Bowers Out; Barron Dicey
December 20th, 2013News out of One Buc Palace today all but killed Da’Quan Bowers’ shot of the double-digit-sacks season that was predicted for him this spring.
Bowers, per Bucs commander Greg Schiano, won’t play Sunday because of his troublesome knee. It’s not a problem related to Bowers’ knee issue he had in college.
Look for emerging rookie Will Gholston to grab more snaps; Bowers was getting about 10 a game when he was healthy.
Mark Barron continues to battle nagging injuries this season and Schiano said he’s questionable for Sunday after a “limited” practice in Tampa today.
Joe hopes Barron recovers for the season finale in New Orleans. Joe really wants to Barron do one of the big things he was drafted to do: lock down on elite tight ends.

Is Bower’s knee issue bad enough that he can’t play or is this just an easy way to get Gholston a full workload? Either way I’m for it!

When was Bowers ever ” in”?!

Looks like Greggy was misquoted before the season started…clearly he said Bowers would get double digit snaps…not sacks!

Next man up!!! Perhaps Gholston & Means…..would like to see what Means can do.
We will miss Barron, however….maybe Tandy can get another pick.

Yea, Tandy has done well when filling in for Dashon Goldson. Bowers isn’t even the starter so that’s just more of a loss of depth.

Time to pull the plug on ol’ ‘Quan. talk about the “B” word! really hoped he’d be the man but…yet another d-line miss by this franchise!

best quote of the season!!!
barron’s not great at covering pass catching tight ends but even john lynch took time to develop, he’s gonna be around long after schiano is gone so let him sit out and get healthy he’s the best safety we got so let shine a light on all the money we’ve wasted signing dashon goldson. the rookie drafted to replace him made san fran forget all about him and being that he played for him just last year and bucs still had no answer he’s useless or schiano was to stubborn to listen

Quan has one more year on the rook contract andi s still a year off a torn achilles. Lets see if he can finally play some inspired ball and get paid next year. Im not holding my breath.
