Greg Schiano Addresses The Fans

October 14th, 2013

“I can imagine how frustrated [Bucs fans] are, absolutely. You know, I can guarantee you they aren’t more frustrated than I am no matter how fervent a fan they are. But that doesn’t make it ok. I mean I understand we’re disappointing a lot of people. This is a community, an area that is very passionate about their team and had high expectations, as I did. So far it hasn’t come to fruition. The only thing I can say to the fans and I know this sounds, and if they can hang in there, we’re going to be good. If they can’t, we’re still going to be good and then they’re welcome back. And I’m not being smart. I meant it.  I think our fans are great. You know when I came out to start the game, warmups, our fans were awesome. And, you know, at the end of the game I’m disappointed just like they are. So I understand anything and everything. That’s disappointment. And the fact that our fans care as much as they do. I think that’s awesome. And when we get a turn, it’s going to be really special.”Greg Schiano, Oct. 14, 2013

Joe hears the pain of the head coach. However, Schiano says no fan is more frustrated than he is, and Joe knows that’s inaccurate.

There are loads of Bucs fans who couldn’t sleep last night, riddled by pure angst and frustration. Schiano told media today that he sleeps well every night because he does the best he can every day at work.

Schiano doesn’t realize that fans aren’t paid millions a year to coach the team. There are legions of fans that have sacrificed vacations, good food on the table and more to buy season tickets. Coach, don’t say you’re more frustrated than the last of the face-painted, Bucs-tattoed fans out there. It’s just not accurate.

He’s a liar. He’s a hypocrite. He proved both during the Freeman debacle.

I can’t even stand to listen to his BS anymore.

Me and my wife. Yep that’s us.

  3. Rob Says:

Any fan who literally couldn’t sleep last night needs a new hobby.

  4. chickster Says:

wait until the nfl t ells the world that you leaked the freeman story and see ho far that gets you with the players

  5. Buc1987 Says:

The first 3 weeks of the season it was tough sleeping on Monday and even Tuesday. I’m over that crap now. I just expect to be miserable now and sleep like a baby.

  6. d-money Says:

in the immortal words of the great John Tortarella…

    SHUT YER YAP!!!

No one wants to hear this crap.

Show me one sign that this team is headed in the right direction and i might be willing to listen…Until then I don’t want to hear another word from this guy.

  7. Patrick in VA Says:

The fact that he sleeps well because he’s doing his best is why he needs to go. We’re looking at the best this guy has to offer. He’s not improving, he’s not changing his approach. He’s been weighed, measured and found wanting

  8. RCS Says:

Please tell me what was wrong with that statement. I’ve been a Bucs fan since 91 and I get in a very foul mood when they loose but I still can sleep at night. A fan is just that a fan. This man has his career and the well being of his family on the line and your telling me a fan who at the end of the day will loose nothing when he’s gone cares more?
    Simply False.

  9. chickster Says:

I just sold my season tickets to a friend of mine we tagged up so its his turn and ive been around since the beginning and I all for supporting this team but when you picked the wrong dude you just picked the wrong dude

  10. WalkdaPlank Says:

“if they can hang in there, we’re going to be good”. There are no excuses as to why we are not “good” right now. Just like with Josh Freeman, Schiano has all the tools to succeed, and isn’t getting the job done.

  11. chickster Says:

    John G never slept

  12. PRBucFan Says:

It’s his livelihood, it’s his means of supporting his family.

Of course it brings more frustration to him than us.

    Don’t be ridiculous.

  13. Bucworld Says:

Schiano trying to rock the fans to sleep again.

  14. Young buc Says:

    F$ck u schiano

  15. Couch Fan Says:

    @PR

I thought the same thing to when I read this article. This is what he does for a living and he doesn’t seem to be good at it but there is no doubt he is as frustrated as any fan. To think otherwise is silly.

  16. buc4lyfe Says:

I love the Bucs, I’ve never rooted for another team even through all the losing seasons I’m still optimistic every off-season so why am I smiling lol? People hated Freeman so much they placed all the blame on him….finally eyes wide open. Glennon had some promise but atleast Freeman could complete a pass beyond 20 yards

  17. Patrick in VA Says:

I’m not sure who he thinks he’s assuaging by coming out every week with this “believe me guys, we’re really gonna get this thing on track” bit. I don’t want empty promises. I want to hear what’s going to be different. tell me why I should hold out hope. If I wanted to follow a bad team I’d go with the skins. They’re right here in town and at least I’d have plenty of people nearby to watch the game with. don’t feed me some empty line about how you know you’re going to get it right soon. If you know that then why haven’t you gotten it right yet?

