NFL.com: Josh Freeman Signs With Minnesota
October 6th, 2013The Minnesota Vikings just secured the most motley crew of quarterbacks north of Houston this evening by signing former Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman.
Freeman joins erratic (but more clutch than Freeman) Mr. Samantha Steele and turnover machine Matt Cassell, per NFL.com.
Free-agent quarterback Josh Freeman is headed to the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year contract, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported late Sunday.
The fourth-year quarterback was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.
Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL Network’s “NFL GameDay Morning” that Freeman’s agent talked to about 10 teams, according to sources informed of the quarterback’s situation.
This just makes Joe chuckle as Joe will never forget last year, shortly after the Bucs throttled Ponder and the Vikings at the Humphrey Dome, that popular sports radio host Adam Schien declared that while Freeman may be more talented, he trusted Ponder more.
Sure enough, Ponder had two clutch games against Houston and Green Bay to close the season, vaulting the Vikings into the playoffs while Freeman has his annual December meltdown and, like most Americans, watched the playoffs in front of his TV.
Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune has confirmed the move from Freeman’s agent.
October 6th, 2013 at 11:56 pm
Kick some azz Josh!
October 6th, 2013 at 11:56 pm
I hope he packed his ritalin.
October 6th, 2013 at 11:56 pm
How is freeman not clutch?
October 6th, 2013 at 11:56 pm
Yeah, good call, Joe. I definitely remember those games last season when Freeman was calling the defensive plays and taking snaps at cornerback, causing the defense to piss away yet another lead, all because he did those things.
October 6th, 2013 at 11:58 pm
1-year deal.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:00 am
Lol Joe sounds bitter
October 7th, 2013 at 12:02 am
Best wishes – glad this nightmare is finally over! Goodbye and Godspeed.
Yungry no more!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:02 am
Freeman 1
Coach nut case o
We gave away a guy who threw for 4000+ yards and 27 tds last year. Franchise leader in TD passes.
In favor of Mike Glennon!
And folks think this is a good idea.
Good luck Josh you are in a far far better place than you have ever been before.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:03 am
Lol Joe your a hater and your sound like a bitter ex wife that can’t let go. Tampa is a laughing stock for sure and it’ll be worse if he proves the haters wrong and has a good season because even worth him in the bench people can’t see how weak and simple the playbook is…once again it’s about to be proven Tampa know sh!t about what a franchise qb looks like unless we’re looking at some other teams qb
October 7th, 2013 at 12:03 am
This was not the best move for Freeman, theses are the defenses he now has to face; GB twice, Chi, Dallas, SEA, BAL, Det and Cinci?
Please pick a win out of those 8 games?
October 7th, 2013 at 12:04 am
You forgot his under 50% completion percentage, Eric.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:07 am
“Tampa is a laughing stock for sure”
Spoken like a true fan…
October 7th, 2013 at 12:09 am
Good luck Freeman.
Welcome to actual coaches and a team that WANTS to win.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:10 am
Was he not supposed to be signed or something???
Does the signing validate how great he is? Lol
It does not erase a single thing he did here,
Let’s remember tons of players get signed, not all of them excel.
Hopefully the Freemanites can follow him to the Vikings, or they can stay here and act as if they actually support this team as they relish in our Bucs misery.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:14 am
I’ve realized though, there will always be those “players fans” that stick around till their player gets treated in a way they dislike.
Than they become little bitches and just whine and whine and whine until the first opportunity they have to try and get back at “their team” lol. Laughable.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:15 am
@jerry,
54% completion percentage last year. 58% for his career.
And folks seriously think Mike Glennon is better. unbelievable.
This will become one of the top boneheaded moves in Bucs history. Right up with drafting Bo Jackson, not signing Doug, etc.
O-16 here we come.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:17 am
He should flourish now that he no longer has to worry about this control freak of a coach breathing down his neck and his cronies video taping the sidelines for players chewing gum!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:19 am
Hey Eric Glennon completed 55.8% of his passes in his first start EVER.
Freeman completed 48.4, 40.9%, 46.3% in his three games….
