Sapp: “Schiano, Tell’em It’s For Your Job. That Might Help.”
October 24th, 2013Pressed to come up with a motivational speech for the Bucs tonight, Bucs icon Warren Sapp was at a loss for words during an interview on NFL Network in advance of tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Bucs and Panthers.
Sapp, after saying, “I don’t really think the Bucs believe in what they’re doing,” couldn’t think of what words might inspire the Buccaneers. Then he offered a suggestion.
“Schiano, tell’em it’s for your job. That might help,” Schiano said.
Joe wonders whether that would, in fact, help. Bucs players seem to be playing hard for 60 minutes, not smart, but hard.
Maybe they don’t realize their head coach is on the hottest of NFL hot seats? That can’t be possible.
Joe suspects the Bucs will turn in another strong effort tonight, minus the results. They’re just not good enough, and they repeatedly get outcoached.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:07 pm
That may be the plan to get Schiano bounced! Keep losing!
October 24th, 2013 at 3:14 pm
We’re not good enough to beat the Panthers? I couldn’t disagree more. But yes, we will be outcoached by them. That’s a guarantee.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:25 pm
NFL Network is RIPPING Schiano. They are really focusing on the Silver piece.
Do the Glazer watch NFL Network?
Honestly we will probably win and as sad as I am to say it, it is only going to hurt us.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:29 pm
NFL Network ALWAYS rips Schiano. Whats new?
October 24th, 2013 at 3:30 pm
Well if this season is consistent. We’ll win the last 2 games and they’ll keep Schiano, hoping that was a turnaround beginning. And we’ll pick 4th. That would be a disaster.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:31 pm
@PRBucFan,
I’m with you. I have never and will never cheer against us. I just can’t bring myself to want us to lose,no matter what. But if we are going to lose, I want us to lose in such a fashion where Schiano gets fired. At this point, that’s all I can salvage from this season is not having to watch this guy anymore. It’s sad, but true.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:36 pm
Not like today they haven’t STBU
October 24th, 2013 at 3:37 pm
I really hope we get rolled tonight and wake up tomorrow to the announcement that Wanny is taking over as interim HC.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:43 pm
It’s sad when we actually would be happy if Wanny was the coach of our team.
October 24th, 2013 at 3:47 pm
I have been a fan from the beginning and I have NEVER hoped we lost. Somehow, I just can’t concieve of that. Even in circumstances when our draft pick would be better, I rooted for us to win until the very last minutes.
Winning a NFL football game is a precious thing…and its something to aspire to.
Thats just me…you guys can hope we lose just to get rid of a hated coach….myself, I say lets kick the “stinking” Panthers and let the chips fall where they may on Schiano.

@Joe
No coverage of the billboards?
October 24th, 2013 at 4:01 pm
Maybe. It’s gameday.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:05 pm
I heard about the billboard. Where is it? I’ll be on 275 coming from Pasco down to RayJay – I’ll keep my eyes out for it.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:10 pm
Goooooooooooo Bucs! If the Bucs and Red Sox win on the same night that would be WICKED awesome. Well for me anyways.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:22 pm
I usually don’t want the Bucs to lose but this year is different.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:23 pm
@ 87
Love u man….but, can’t go for the R-sox…..this ole Yankee fan just doesn’t have that gene.
I also don’t have the genes to hope our Bucs lose….what’s up with these “fans”….how can u possibly root for our team to lose?
October 24th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
It’s really not that complicated, I want Schiano fired and I want a high draft pick. If we start winning meaningless games and miss out on both those things it could set us back even more.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
@kh
For me, there is no such thing as a “meaningless” game….like I said…that’s just the way I’m made….
October 24th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
When you’re 0-6 and going nowhere fast, rest assured a win is meaningless. All a win does at this point is hurt us next year.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
31-13 panthers
October 24th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
The point is moot anyways, the Bucs will get rolled tonight regardless of your support.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:50 pm
kh,
No matter what, you play to win the game.
Sit your starters that are not back from injury, sure, but the 11 men in the game are asked to play their asses off.
Loafing was a Raheem era problem, also “youngry”…
Perhaps Schiano has loosened up? Who knows? What I can tell you is that Mark D. and Josh Freeman SUCK(ED) FOR THE BUCS.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
I never root for us to lose.
But it’s either playoffs or best possible draft pick in my opinion.
There’s no in between.
You know I don’t hate the coach I have stuck up for him against the best of em. But I can no longer support him purely based on our record and that stupid stupid decision to kick that field AND THAN kick it off to top it off.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
Everybody wants S fired. Maybe Glazers do too but they just don’t want to fire him and have to honor his contract and we don’t know the terms of that contract. He may need to be kept until year end. That’s really not so bad. We see nasty fan and media unbridled collective agreement and that’s not a common event.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
bucs win 2nite 23-17.
October 24th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
@ Tampabaybucfan
Im with you. Im hoping for a bucs win.
October 24th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
@kh
If it’s meaningless…then play all your backups and players should tell friends and family to bet the Panthers .
October 24th, 2013 at 5:16 pm
@PR
Higher draft picks are consolation prizes for losers. I only look forward to the pick “after” we lose….not before the games.
October 24th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
We are losers and won’t suddenly become winners with a few wins.
If we don’t make the play offs we are losers.
Like it or not the probability of getting a franchise changing player is much higher with a higher draft pick.
And we need the biggest “chance” available.
View it as you may, we need that “consolation prize”.
October 24th, 2013 at 5:41 pm
And yes I know a higher pick is no “guarantee”, but that’s why I said the probability it much higher.
Most importantly,
Schiano HAS to go, and winning will only prolong the teams deterioration which is becoming more and more apparent.
Bennett would not lie and make up that the locker room is against Schiano.
Especially when those are his friends, they could also easily come out and deny what he has said if it was untrue.
October 24th, 2013 at 5:59 pm
Losing means losing Schiano, so I want the Bucs to lose, it’s gotten to that point. He has to go.
October 24th, 2013 at 7:45 pm
Lovie Smith? Jay Gruden?