  18. BucsQcCity Says:

Ultimately we’re going to be good someday.. Strange wording for a
NFL coach in a win now environment.

Currently I’m not even sure that the Bucs could beat a Canadian Football League team..

At the start of the season I was planning to go see the 49ers/Bucs and stay in Tampa for the weekend (which would have cost me around 2k$) but now I’d settle for a refund for NFL Gamepass

  19. D-Rome Says:

There are legions of fans that have sacrificed vacations, good food on the table and more to buy season tickets.

Very true Joe. I can afford to go to games pretty much when I want but I know there are thousands of Bucs fans out there who cannot but still sacrifice things in order to support the team whether it’s going to the game, buying $100+ jerseys and other merchandise, spending money at pre/post game establishments, ect…..

0-5 and 1-10 out of the last 11 is a slap in the face to every single Bucs fans who is passionate about this team but especially to those who truly scrimp and save to support this team. This is why I believe Schiano needs to be fired sooner than later. I’m not suggesting ownership should always kowtow to the fanbase but there comes a point and time where you can no longer sell the fanbase a bill of goods.

  20. Morgan Says:

any Buc fan who “can’t sleep at night” do to a loss or do to a poor season really needs to reassess their own lives….

Never ceases to amaze me the crap this fool comes up with to try and make Schiano out to be a victim here.

  22. Patrick in VA Says:

@bucsqccity- i’m in a similar boat. I’ve got tickets to the November falcons game and i’m not nearly as pumped about it now as I was when I bought the tickets. Hopefully there be some good people watching at least

  23. richmondtxbucsfan Says:

I wonder if the glazers will give him a season with “his” qb. A first round caliber qb of his choosing. I am with most of the fans here in calling for him to be fired. BUt to me, him getting the glazers to release freeman speaks volumes of support.

  24. Patrick in VA Says:

I don’t know that that says a whole lot about whether they support him. Freeman didn’t get a contract and was likely on his way out anyway. Glazers probably figured why not give him a chance to do it with the guy he wanted. its not like they were benching a winning quarterback for schiano’s guy

  25. chickster Says:

The glazers are supporting him that’s why he can sleep so fans are going to have to live with this until the end of the season they wont eat anymore money but in the end I think they will have to fire him and another bad loss to Atlanta may all it takes we will see

  26. Meh Says:

Don’t talk to me about his livelihood. He’ll make more money in this failed coaching job than most people see in their lifetimes. I have no problems with people making money, but on the flip side I’m not about to feel sorry for a failure that still makes serious bank. I can promise you that my 4-6 games (8-12 tickets) a year makes a bigger difference to my budget than Schiano getting canned and STILL getting paid millions.

    Cry me a freaking river.

  27. Mark-o Says:

Joe, you take yourself a bit too seriously – seriously dude, it’s football, a game. Yes, he makes millions, but I can assure you, Joe, he works a hell of a lot harder than any of the “fans”, he is under a great deal more stress and not to mention our families are not subject to the same venom which was on display yesterday – Sure there are emotions involved with being a fan, but please save the ssanctimonious, self-rightous view that somehow fans are “suffering” while he lives the good life – It’s a game, it’s entertainment, and if any fan is allowing it to control their lives to the extent it is causing emotional or financial harm, then the problem is with them, not Greg Schiano..

It’s not sanctimonious. The fans are suffering and Schaino is living the good life. And if “it’s entertainment,” then why doesn’t Schiano treat it as such. They guy wouldn’t go for the win late in games multiple times this season when Freeman was under center. That would have been entertaining versus playing not to lose. You can’t have it both ways. The head coach should never claim he’s as frustrated as the most fervent fan. –Joe

  28. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

Schiano “they aren’t more frustrated than I am no matter how fervent a fan they are.”

Joe ” don’t say you’re more frustrated than the last of the face-painted, Bucs-tattoed fans out there. It’s just not accurate.”

He didn’t say he was more frustated he said they aren’t more frustrated than he is….there is a difference.