So I would think before I comment if I was you…
October 7th, 2013 at 12:20 am
I don’t know about actual coaches, but they def are moving in the right direction. Good Luck Free Ill be rooting for you as long as you’re not playing the Bucs
October 7th, 2013 at 12:20 am
We’ve got bigger fish to fry next Sunday. We need to win a football game here sooner or later. I wish Freeman well but he plays for another team now. The Eagles are coming to town off of a big win over the Giants and will not be an easy win. Damn Freeman, this is a win now team. Where are the wins?
October 7th, 2013 at 12:22 am
I will resume support when they jettison this clown coach! He is single handedly destroying a roster that had the potential to be respectable!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:22 am
Joe is seeking validation. Long time readers remember Joe declaring Freeman a “wasted Pick” the day he was drafted.
Sorry Joe. We love you, but no vedication. Josh leaves with every worthwhile passing record in team history.
Getting cut by the lil emperor says more about him, than Josh. Good coaches may sit a young QB a few games, if he’s struggling.
The Pasta Nazi made no attempt to work with Josh.
Because he knows Josh isn’t the problem. If he sat Josh- even the dumbest fan would see that It’s the scheme- not the Kid!!
Thanks for sending us back into 3 years of rebuilding!!!
Good luck Josh!! Congrats on Escaping the Stalag.
Josh will be Starting in 4 weeks.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:24 am
“Hopefully the Freemanites can follow him to the Vikings”
Yes right right PRBucFan….that’s something I would very much like to see.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:24 am
All he has to do is make teams respect the pass enough to not load the box and his work is done. He doesn’t have to carry the team in Minnesota, AP will take care of that. Unfortunately for the Viks, they’ve got a clone of the Bucs 2012 secondary.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:26 am
“I will resume support when they jettison this clown coach!”
DCBUCSFAN …it doesn’t work like that.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:26 am
Eric, my friend.
We have been watching this team too long, to have to put up with this Stupidity. I believe a REAL coach would have taken this team to the Playoffs.
It makes me miss Gruden!! Never thought it would come to that!!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:28 am
Why not? I want to feel ownership is committed to winning! Holding on to this fool shows me otherwise!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:29 am
I miss Ray Perkins and Sam Wyche. (sarcasm)
October 7th, 2013 at 12:29 am
And zero playoff appearances. At least Chris Simms started a playoff game.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:30 am
I suppose when you average four yards a completion it gets the ole completion percentage higher.
Glennon vs freeman.
Every GM in this league, aside from ours, would take Freeman.
Every coach in this league, except ours, would take Freeman.
Not even close.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:30 am
DCBUCSFAN…maybe find another team then. You can’t just turn support on and off like a faucet. Well maybe YOU can. Which is the typical Bucs fan anyways…weak.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:31 am
@ Joe,
Those putrid teams weren’t Josh’s fault!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:34 am
Yah Joe don’t cha know. Nothing is Freeman’s fault.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:35 am
I had enough of his deer in the headlights look, and staring down every receiver and then 5 yard throws into the dirt.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:35 am
I miss Richard Williamson.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:36 am
He will be fine in Minnesota as long he not asked to take a team photo, or be a leader. Just wate win they get to hear this burn out give a press statement after a loss. They to will swear he’s on drugs. Even if he is high all he’s got to say is ADHD. Rendering all arguments against him void, and he lives to play another day. It’s called the FREEMAN EFFECT. It works great for days when you don’t want to work, late or just don’t show up at all.
Try it some time. People will feel sorry for you and make up excuses for you. It’s awsome!!!!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:36 am
Our GM also has no playoff appearances and a horrific winning percentage.
Somehow that makes him a rock star, but Freeman a bum. He is also guy who drafted the “bum”. The choker. The guy who can’t make the playoff.
But, of course, it wasn’t a mistake to draft him, oh no.
The reality is no QB can take a rah/schiano coached, dominik asembled team to the playoffs. Neither will Glennon or the guy we get after that.
