Greg Schiano Misses Halftime Interview
December 29th, 2013Now Joe just knows some fans will state this isn’t a story. But Joe knows a story.
Each game, home or away, preseason or postseason (remember those?), the head coach of the Bucs always has a few remarks to the sideline reporter for the Buccaneer Radio Network as he walked off the field at halftime.
Until today. For the first time going back to the halcyon days of Chucky, local radio insiders told Joe, a Bucs head coach did not conduct a halftime interview during the broadcast produced by the Bucs.
Joe texted several radio types, including those involved with producing the broadcast heard on the Buccaneers Radio Network, but no one knew why Schiano didn’t conduct the interview.
To be fair, there may have been a technical glitch, but if there was, none was reported during the game broadcast.
Could it have been that Bucs commander Greg Schiano was so irate at halftime he thought better not to do an interview for fear he may say something he would later regret? Is he beginning to feel the heat of a possible coaching change by Team Glazer, or was it indeed a technical problem?
It just seems very ominous that for the first time in over a decade, maybe longer, a Bucs coach did not offer a few words at halftime, and it just so happens to be in a season-ending blowout that the current coach may not survive.
UPDATE: Joe just received a text from a source very close to the Bucs coaching staff that stated Schiano was so focused on turning around the game at halftime, given how the first half ended, that the halftime interview innocently slipped his mind. Joe was told it was not a snub to the Buccaneers Radio Network in any way, that Schiano has no issues with the halftime interviews.

Meh
Maybe he just didn’t feel like dealing with question about his job security or Penn State.
Or maybe he just didn’t feel like it lol
Either way, I’m ready for changes.

Can you blame him

He was on the phone with Penn State.

If you think T.J. Rives or any employee of the Bucs would ask that question live on radio of which they are producing, you clearly have never heard a Bucs radio broadcast.

I believe it was Schiano who dumped Blount to Pats for nothing. He had a monster of a game today rushing for 189, 2 TD’s, and 145 return yards. What a bonehead move to release Blount. Some of that Schiano- Belicheat suck up going on.

I was being facetious Joe 😉
But clearly I’m sure you knew that, you know a little something about that.

I’m just glad this god forsaken season is over. Good riddance Shiano
Please if possible take the penn state job.

If Penn State hires this guy, they might as well change the name of the city to Slappy Valley. Pathetic.
December 29th, 2013 at 9:05 pm
Schiano was on the phone with the Glazers pleading “It’s not my fault, Please, Please, Please, Please”

I don’t care what Schiano did at halftime, nothing changed and this game like a few of our 12 losses.
December 29th, 2013 at 9:15 pm
Too busy not making halftime adjustments?

No story here. Not really worth the words.

The Saints coach didn’t do one either. None story.
They both actually answered a couple questions, it just wasn’t televised. Instead the sideline reporter told viewers their answers.