I’m not splitting hairs here…and I’m not defending Schiano’s record…but you can’t lable him as inacurate unless you are inside his head.

You’re not splitting hairs? Really? –Joe

  29. DDavis Says:

Perspective. If fans really are sacrificing food on the table for tickets, their priorities need to be realigned. We need to love our family and like our sports. Be as passionate as we want be don’t be ridiculous.

You’re right, we aren’t paid millions to coach the team. That’s exactly why there’s no way that any of us are as frustrated as he is. When we lose, we can be mad, throw things, maybe pay up on a bet. Then we wake up on Monday and go to work and life goes on. If he keeps losing, he’ll lose his job and then he will have an actual reason to lose sleep at night.

We haven’t been out there all year, coaching and scheming in 90+ weather and insane humidity, only to see the team fail to execute. We aren’t getting criticized from every angle and from seemingly every news station. We aren’t dealing with reporters and hearing calls for our heads non stop. No, we aren’t as frustrated as he is. That face-paint will be taken off, those tattoos, while essentially permanent, have no bearing on the team whatsoever.

Let’s be fans, true fans through thick and thin. We can and are mad and frustrated but let’s keep it in perspective. He is the head of the team and while we’re at home cleaning, cutting the grass, watching a movie, whatever, he’s getting blasted from Sunday to Sunday, non stop. Yes, he is and always will be more frustrated than us, no matter how much we care.

  31. chickster Says:

I drive 6 hours to the game and I just cant stand the drive home feeling I am being ripped off he talks about fans support that a slap in my face not to mention all the money I spend my God its just 5 games into the season and were done

  32. chickster Says:

It doesn’t even matter how many games they will or can win its done because every year is different we all have seen teams finish strong and the next year with no difference there is a reason for that a strong showing means nothing

  33. Jeff Says:

Im a season ticket holder and just got back from the other coast. I have made every game thus far and travel 500 miles to do it. I will also be there for the reset of the season. This also is my vacation time to do this. (Thank God my girlfriend is ok with it. lol) I have to support this team even when they are losing, but when they are winning it will make it that much more meaningful to me. I will stick by this team until the day I die, I also would expect all other fans to do so as well. I have followed the Bucs since I was a little boy, and know they will be good its just a matter of time. I am shocked about how things have gone so far, but I also do believe there is a reason for everything. It just wasn’t meant to be the year. I also support Schiano and feel a coaching change is not the answer. Its more like the offensive coordinator, O line staff and GM need to be let go. That has been where the issues have been in my opinion. The best thing we as fans can do for this team right now is just continue to support them we have to be there even when the times are tough. Trust me when I played football it meant alot knowing people still supported you even though the outcome wasn’t pretty. One day it will all pay off, and we can say we were there through all of the hard times, and more importantly the players will appreciate it. Stay positive people and continue to support the Bucs! Buc 4 life!

  34. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

What the hell do you expect him to say….”I’m sure the fans are more frustrated than I am…because I get paid a bundle and they have to work very hard to help the Glazers pay me.”

“I think I’m a bad coach that needs to be fired immediately” and “Its all my fault…so don’t can anyone else”

I mean….torch the guy when he deserves to be torched but this is getting to be “cry wolf”….

He still will and should be held accountable for his Wins and Losses but that does not change the simple truth that it is his craft, his profession, his livelihood, his family, his reputation at stake. REGARDLESS of the emotional investment you have made in the team or the amount of money he has made.

You need to wake up. Many fans do take it seriously. And they’re Bucs fans for life. If Schiano moves on to coach DBs for the Patriots or coach in college, he won’t give the Bucs a second thought, whereas many fans will take their Bucs passions to their deathbeds — literally. Fans do live it 24/7, if they didn’t, Joe would have much less of a business. It’s not a game to everyone. Joe was making the point that Schiano should know that. –Joe

  44. BirdDoggers Says:

Schiano might not be losing sleep at night, but the Glazers should be. Their winless football organization is the center of media scrutiny, fan angst, NFLPA allegations against the head coach and a MRSA problem. The Glazers need to do some serious evaluation to understand how the wheels came off their business.