Not happening ever.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:37 am
OK ‘Moron Joe’ (no really Eye-RAH! I mean that in the most condescending way possible) – We’ll see how it plays out – you take this miserable coach and the below average QB and I’ll take Freeman and the Motley Crue you say he has – and lets see which team has more wins at the end of the season?!
Put your attitude where you live.
Now I know why we have fans like TBBF, Couch, PRB, and B1987 – it’s because they’ve grown up on our tripe.
There will be more than just handing off to ALL DAY – there will be a dual threat for the first time in a L-O-N-G time.
…and about the “clutch” thing…tell me again how many come from behind 4th quarter wins Samantha has again? If you can’t – it proves you’re the Moron Joe I’ve loving dubbed you – because I can tell you EXACTLY how many Freeman has – and how many he had as a Rookie.
…by the way – how many NFL wins/losses does MG8/Schiano have again?
You definitely know how to stir the pot – or is that what’s in your pipe?
I can never keep that straight with you…
October 7th, 2013 at 12:38 am
Bucs87 – I’m just an unhappy customer! Have you ever spent your money on something that should be returned?
October 7th, 2013 at 12:38 am
I miss Hugh Culverhouse.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:39 am
Bucs1987-‘
Since when do you” know how it works”?
Weren’t you one of the two clueless Glennon lovers- predicting Glennon would lead us to the playoffs??
October 7th, 2013 at 12:40 am
Well, I wanted to see Peterson and Josh play together…just wanted it here. Oh well. I hope they give him “plenty of time” to learn the playbook.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:40 am
You fans have not suffered long enough. Suffer some more.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:43 am
DCBUCSFAN …I shelled out $1,300 for these season tickets. I’ve dealt with this before and I’ll keep dealing with it. Futility makes winning sweeter. The wins will come…someday and it will be sweeter.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:43 am
Joe- so that’s on Josh, not rookie coaches Raheem and Schiano??
Riiiiight!!
Peyton Manning couldn’t win with last years defense, or The Rutgers offense.
Josh proved he could be a winner. If you can win ten games with Raheem’s team, you can damn sure win with a real coach.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:44 am
Lol, Buc1987…yep, this is what its like….
October 7th, 2013 at 12:47 am
Lol so chris simms LED the bucs to the playoffs?
October 7th, 2013 at 12:48 am
Alright, the Steelers play in Pittsburgh….enough with the screen name hijacking
Its Buc1987, not Bucs1987
Its Tampabaybucfan, not TampabaybucTfan
And of course now Im using this screen name because someone else is trying to pretend to be me by using “MadMax”
Oh well, copying is the greatest form of flattery….
October 7th, 2013 at 12:48 am
Talked to a dude at the Arizona game last week while in the concession line. He saw my Lynch jersey on and said to me. Hey Lynch would not be able to play in today’s NFL. I said yah I hear ya, that’s what has me not wanting to re-up my tickets for next year. He said “really I just re-upped mine last week”. That is a true Bucs fan. In the middle of an 0-3 start and he re-ups his season tickets. It’s fans like this guy, that make me want to re-up mine for next year as well. Regardless of who the coach is.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:48 am
Hey Ms Cleo the train has left the station.
Go follow your boi Free Free, after all you are no Buc fan.
And only a complete tool would try and compare a rookie with 1 game under his belt to Free Free will 50+ starts under his belt lol.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:49 am
Bucs1987 – so did I, but the difference is I travel from DC to Tampa and right now I’m pretty pissed the Bucs gave up on the season 3 weeks in because Glennon is not the answer!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:51 am
I’m not saying it’s easy being a Bucs fan either, because it’s not. It is what it is. I’ll wait. If I have to wait some more, I will.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:53 am
“you take this miserable coach and the below average QB and Iāll take Freeman and the Motley Crue you say he has ā and lets see which team has more wins at the end of the season?!”
Further proof that you are not a Buccaneer Fan.
