“His Teammates Feel The Swagger”
November 27th, 2013Panthers head coach Ron Rivera talked to the Tampa Bay pen and mic club this afternoon and was quick to offer a scouting report on Mike Glennon, and he even dropped the “F” word.
It was interesting that Rivera spoke more about the intangibles of Glennon than anything else. It’s a theme Joe has gotten from multiple NFL sources of late. (Tomorrow, Joe will deliver interesting Glennon perspective from Dave Wannstedt in an exclusive interview.)
Rivera said he sees “no panic” in Glennon and “his teammates feel the swagger” of a confident leader. And Rivera also talked about Glennon as a “franchise” quarterback.
Glennon is quickly winning over the NFL. At this rate, Joe’s hoping Glennon doesn’t hold out this offseason.

Cant hold out. Rookies have to wait 3 yrs per CBA before getting a new contract
November 27th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
I hope we knock the swagger out of Cammy boy!!!
November 27th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
Under the new labor deal, it’s not possible for Glennon to hold out.
Cmon man!!!
November 27th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
you would think joe would know that Big Sir! sheesh! also as a hand picked guy by schiano I doubt any buccaneer man would think about holding out.
November 27th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
Literally 8 months into his NFL career and it looks like Glennon gets it, you can see it when he’s in the pockets scanning the field, Freeman was 5 years into his career and he still didn’t get it…

Leadership is an intangible and is difficult to measure but all head coaches that own a Lombardi treasure a QB that has it.

@BIG SIR / @Snook / @bucsfan13:
It’s called sarcasm, guys.
November 27th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
Do you really think Joe would miss that?
Know your host.
November 27th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
Well joe thought glennon was a joke and made fun of people who saw him as a viable quarterback only 8 weeks ago so joe can be wrong or miss things!
November 27th, 2013 at 5:00 pm
i’m not ready to contemplate his potential as an elite QB by any means, but i don’t think it’s crazy to think glennon can be a bigger armed, (slightly) more mobile version of brad johnson. no ego, hard worker, knows where the opportunities are on the field, and an innate leader. if he’s just that, i’m happy to see the bucs build a strong defense and a fearsome OL around him and i can see us winning a lot of games like that. with a QB playing like Glennon has so far, the dungy-era Bucs might have won multiple championships
November 27th, 2013 at 5:13 pm
@Joe, I really appreciate what your’e doing here. This is where i go to get all my Bucs news. Your’e doing a great job. Thanx alot. As far as Glennon goes, I’m excited by what i’ve seen. He keeps proving the haters wrong. They said he could’nt scramble or step out of the pocket, Boom!! he’s doing it. They say he can’t throw the deep ball, Boom!! He’s doing it. And all with an unshakable confidence. I’m proud to have him on my team.
Go get em Glennon! GO BUCS!!!
November 27th, 2013 at 5:21 pm
Booya!
Winning with Glennon.
November 27th, 2013 at 5:34 pm

November 27th, 2013 at 5:36 pm
the kid was unflappable at NC State superstar in the making watch him all thru college this kid’s got the goods mark my words. … when we drafting him I about fell off the couch I was so happy! Go Bucs!

bY MENNON MIKE GLENNON.YOU KNOW THE DEODERANT COMMERCIAL.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:11 pm
Joe, I read you all every day but this “Read More” is annoying. If it keeps up i may well read more of something else…
November 27th, 2013 at 6:16 pm
Glennon has me excited watching him play. This guy makes waiting for the next game fun. His lean appearance is deceiving, he is stronger than he looks. Schiano wants him to put on 20 pounds of muscle. It’s comforting to watch him lead the team, and also his future potential.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:42 pm
620 Big Darrell is finna eat a hot steamy pile of CROW.
Glennon just needs to keep being himself: steady, chillaxed, cerebral and decisive.
Awesome to see that the young buck is reading the defense, and working his ass off. I am definitely pulling for him all the way.
We can trade back, if Mathews or Clowney aren’t there, and use a 4th round pick to take our “Kirk Cousins”.
Let’s win our 4th straight and break up the Carolina Kitties.
Go Bucs!

Joe was making a joke about the “hold out” thing. You better believe that Shiano doesn’t want anyone to use the F word. He wants this kid to poor his heart and mind into this job for a long time to develop his craft.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:46 pm
pour poor…sorry.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:56 pm
Duemig is eating a huge helping of crow pie because he was all on the side of freeman and how innocent he was and it was big bad schiano’s fault! WRONG! Why he still has a job amazes me. Guy is more wrong than the weather man!
November 27th, 2013 at 10:20 pm
It seems that the Tampa Media is the only media who kkeeps finding reasons to knock him.
November 28th, 2013 at 7:42 am
Funny how we heard how hard this offense is to learn. They said it takes a few years for the qb to thrive.
November 28th, 2013 at 9:58 am
This young quarterback has won three games, just show how desperate buc’s fan have become. The buc’s have played 11 games and won three, what if this was your company, would you celebrate.
November 28th, 2013 at 10:54 am
The most recent three, Doc. After the 8 losses to start the season? You bet your azz we are happy! Now, I think a lot of people are going to the extreme just as they were when we were losing. But It is great to see some payoff for the hard work our players have put in. Our team has been close to beating good teams but come up just a little short at the end. All in all it’s a good and exciting time to follow the Bucs because they show promise and if you can’t see that then that is your problem not our teams.

I agree with roscoe.