  47. Jordon Says:

Regardless of whether you like Schiano or not, I’m sure he is frustrated, embarrassed and upset too! This kind of season…especially when we are loaded with high priced talent that was brought in to “Win Now”…is hard to stomach. It’s hard to say be patient, but what choice do we have…I can imagine it was hard for Colts fans to go 2-14 a few years ago, but then they drafted Andrew Luck and built a good team around him. I think the Bucs have several issues to deal with…our O-Line is not nearly as stout as most fans thought…our secondary is still struggling despite Revis and Goldson…and outside of VJax and MW19 our WR’s and TE’s have been a complete mess! Most of all I think our offensive play calling has been horrendous. I feel good about our RB’s, DLine, LB’s, Jackson and Williams and …I’m starting to think that Glennon may have the tools to be a decent QB in this league…but there are many other areas of need on this team and suffering through another lousy season might be the price we pay for the shortcomings! As for coach Schiano…that decision is for the Glazer family to make, but coaching changes in the middle of the season almost never turn into more wins!

Ok so he doesn’t appear to be a good coach. We get it. That has nothing to do with how much he cares about his job nor does it give any fan any right to say “he should never say he cares more than me”. That doesn’t even make sense. As a football coach it’s his job to care more than you. Lol, I can see you are very very angry and aren’t thinking rationally. So I’ll give you a break.

I have been waiting for some sign of improvement. But each year I am teased and then left hanging. I was hoping that Freeman was the answer (he wasn’t), I was hoping Morris was the answer (he was not), I was really hoping Schaino was the answer (it now seems he may not).

I think sadly I am going to save my $4000.000 plus parking costs, fuel costs, food costs and cancel my tickets. I Love the Bucs but its seems it’s not reciprocal.

As for changing the GM and Coach that might be what is needed. but dam you people standing at the tunnel waiting to scream obscenities at the players and coach. just stop going to games that your best way to show ownership you fed up. I didn’t even watch the game on tv because i have seen enough to know i will be frustrated watching this team. so way waste my (your) time. I know it’s very difficult to not go or turn on the game but i felt much better at the end of the day knowing i didn’t waste my time.

    _______________________________________________________________

My point is that those fans are not rational people. To get so upset about a game that has no bearing on your everyday life is irrational. You’ll never convince me that the average fan lives with a Bucs loss 24-7 and takes it to their passion for the team to their deathbed. If they do they need serious therapy. You can try to blow smoke up my ass all you want but that doesn’t mean you’re right. Do the fans have to read the headlines about FIRE THE FANS??? No, it’s ‘fire Schiano’ and if you seriously think that fans are more frustrated than he is then you’re one of the ones that need counseling.

I see a team play so good for the first (except Jets game), second and sometimes the third quarter only to see a collapse in the final quarter. I am still in shock that yesterday we had multiple third and longs and no doug martin up the middle or off the tackles. It was a Glennon throw…and completion on a drive that started on the one yard line. That is improvement. But of course we take a step forward and then two steps back – Multiple holding penalties by our O-line and a few stupid penalties and lucky fumbles. Sully in the booth produced 20 points (I know it was agianst the eagles) but I still want to believe. We have winnable games ahead so i will wait and see. GO BUCS!!!!

  65. TBuc_40 Says:

Any fan that sacrifices their livelihood for a team has their priorities backwards. If you decide to not go on vacation and buy season tickets, that is a decision YOU made, and this team, coach, organization doesn’t owe you anything. Your decisions are yours alone, and stop trying to blame someone else for them.

Now, as for the coach, I think he’s sincere, but that doesn’t change the fact that we’re losing and if he can’t fix that, then he goes!!

  66. PRBucFan Says:

    @TBuc_40

Like I said earlier, as die hard fans this may be a hard pill to swallow,

    but it’s the simple truth.

  67. WinterSpringsBucsFan Says:

This website has an email link to send a message to the Glazers (supposedly)

    http://fireschiano.com/fire-him.html

    Don’t hold anything back.

  68. deminion Says:

just wanna see a win.. im with joe on this one the fans are suffering i knw i am havent seen playoff football in how many yrs? havent seen a winning teams since 2010? tired of it man then we get a coach who wants it his way or the highway

  69. Meh Says:

I’d love to have some of you as my customers. I could take hundreds or even thousands of dollars, smack you in the face, and you just say thanks!

  70. PRBucFan Says:

Yup, no ones forcing you to spend a dime on this team.