Lol, Free’s ball boi is getting pissed Joe.. Ohhhhhh noooooo!!!!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:53 am
Ok, my bad, Bucs1987 isnt an imposter…sorry Bro, I never noticed the “s” in your name….thought it was Buc1987.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:55 am
DCBUCSFAN…well neither was Freeman unfortunately. That’s why I wished they would have went after someone else to back Freeman up in the offseason instead of a rookie. Still I have not seen enough of Glennon to make any real determination yet. I know the offensive scheme does suck. That’s why I’m hopeful they will make some adjustments to it. If they don’t make the adjustments, then it truly is going to be a loooong season. No matter who the QB is.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:55 am
Hey 1987, we have a hell of a D. Very much worth watching and re-upping for š
October 7th, 2013 at 12:57 am
LOL Max…yeah I dropped that s in there by accident.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:58 am
Oh, ok. With all the name stealers, its hard to know now. idiots need to get a friggin life!
October 7th, 2013 at 12:58 am
“Hey 1987, we have a hell of a D. Very much worth watching and re-upping for”
Oh yes and it’s going to get better. If they don’t just give up and throw in the towel themselves.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:59 am
MadMax it’s the infamous “i’m too big of a puss” to keep the same screen name tool lol.
He’s running out of steam, so now he’s resorting to that ahahaha.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:00 am
“Lol, Freeās ball boi is getting pissed Joe.. Ohhhhhh noooooo!!!!”
LOL or his dealer…
October 7th, 2013 at 1:00 am
Adjustments, Adjustments, Adjustments…you kidding me! (in my Jim Mora voice)
October 7th, 2013 at 1:01 am
DCBUCSFAN…ha ha yeah well they do need to re-work the scheme. Everyone can see that by now.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:03 am
Whats uP DC? Is this the same DC that was wearing that black #20 jersey at the draft?
October 7th, 2013 at 1:04 am
Yep PR, crazy kid doing some crazy BS…..who is it? Raph?
October 7th, 2013 at 1:08 am
Nah Mad
October 7th, 2013 at 1:09 am
One good thing about the bye week is I’ve actually had decent sleep during it. Got tired of tossing and turning every Sunday night, and Monday night, well throw in Tuesday as well.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:11 am
Saturday nights suck too for sleep, the day before the game.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:14 am
Oh ok….but still welcome aboard. Theres a guy using the same name on bucsnation….cool dude too.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:16 am
Haha, 1987, man you have Pewter running through your veins buddy, lol.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:16 am
Look I’m taking all these losses in. It sucks..bad. It’s so depressing walking out of ray jay. I don’t get mad though. I get depressed. I’m gobbling up the losses like candy bars. It’s soaking in. When the Bucs get a win. I will be the most vocal person in the stadium. I really do think they are going to fix the offense…this season. I could be wrong, all signs point that I probably am wrong. If they do however. The wins will come. I still have faith.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:17 am
Well it wouldn’t surprise me if he, I thought about that but the puss i’m referring is the one that’s gone by Tru eBuc, To nyTwoCents, DonM akeveli, Eli jah, Sonny ASAP, and most recently Hector vas.
The spacebar is to bypass that stinking filter lol.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:17 am
Oh yah I got to go bed now. See ya’s around sometime this week.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:18 am
LOL Joe even has the name’s filtered out?
October 7th, 2013 at 1:19 am
I have faith in Glennon. I like what Im seeing in him. Granted he’s going to make rook mistakes, but thats a given. The guy is smart as hell and will surprise many!
October 7th, 2013 at 1:20 am
Alright 1987, get some sleep my man.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:21 am
Lol, wow PR, I didnt know it was getting that bad…..smdh
October 7th, 2013 at 1:22 am
Lol in past posts they were, I couldn’t get my posts in till I put the space in a couple days ago.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:27 am
So many childish fans on here. Can’t even be man enough to wish the guy well. After coach lunatic made his past years a living hell. This site has gotten really negative…like its taken the mentality of the HC.
For you positive fans, man enough to wish a guy well, Im tellin you, bcs nation. Its like going from 1st grade to college.
Oh, and Not clutch? He was the definition of clutch when he was allowed to just play…. Then in comes the lunatic….. He tells him to slim up. Stay in the pocket. Take 47 drug tests! wtf!!
