Revis Thinks The Bucs Are Cured

December 8th, 2013

Oh, these Bucs had demons and monsters living under their beds.

Winning was light years away six weeks ago. Hell, the Bucs seemed to be professional losers, but it all changed fast.

Darrelle Revis thinks the answer is simple.

“I remember when we were in the slump of losing, I was just saying, ‘One win cures everything.’ And once we got our first win, I think this team really got used to, ‘Hey, hey, we know how to win now,'” Revis said today. “So I feel like it was that kind of thing. And we just kept on rolling; we got three in a row, we actually lost one last week and we won this one. You know once you get on a winning streak, that momentum can go for a while.”

Joe’s heard the same kind of stuff from various Bucs leaders.

Dashon Goldson said today the gelling just took a little too long.

“We just got tighter as a team,’ Goldson said. “We started to understand what we had to do. We started to zero in and focus more on our assignments and playing as a team. That was one of the things we stressed out of training camp that we had to play together and understand what we’re doing on defense. Guys started to zero in and lock in on what’s important.”

Now Joe will believe the Bucs are cured of their bad streaks under the New Schiano Order as long as the team doesn’t reel off three losses in a row to ring in the new year.

That just can’t happen.

I’m just glad Schiano is gonna get a 3rd year. The guy clearly deserves it. I mean look at him, he walks and talks like a head coach.

And next season he will win, and get a 4th year. Great coach. Much better than Raheem.

  2. Captain Stagger Says:

Revis isn’t really the type to sugar coat…..

  3. Clowney Says:

Just add a new coaching staff, a new GM, a pass rushing monster from South Carolina, a quality QB in the 2nd round and they’re good to go.

If anyone thinks Glennon is anything but the 4th best QB in this division, they need to remove their blinders. Opponents just have to disrupt his timing, force him to run to his left and he’s quite harmless.

  4. John Says:

Clowney who quit playing at sc needs to stay off this team

  5. Eric Says:

Can’t believe I’m saying this but this is like the turnaround Tony had in his first year here.

    Really fine coaching.

    Amazing.

    Is that really you, Eric?

  7. Mr. Patrick Says:

I will be convinced when I see them actually beat a good team. Winning against fellow bottom dwellers and teams in slumps does not make you a good team. I have a feeling that reaching a level of mediocrity will not satisfy the Glazers and it certainly won’t put fans in the seats at Ray Jay.

  8. FLBoyInDallas Says:

    @Patrick,

They have to reach the level they’re at right now before they can reach the level you’re talking about. Next year is a legitimate playoff year.

  9. Jerry Says:

Detroit is a talented team we beat. We should have beat the Seahawks also.

Teams like Miami and Buffalo are teams the Bucs should be beating…we are better than those teams on paper.

We’ve got some holes and the coaches need to get better in the 2nd half of games, but we are not as bad as our record indicates.

  10. Eric Says:

Yeah it’s along way from winning the Division or a playoff game. However, if you consider where they were crawling out of that hole has to be admired.

He’s got a lot more to prove but he’s earned the opportunity to do it, IMO.

Schiano will be a Great Head coach, and we are beginning to see some results. He didn’t come here with a short-term approach.. he came with a build it to last approach! Next year will turn alot of heads!
