Down On Glennon
November 1st, 2013Will Brinson, Pete Prisco, and former Bucs scout and Jets assistant coach Pat Kirwan go deep breaking down the Bucs-Seahawks game in this CBSSports.com video. There’s a lot of Mike Glennon bashing here and little hope for the Bucs in Seatttle.
“I don’t know if I would have hitched my wagon to Glennon,” Kirwan said, a very different take than Ron Jaworski this morning.

Im all over DISAGREEING with this “Down on Glennon” commotion! WTH JOES!?!?!? He’s a rookie! Come on Man!
Lol, but it is what it is…..its all good…..seahawks are going down anyway….

When it comes to QB analysis I’ll take Jaws’ opinion over Kirwan’s all day every day. I’m not a huge Glennon fan but the guy has shown potential and has only started a few games. We haven’t even begun to see what he’s fully capable of. He needs to be given a full and complete opportunity to show how far he can develop.

Schiano didn’t “hitch his wagon” to Glennon.
Dominick “hitched his wagon” to Freewee.
This is a lost year because of our GMs inablity to move on from Freeman during the offseason.
Why did Dominick “hitch his wagon” to Freeman.
The fail of “It’s all about 5” is still being felt.
The posturing for Glennon to be tied to Schiano for success in the “now” is ludicrous.
Come on Joe! You know for darn sure that Dominick “hitched his wagon” to Freeman.
Wake up and smell the awful. 🙂
November 1st, 2013 at 3:46 pm
I heard that this offseason Dominik hitched his wagon to Revis. Revis looks better every week…figure out what means about Dominik.

Glennon is having a much better rookie season than Freeman did!
November 1st, 2013 at 4:13 pm
Another show where all they do is act like we are joke. This is how far we have fallen, down to a joke of the league. Clean house at the end of the year and that includes the common denominator for the last 5 years Dominic!!!!!!

Glennon has already proven he can be a very good backup….Freeman has proven he doesn’t want to be a backup and can’t start either…..

Until he wins, he’s not.

Lol right because the whole 3 wins Free had his rookie season was so much more impressive.
November 1st, 2013 at 5:42 pm
@Couch, ha! I don’t care for Freeman but yeah his 3 wins were much more impressive because he only started half the season with crappy receivers and Derrick Ward and a busted up Cadillac as his RB’s. Besides, 2 of those wins were against the Packers and the Super Bowl Champion Saints (who DID play their starters in that game).
November 1st, 2013 at 5:56 pm
Lol well you are entitled to your opinion. But I was not impressed with anything Freeman did. It’s like a fresh of breath air to have a QB who actually shows up from the beginning of the game. That impresses me more than anything else Freeman has ever done.
But again it’s only been 4 games. And people want to judge the guy already. I hope the wins come soon so people can put that excuse to bed.
November 1st, 2013 at 6:01 pm
I don’t really know why anyone would want to listen to someone that does not even watch Bucs games. Pat Kirwin did not seem to know Mike Williams is on IR. The hamstring has been an issue in every start that Glennon has made. So has Pat Kirwin watched a single start Glennon has made? I waste my time watching videos like that.
Glennon seems just as mobile as Freeman was the last year or two.
With all that said, yeah we are a mess….
November 1st, 2013 at 6:31 pm
Prisco was all about josh freeman and is a moron. I’m sticking with jaws here. It’s funny. Everyone in training camp, joe included, was laughing at the thought of freeman getting benched for glennon. Turns out a rookie mike glennon is light years ahead of josh freeman and glennon looks like a serviceable starter/legit back up.
November 1st, 2013 at 7:34 pm
I like Mike Glennon, don’t know if he will develop into a really good QB. I notice he gets winded and can see him sucking air hard. Give him protection and he will improve.
November 1st, 2013 at 7:35 pm
I listen to Kirwin all the time and everytime he starts talking bucs he sounds like a guy who has only watched highlight reels on NFL.com but never actually watched a game. Prisco and this other douche. “Statuesque in the pocket, locking onto receivers, making some bad throws.” All these dudes prove they have not watched the last couple of games.
As far as Kirwan goes, didn’t he used to work for the bucs. Was he fired and still holding a grudge. His analysis does not seem objective, it sounds like he got a little sour grapes up his butt.
November 1st, 2013 at 9:03 pm
Why so much about free vs Glennon?? Coaching and Dom are the problem not QB…
November 1st, 2013 at 11:59 pm
Schiano did hitch his wagon to Glennon and scapegoated Freeman for the team’s problems. Schiano made the statement “Mike Glennon gives us the best chance to win.” So far the Bucs are 0 for 4 chances with Glennon under center. He is not a franchise QB; the new coach will have to draft a QB in the 2014 draft. The coach will have to be a proven NFL coach, not a my way or the highway coach who has managed to do less with the level of talent that his predecessor was never given. Schi is in over his head just like Rah was