Leslie Frasier is exactly what Freeman needs. He’s the anti-schiano. Peace JBF.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:35 am
This has turned in joeshianofan. Jersey folks stick together. All Free needed was a coach who would support him, and he will definitely get that with Dungy Clone Leslie Frasier.
Good Luck Free. I’ll watch you this weekend. Since I refuse to watch another Bucs game until Coach Lunatic the Pasta Nazi is gone.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:37 am
After reading some of these comments, now I get where the term “player hater” comes from.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:38 am
Hey hector, most of us are over it already, and some have wished him well….me personally/ I dont give a FK! Glad hes gone!
Oh, you’re right, he WAS clutch in the last minutes of some of those games…..because he usually SUCKED the other 58 minutes! Had he not sucked, he wouldnt have needed to be clutch!!!
October 7th, 2013 at 1:53 am
Josh has never played good for all four quarters. My guess he never will. Just think how happy they are in Minnisota right now. They have no idea what kind of frustration they are in store for.
October 7th, 2013 at 1:57 am
Oh that’s right, I forget, you guys are experts on “suck”.
To quote me and not take the bet, while recognizing the very real possibility that the defense could throw in the towel — tells us all that you know we;re right. you just don’t like the taste of crow…or is that suck?
October 7th, 2013 at 1:58 am
I’ll follow Free out of town, if you follow Schiano out of the league.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:06 am
Well good for josh and the Vikings.. He is someone else’s problem now.
As for the bucs well I think we should all support our team and help them get through what is definitely a touch period. I am sure the wins will come soon and I am hoping schiano learns from his mistakes.. That’s all I ask.
As for glennon I like what I saw from him. He is a smart kid and I’m sure he will do well for us lets just give the kid a chance and support him through this.
This is probably mostly likely not going to go down too well with some fans but I think we should all try and support OUR TEAM through this. Look for the positives everyone and let’s get through this season. If we need to make changes at the end of the year then so be it. Let’s go Bucs..
October 7th, 2013 at 2:07 am
We’re buccaneers we don’t eat crows. We eat seagulls. We also eat Falcons and Eagles.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:07 am
Tough*
October 7th, 2013 at 2:09 am
Oh I have my knocks on Schiano too….and also Dom! Mainly Dom for allowing all of this sht to occur under his nose….he shouldve known better! But he’s a fat cat riding high and couldnt care less. But thats ok. Glazers care š
October 7th, 2013 at 2:10 am
Finally we can turn the page on that draft bust known as Freeman. Dom deserves criticism for that horrible pick and draft. Hopefully he got this QB right. Winnin with Glennon!! GO BUCS!!
October 7th, 2013 at 2:11 am
Unlike you Ms Cleo and your little Free Free,
I don’t care who our coach ends up being ;), I’m going to trust whatever direction the Bucs organization goes regarding the coach.
Schiano, no Schiano, makes no difference to me lol.
If he does get the boot and does tank, you won’t see me being a little bitch about it. Unlike some folk, still whining about poor little Free Free.
Nice try though.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:14 am
Why the hate on Chris Simms? The guy had a good season in 2005 and was much better than Griese.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:15 am
HAHAHAHA!!! @PR and @Couch, yuP!
October 7th, 2013 at 2:17 am
I truely hope Glennon is the answer at QB so we can go after a 3rd option….and my radar is set on Watkins!
October 7th, 2013 at 2:19 am
We’d be better off with Joe Maddon. Let him roll right in after the Rays go on holiday. Even if he knows nothing about football, he’d get more from his players than Der Fuhrer. As I recall, Nazi’s weren’t allowed to smile either.
Been a fan since the beginning, for the first time I’m not watching them play again until the Fuhrer and his Reich go down the toilet.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:24 am
Good. You should also stay away from fan sites also. Just sayin…
October 7th, 2013 at 2:25 am
It’s all good. We got rid of ogletree who was sh..y at best. Crabtree should be in there. Page is playing better then expected. Demps who is lighting in a Bottle. Not to forget all of our other usual suspects. We just need the deep ball to join the party and we will have a W at the end of the day.
