am
My fear is Williams is our next Clayton….fur coat and all.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:34 am
Please no QB with the 1st pick…I don’t want another rookie QB starting next season…
Imho, WR and OL are bigger needs than QB for us…
January 4th, 2014 at 1:34 am
I know bro, I know Schiano had a past of being a great recruiter and what not but I’m all Schiano’d out lol.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:38 am
After the last two players we drafted out of Clemson, before tonight, I’d say HELL NO to drafting anyone out of Clemson. Watkins is Megatron Jr, we cannot pass up the chance to draft this guy if (big IF) he’s still there at 7! I’m a Watkins believer after tonight, he can make Dan Orlovsky or possibly even Shaun King look like a HOF’r!
January 4th, 2014 at 1:38 am
that would be ironical if schiano went to the u…
if we don’t select a qb, i would want Sammy Watkins.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:41 am
st. louis need a lt but will they pass on Watkins? cleveland or oakland might move up.
January 4th, 2014 at 1:42 am
QB, Clowney, Watkins, Mack, Barr is my list in order right now
January 4th, 2014 at 1:53 am
Mike will does not get great seperation.. what he does is make plays when given the chance.With.that being said,Sammy is wat we need
January 4th, 2014 at 3:22 am
January 4th, 2014 at 10:52 am
No way Lovie lets Revis walk. A great coach adjusts to his players and gets the best out of them. Lovie is smart enough not to let the one of the top 3 CB in the league walk just because of some minor schematic details.
January 4th, 2014 at 11:01 am
January 4th, 2014 at 3:16 pm
LUVMYBUCS Says
“Hopefully the following coaches will join his staff as well
Mike Singletary
Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers
&
Joe Woods
Defensive Backs”
That would ease my concerns somewhat. Those would be good coaches.
January 4th, 2014 at 8:49 pm
@ QB, you obviously didn’t watch Watkins last night, he’s five times better than Mike Williams!
January 5th, 2014 at 12:07 pm
With the Texans making it known they are willing to trade #1. We need to pull a swap of picks and pounce on Clowney while he’s still there. No way in hell he lasts to our pick at #7!