“Couch Fan Says:

3 is better than 0.
At this point comparisons to Freeman are useless. What matters is can the Bucs win with Glennon as QB? All that matters is his record. In todays NFL a QB has more effect on the outcome of games than in the past. It doesn’t matter how he plays, simply does he win. So far, he has shown he can.
November 2nd, 2013 at 1:02 am
If only Glennon had more protection…..
November 2nd, 2013 at 6:09 am
Man, people here can’t stop talking about Freeman. It’s rediculous!
Especially if comparing To the inadequate Glennon.
With a much worse team, and far worse protection- Freeman took over a team that was 32 in offense, and on a 15(?) game losing streak.
He won 3 of 9. Then 10 of 16 the next year.
Glennon made the 31st defense look like the Steel curtain!!
It’s one thing to support Glennon. It’s another to hate Freeman.
But to try a revise history, to make a career backup. That just makes you look as clueless as this teams Management and coaches!
Please don’t add to the stupidity surrounding this team. They are stupid enough without our help. If in doubt, read Schianos and Sheridan’s quotes in the press
November 2nd, 2013 at 6:13 am
“But to try and revise History, to make a career backup like like a legitimate QB”
By the way. Jaws loves every QB.
Kiwan was in charge of Scouting.
Quit fooling yourselves.

I think Stevek nailed it below. Want to bet this is what the glazers and schaino talked about at their off site lunch. Schanio stays, dom goes.

How come most of you say Glennon looks like a franchise QB or played well yet decide to compare him to Freeman a QB that was not? Sound like the Glennon mob to me.
Glennon has played good enough for what he is going to be in the NFL, a backup QB. Two names come to mind when I see Glennon play, Gradkowski and Simms.
We need to stop trying to find diamonds in the rough and draft real franchise QB talent.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:12 am
I love how everyone wanted to talk about Freeman until he stunk it up in MInnesota, now all the Freemanites want to move on because they were wrong about him! LMAO
Lil Timmy you especially were all over Free’s jock, his #1 Supporter, you talked about him every chance you got and now you dont because you were proven wrong… LMAO…. Thats right keep back tracking.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:15 am
I also notice Joe has barely wrote anything on Freeman since his Viking crap Job. But if he would of looked good… all of you would of threw it in our face. But you can’t do that now so you want to move on and not talk about him? LMAO. That’s cowardly.
Get real, Couch Fan. Joe wrote about Freeman a couple of times after his bad game. Freeman hasn’t played since or spoken publicly. This is an unwarranted attack on Joe and will not be tolerated in the future, especially considering this is completely irrelevant to the post here.–Joe
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:21 am
I said barely. What part of that is untrue Joe?
Joe was clear in his initial response and there’s nothing more to say. Insulting Joe is not tolerated and neither baseless attempts to discredit Joe. –Joe
November 2nd, 2013 at 1:35 pm
Hey Joe!
Do you think Freeman starts again this year?
Dominicked strapped his wagon to Freeman, and it is still costing us.
6th year of the rebuild.
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:12 pm
Frazier just came out and said Ponder gives the Vikes the best chance to win SteveK to answer your Q lol.
Sure sounds familiar doesn’t it?
Yup that Freeman is a world beater I tell ya… 😉
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:23 pm
Schiano is not doing a good job, and is not as sociable as the media would like, but IMO he catches more flack than he really should.
Dominick has been our GM for 6 years, winning 24 games and losing 47 in that time.
Schiano is only responsible for 7-16, not the 17-31 Dominick gave us prior.
Dom traded up to draft Freeman.
Freeman got 61 starts, only to never materialize.
Glennon gets 5, and everyone is ready to turn the page.
Schiano may be fired, and it would be a darn shame to see Dominick get to “rock out” with another HC and QB swing and miss.
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:29 pm
If the Bucs lost the next 4 games, then Miguel Cabrera’s lifetime batting average will be better than Dominick’s winning percentage.
What is more impressive, the way we lose or the way Cabrera can mash a basebal?
November 2nd, 2013 at 2:29 pm
If the Bucs lose***
November 2nd, 2013 at 6:17 pm
@SteveK
And who in hell foun and hired the clown HC? Is Dominic goes every garbage he brought to the team must go with him. I don’t care if goes or not. I like some of the moves he made, if I was the one in charge I keep him one more year but I would take away the power to hire a HC and to draft or sign QB and DL the Bucs need better talent evaluators for those positions.
November 4th, 2013 at 7:38 am
These morons should eat sh*t. Glennon looked good against “the legion of boom” in their environment. Kirwan proves why he isn’t in the NFL. Fool.