October 7th, 2013 at 2:28 am
If Glennon comes along like I think he will….as much as I love Clowney (Im a Gamecock) but we need to go for Watkins/Matthews/or Lewan Taylor. And if Dom still says he doesnt draft O line? Well then, even more reason to can him too.
But Watkins can be “that guy”. Fk a 3rd option, he can be our 1st and 2nd also š (Not knocking on my boys VJax and MWill)
October 7th, 2013 at 2:30 am
Apparently the Vikings are close to acquiring Matt Schaub and Cam Newton so they can have the mediocre QB market on lockdown
October 7th, 2013 at 2:37 am
What if Eli was cut? Would you still want to draft? Or pick him up. What if Rex was let go would you want him for a coach?
October 7th, 2013 at 2:43 am
Eli? Hmmmmm, thats a good one to think about, but it probably wont happen.
Rex? Hmmmmm, if Schiano doesnt work as HC, and you’re talking about Rex maybe being our HC? Fk yea, Im on board!
Make Schiano DC, Rex as HC….um hell yea, all the way around!
October 7th, 2013 at 2:48 am
We have the pieces in place….just need the play calling to work better! (and stop ruining Doug when its obvious he’s getting ganged up on).
October 7th, 2013 at 2:50 am
I feel so sorry for my man Doug…dude is getting overworked….enough already Schiano. You have Glennon now who can make the short passes!!!!!!
October 7th, 2013 at 3:11 am
Joe-
Josh has the same amount of playoff wins as Steve Young had here.
Same number as Dom. Same number as Raheem( as head coach), same number as Dom.
No Qb could overcome Those Two rookie coaches, and their rookie Offensive co- ordinators.
October 7th, 2013 at 3:16 am
The last great team in my opinion was the 2007 team. We still had that great defense and great mistake free QB play from Jeff Garcia.
I miss that kind of football. You know……when we were at least somewhat respectable.
October 7th, 2013 at 3:36 am
No sh!t @Capt. Tim and @Patrick….I was a HUGE fan of Garcia….guy had a lot of fight in him and was tough as nails.
Heres a QB coming out in the draft to keep your eyes on, also tough as nails…Connor Shaw. That kid can play! Dont get me wrong, I may be biased because Im a Gamecock, but what I see in him can rally the troops. Probably a 3rd rounder since he’s so under the radar.
October 7th, 2013 at 3:36 am
Viking fans get your Super Bowl tickets. Lol
October 7th, 2013 at 3:39 am
Steve Young got run out early he wasn’t here for 5 years, nice try bud.
Josh freeman and Steve Young in the same sentence…
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
October 7th, 2013 at 3:39 am
Heard it here first…Connor Shaw for our backup QB (he just may start one day š )…..and Sammy Watkins for our WR in the next draft!
October 7th, 2013 at 3:40 am
ROFL @King….hahahaha!
October 7th, 2013 at 4:02 am
ESPN reporting that Panthers have already begun a head coaching search.
October 7th, 2013 at 4:34 am
MadMax
The problem is- Schiano doesn’t like short or intermediate passes.
This is a direct quote from NFL X and so expert, Greg Bedard
āAnd, in what has been a Greg Schiano staple since his Rutgers days, the Buccaneersā scheme is outdated, unimaginative and too reliant on short plays. The short and intermediate passing game that is so crucial in todayās NFL is essentially nonexistent in Tampaās system. Itās difficult to win without it. ā
Donāt know what to add to that. This was posted here wednesday, under āRutgers offenseā.
The idiots will blame whatever QB we have playing. But itās obvious that the scheme is the Problem
Schianos scheme.
WE DO NOT RUN THE GIANTS OFFENSE!!
Let that sink in for a bit
We run the wretched Rutgers offense. The one that couldnāt win .500 against lil colleges in the North east.
Martin will get ran to Death. Schiano will blame Glennon soon. He went thru a QB a year at Rutgers. None were any good.
But that’s Schianos story. The Truth is, his offense is childlike.
