Sit Doug Martin On Thursday
October 20th, 2013The Bucs are out of the playoff chase. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably agrees Joe has a shot to run away to Vegas with Rachel Watson for a week of twosomes, threesomes and massage.
So given the state of the Bucs, Joe sincerely hopes Doug Martin and his injured shoulder, the one that knocked him out of today’s Falcons-Bucs game, are in street clothes on Thursday night against Carolina. Joe doesn’t need to see a doctor’s report. There is absolutely no reason to play Martin in four days.
Let the man heal. It’s the smart move for the franchise, and Joe sincerely hopes Greg Schiano isn’t the kind of guy to play Martin on a very short week when he’s seriously banged up.
As Raheem Morris used to say, “Next man up.” The Bucs have Brian Leonard and rookie Mike James, who’s got some spark to him. Use those guys and don’t risk the franchise back.

Agreed

This would assume that Schiano will make a logical decision. The same guy who kicks a FG down 14 with 5 minutes left, then proceeds to kick the ball through the end zone.

Say what you want it was going to come down to an on sides kick anyways.
they lost by 8.
he can fix stupid and we have a lot of stupid players making penalties.

Well said Joe. I would add Revis’ name to this sentiment too. Well, I wish hope they would sit both of them, I know they can’t sit Revis for $1mill a game but I am sure you get the point. The Bucs need to target Jameis Winston in the draft in 2015. Do anything to get that kid OBP.

Hell Joe, you know he will! I’m surprised Martin has lasted this long to tell you the truth. Schiano would play his dying grandmother if that gave him a chance to win to try and save his job!

Totally agree. Sit the Muscle Hamster.

Joe,
Get a clue! Stop robbing Rachel of her reputation. She is not a public figure. Keep to football.

Doug has taken too much of a beating for little results. I’m okay with him resting another week because that throw and attempted catch was too much of a risk. Let the other bucs play. No point having DM turn out like Caddillac.

Wow.
@couch and @ Hawaiian – you guys are truly gutless wunders!?
You two said that you felt the only problem this team had was Freeman – that Glennon was great and yup EXPECTED him to lead this team to 12 straight victories.
Now you’re agreeing with those of us who said it was NOT Freeman, it was a miserable coach aaannnddd suddenly after 3 more losses you no longer believe your team can make the playoffs?!
C’mon guys – why aren’t you cheering this stuff on? You begged for it, you demanded it…you need to start showing your support, darn it! This is our team and a real fan would expect his team to win every game from here on out!
At least that’s the crap you were trying to peddle to me a just 3 short weeks ago….
Wassamatta – one of those Freemanite CATS got your tongue?
There a whole truckload of this coming – especially after Tomorrow nights game…
