“He Might Get Schiano Fired”
October 10th, 2013Former Jets linebackers coach and personnel man Pat Kirwan joins Will Brinson and prickly Pete Prisco to talk all things Bucs-Eagles in this CBS Sports Video. Kirwan talks about how Greg Schiano’ future rides on Mike Glennon, and about how Josh Freeman is still influencing at One Buc Palace. There are also mixed thoughts on Sunday’s game.

Freeman is history, gone, departed, terminated, through, finished, vanished, elsewhere, SYONARA, ADIOS, AU-REVOIR, Auf WIEDERSHEN, CHEERIO, ADJO, ANTIO, DO SVIDANIYA, HASTA LA VISTA, BYE-BYE…. SO LONG
Of course, Schiano would say CAIO!!!

Funny, he thought the bucs could score 20 points. i’ll believe it when i see it.

Tampabaybuctfan …and I would say good.
October 10th, 2013 at 11:53 pm
and Prisco picked the Bucs to score 27.

Better for Schiano that he hitch his wagon to a QB that has growth potential than sticking with a QB that didn’t show one iota of progress in 59 starts.

I hope they win this one.
But if they don’t, I think Schiano may get the ax next week

@ Capt. Tim
Schiano is not getting fired during the season, barring some unforeseen circumstance.
The organization foisted Freeman upon Schiano, and now the only fair thing to do is to give him at least until the end of the season to see how things work with Glennon.
Schiano changed the culture of the team and vastly improved the defense. Now that Freeman is gone, the Glazers have to give him time bring the offense up to speed with his guy.
A mid-season coach-firing would solve nothing, and would completely destabilize the franchise. The Glazers are not known for making rash, reactionary decisions, so I think prudence will prevail.

The defense is better because of acquisitions we went out and spent tons of money on pro bowl talent and drafted Banks if he could coach we would be 3-1 just saying.

@ Capt. Tim
Schiano didn’t vastly improve the defense, Mark Dominick brought in more talent. Schiano isn’t an offensive coach so why give him time if he says glennon gives them the best chance to win. Schiano is gonna get schiano fired, it’s one thing to coach players during the week but another during the game and he’s responsible for half a dozen losses with bad play calling, our wins and losses have less to do with who’s under center and more about in game decisions, in-game and halftime adjustments which he doesn’t know how to do, there’s no reason we should be reevaluating our offense on the bye week in year two of the same offense, it either works our it doesn’t like chip Kelly or Mark tresman. Jets have a new coordinator but his system is proven, this coaching staff had proved nothing, dare I say we’ve regressed, writes used for raheem and Freeman hmmm!

Illuminati …LOL some people just don’t get it. Some of these fans talk as if they own the team or something. Firing Schiano mid-season makes no sense what-so-ever. Sure some fans want that to happen, but they never state the benefit of doing it in mid-season.
October 11th, 2013 at 8:19 am
If Schiano does get fired at the end of the year. Years later he will be known as the hero that saved the franchise, They will talk how he went down, but took the Pop-star and JFro-6pak as well.
October 11th, 2013 at 8:26 am
Prisco picked us to beat the Cards before our bye, while Kirwan picked the Cards….because of Glennon & Schiano. Who was right? Until this team shows us, and doesn’t just pay lip service to how much they like and are behind Schiano, I’m not believing anything coming outta One Buc Place.
October 11th, 2013 at 8:53 am
I like Schiano but I don’t think his methods will work in the NFL. You’ll never get all of the pieces at once if you aren’t flexible in your system. If Andy Reid went to KC and tried to install his eagles scheme to the letter, then get rid of people that didn’t fit it, he wouldn’t be 5-0 now.
October 11th, 2013 at 10:20 am
You guys still think Freeman is the problem and this skinny geek looking kid will save the bucs wow what morons
October 11th, 2013 at 10:52 am
Getting rid of your talent like the buc do is the stupidest thing I’ve heard to date when you get stuck with a coach like this and a gm like this with no nfl experience and a goofy looking rookie is your answer wow getting rid of free is one thing but dan o has more experience and should of gotten the start over the skinny geek with no experience and the fans are just supposed to keep spending money and take it
October 11th, 2013 at 11:20 am
Yeah, illuminati, you are probably right.
I mean- after all,it’s not like this is a business.
Or the Glazers have invested tons of money in this team, to see it go 0-4.
I’m sure they’ve loved all the stupidity coming out of OneBuc.
It has to do their Hearts proud, seeing Schiano run off a QB- and have the entire league say it was a Mistake. A QB they have invested time and money into,
And to watch the Fans revolt against this coach, like has never happened in team history.
And despite the huge salaries they have paid Jackson, Goldson, and Revis- we are still in the NFC south, still can’t fill the stadium, ridiculed by national media, and alienated from the fan base.
Are you loopy? Have you ever been right about anything?
They fired Dungy, after a playoff game. They fired Gruden, who seemed to find his way to the playoffs every other year.
Oh, yeah. They will fire Schiano. If he doesn’t go on a winning streak, he will be their first mid-season fire. He may get away with one or two more loses- but that’s it.
Especially if Freeman wins a game in Minnesota. That would be the fastest way to drop the Guillotine!
You can keep bouncing around in happy land if you wish- but the Glazers are very intelligent Business men. If they will fire a coach who turned the franchise around, after a playoff game, they will damn sure fire a hated coach- who can’t win with a team full of Pro bowlers.
The players know that too!
And may have decided they don’t want to keep their toes on the line anymore.
Sapp thinks he’s lost the team. If that’s the case, it’s just a matter of time.
Raheem had no one capable of taking over.
The Glazers have a couple former head coaches on the staff.
Firing Schiano will be no problem at all.

Shiano’s fate lies in the hands of Beaker!!
Meep meep!
No that’s funny, and a fitting demise to the worst coach in Buc History.
If Cowher was coaching this team- we’d be in the thick of a division title run.
Can’t wait to see this team in the hands of a real NFL coach.
Once we get a QB again- of course.

Pat Kirwan can kiss me arse. Bucs did not dig them selves in a hole. Every game has been close. Bucs defense is solid. These naysayers make to much money to sound like big breying donkeys on primetime.