  71. buc4lyfe Says:

    WHOA WAIT…….

you mean this isnt freeman’s fault? it has to be freeman’s fault, maybe he called the eagles and leaked information right? find a way to blame freeman and nevermind the fact that we have freeman2 playing who cant throw an accurate pass beyond 20 yards and despite that he played good enough to win by taking us on long drives…..no the only thing frustrating is people finally realizing the coaches are the reason we are losing….we talked about how bad freeman looked but shouldnt the same apply to darrelle revis, even he looks lost in the this defense doing something he’s never had to do before

fire him now so they dont take the whole offense to find a coach and gm, fire him and they can start their search now and let the guy look at the team from a hands off point of view to see whats wrong and who needs to go or stay

  72. MadMax Says:

Rabid Buc fan and she’s foaming at the mouth…you’ll see when she finally gets up :/

    http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d76_1381621206

  73. PRBucFan Says:

Freeman gets no exemption, he still was part of the problem, and still needed to go.

He’s already been outplayed by the rook.

  74. buc4lyfe Says:

yep and were still losing so no exceptions for the coach

  75. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

So far as I know the fans don’t have millions on the line…so I think Schisno is right, Joe.

  76. nate Says:

This guy just doesnt get it…its that simple..

  77. PRBucFan Says:

No one is saying it is, but that has nothing to do with Freeman failing

  78. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

Freeman is history, gone, departed, terminated, through, finished, vanished, elsewhere, SYONARA, ADIOS, AU-REVOIR, Auf WIEDERSHEN, CHEERIO, ADJO, ANTIO, DO SVIDANIYA, HASTA LA VISTA, BYE-BYE…. SO LONG
Of course, Schiano would say CAIO!!!

  79. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

It’s still Bush’s fault so why can’t it be Freeman’s?

  80. PRBucFan Says:

    @TBBF

Lol He was brought up, so I had to remind em 😀

  81. Meh Says:

    I already spent the dimes.

And don’t you get it? I want to keep spending the dimes. That’s why I’m so pissed off.

  82. PRBucFan Says:

    LoL

I want to keep spending them too. I hear ya.

  83. buc4lyfe Says:

    @Tampabaybuctfan

BECAUSE UMMM WHEN BUSH LEFT OFFICE SOME OF HIS POLICIES HAD JUST BEGUN AT THE BEGINNING OF THAT YEAR AND OTHERS HAD TO EXPIRE……THE BOTTOM LINE IS HE’S NOT CUT OUT FOR THE NFL PERIOD, CHIP KELLY HAS 3 WINS AND COULD POSSIBLY HAVE JUST AS MANY WINS AS HIM BY THE END OF THE YEAR AND HE’S AN EX COLLEGE COACH BUT THATS JUST AN EXCUSE, EITHER YOU CAN COACH OR YOU CANT AND HE CANT BECAUSE CLEARLY WE HAVE A MORE TALENTED TEAM

  84. Eric Says:

What I want to know is how in the hell allegedly smart people like the Glazer Boys and our boy wonder GM thought this Schiano fiasco was gonna work in the first place.

It took two minutes on google to find out the people at Rutgers had huge questions about the guy, and he was known as a poor game day coach. That’s among the people that know him best!

Boy were they right about that! And the one game above .500 record in the Big East. And NO “turning around” Rutgers (if he really did) does not mean you can be a good NFL Coach!
    I wanna know Why!!!!

This had zero chance from day one.

  85. Chef Paul Says:

We as fans are allowed and expected to be emotional. And we make good use of it. He can’t be emotional the way we can and do. But he has to be atleast or more frustrated. It just appears that we are more frustrated because he can’t go up there and throw a remote, punch a wall, kick a dog, or drink a bottle of booze. I don’t think most fans are “frustrated” as much as we are just pissed off.

Not losing sleep is probably just another lie

  86. Capt. Tim Says:

JB- lol. Those 3 really are clueless Zombies!!

Why should Schiano be upset? He was a .500 coach at lil Rutgers. He’s never been a winner! And he’s making more Money than Ever- and he has full reign to be the Lil Dictator he’s always wanted to be!!and he’s running the wretched offense he used at Rutgers!

He’s having the time of his life!

  87. crazy Says:

Coach, I’m sure you care and sure you believe but you’re not showing any signs of improvement or any signs that improvement is coming.