Glennon won’t have the Short”hot routes” when he’s blitzed. It’s Why He said that TE and Slot receiver aren’t important in his offense. It’s because he doesn’t use them. 2 targets, and 2 targets only.
Good luck Mike!

Why are we even talking about this on JBF? Hey Joe, how about an article on what Barrett Ruud is up to these days?
That said, Josh Freeman had suitors when he was released. No one will be calling Schiano once he’s fired.

Agreed Tim, with you ALL THE WAY on that Brother!
October 7th, 2013 at 5:27 am
And Tim, that why Im calling for Dom’s head….and if need be, Schiano too!
But if we get a new GM, Im ok with the Glazers allowing him to assess Coach and predict the next move.
Bottom line is our D has about a 3 year window….!!!!…..the chess game needs to circle back to the head of the snake! And I have trust in the head of the snake…..they know š

MadMax- and I’m with you on that one!
Dom has been rebuilding this team since Gruden left. And we still seem to be cellar dwellers. How long of a rebuild is this??
And while we can disagree on Why he didn’t succeed, we can agree that we spent 4 years on a franchise QB- that accomplished nothing but wasting team!!
If you believe the coaches ruined him, or he didn’t have what it takes, either way- it took FOUR YEARS to figure it out????
Time for a house cleaning. Bringing in a rookie QB is just like starting a Rebuild anyway- might as well make it a clean sweep!!
October 7th, 2013 at 5:48 am
And the Glazers know….and dont give a damn about $$. A clean sweep will come soon if we dont get at least 1 win soon….And Im 99%ok with it (saving that last percent for me and my fandom)

Only took Michelangelo four years to paint the ceiling at the Sistine Chapel.
Rockstar can’t build even a wild card in his fifth season. And now we have to start over at the most important position on the team? Seriously?
Didn’t McKay start from scratch and go to the NFC Championship in year four?
Ugly and fixin to get uglier.

Freeman is history, gone, departed, terminated, through, finished, vanished, elsewhere, SYONARA, ADIOS, AU-REVOIR, Auf WIEDERSHEN, CHEERIO, ADJO, ANTIO, DO SVIDANIYA, HASTA LA VISTA, BYE-BYEā¦. SO LONG Of course, Schiano would say CAIO!!!

I often wonder if the same debate that we have in Tampa is occurring in Minnesota with Ponder. “He’s inconsistent, but he led the Vikes to the playoffs!”
I’ll say this about Ponder: no one can accuse him of ADHD. The guy is a certified genius. He finished college in 2 years at FSU and was an Academic All-American. Studying and learning is NOT his problem.

Out of the teams that were reported to be interested in Josh the Viking are probably the smartest choice he could have made (Bills, 49ers and Raiders already have QB’s they are currently sold on as starters). Hopefully Josh makes the most of his opportunity with Minnesota, and hopefully the Bucs can finally put the drama behind them and focus on winning football games with the players and coaches that are currently with us.

Jerry Says
“1-year deal.”
I think this is because of the money the Bucs owe him. He was willing to take less from another team because of it, and when the well runs dry he’ll want to get a new deal done.

what’s that I hear? Fans in GB, Detroit, and Chicago are celebrating loudly……
October 7th, 2013 at 8:06 am
@ Adam L
At least Ponder supporters can hang their hat on him taking the Vikings to the playoffs in his second season despite accuracy issues. Sadly Josh and the Bucs couldn’t make the same claim.
October 7th, 2013 at 8:06 am
At least we don’t have to play the Vikings in the regular season. IF the Bucs pull off a miracle and somehow make the playoffs, it would hurt pretty bad if Josh knocked us out of them.
I think he’ll prosper with the Vikings. If he does, then I hope people blame our OC because he is the one running the offense.

Fire Schiano; bring in Marty. We won’t regret it!! He can coach for a few seasons and get us on the right track!

Bonzai,,,,,,Us playoffs,,lmfao,,good one dude. Just another stand up routine by Buc management. Josh and the Viqueens are laughing all the way to the bank. Now back to your show,,, Schiano Does Tampa !