  88. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

    @ Buc 4 Lyfe

Just yankin’ chain…. By the way….Chip Kelly was the Glazer’s choice over Schiano also….

  89. Justin Says:

Schiano is just making his hole deeper. This team is going south fast.

I would say this to coach: greg! I’ve been frustrated before you got here! I’m frustrated now and I’ll still be frustrated when you are gone.

seriously what has greg accomplished here besides jettisoning some bad apples? nothing.

And I swear if I have to hear the “we will turn it around” “it will turn” comments from again, I may personally head over to OBP and headbutt him.

  90. Drew Says:

After listening to the player interviews I have a different view. I believe this gets turned around against Atlanta and they go on a run. The players are putting this squarely on their shoulders and believe in Schiano. I have to call out the players to take the game to the next level.

  91. Justin Says:

And I wasn’t standing in the southeast corner when Schiano ran into the tunnel. But when they are 7 articles written today about what the fans said to him and the first question in his presser was to react to the fans, I could only imagine what he heard.

I guarantee Tony, Jon or Raheem never caught that much hate from the people.

  92. MTM Says:

Of course the fans are more frustrated than Schiano. They have had 10 yrs of sh*t sandwiches and cannot stomach anymore. Time to reboot the system.

  93. Capt. Tim Says:

“Freeman has been out played by the Rook”
Glennon won a game? Last time I checked- he’s lost every game, and Passer rating is about the same.

Oh, I forgot! You 3 zombies think Glennon loses”better”!
And you think Schiano is a victim.

Lmao. You claim JB has multiple poster names- but it’s you.

No way 3 different guys could be that dumb!! Lol

  94. Buc1987 Says:

I keep reading all these comments about this “win now” roster. Apparently 90% of analysts did not agree with the Bucs fan base when they made their predictions for the team over the summer. Most had the Bucs winning 6-7 games tops. Does that sound like a team built to “win now”?

  95. MTM Says:

    @ Captain-Tim

Schiano going to turn the ship around. Didn’t you listen to his press conference. They’ll look at the film, breakdown every play, come back and laid another turd on Sunday!

    I hear that!!
Are these 3 even BUC fans….Hell even football fans? We’re nothing but fools for spending money on tickets and have NO RIGHT whatsoever to voice displeasure with the idiots in charge of the team? Yeah Okay…..lol

As far as Schiano having the time of his life, I don’t know about that, but the $Millions he’s stuffing in his bank account, I’m sure lessen the pain of what he’s brought upon himself, with Dominicks help. Somehow it doesn’t lessen ours, like these fools are alluding that it should.

  97. PRBucFan Says:

    @1987

    The talent is definitely there

  98. Eric Says:

    But we shouldn’t be upset….LMAO

  100. PRBucFan Says:

“In the end no one is making anyone here go and invest anything into this team, emotionally or financially.

That is your choice, you do it for your entertainment, and that’s as far as it goes.

You wanna spend your income on a means of entertainment great, don’t bitch about it. It’s no one else’s fault but your own if it ends up being a “waste”.”

I’m out though the psycho has begun to post and respond to himself.

    Ahahahaha what a damn loser

  101. MTM Says:

Schiano turned Rutgers into a respectable .500 football team from a less respected .25 football team. Maybe Bucs fans expectations are just too high.

I’m sure with Schiano’s cerebral style of coaching they’re just a few years away from being a respectable .500 club.

  102. Eric Says:

Can someone find out from the rock where the lasting contenders are?

Be nice if they showed up. They were all about 5 or something before. May have changed their creed.

    I’m issuing a BOLO.

  103. The Real Drew Says:

If you can’t sleep because we are losing, you need to get your priorities straight. I don’t like it, but I can sleep. I mean you really have no control over it, so why let it screw up your life?

  104. 1neb Says:

Its so amazing how quick people turn on each other . I’m not going to sit here and say I’m a big schiano fan . but as I always say I’m a buc fan and with that being said I will cheer for anyone representing that team . you guys say you are true fans …well start acting like one and stop bitching and moaning like your wife . GO BUCS $$$$$! I’m always in section 124 screaming . see you there for my birthday real buc fans

  105. D-Rome Says:

I listened to the coach’s show for the first time ever today. The callers were a hoot to say the least. I can’t believe I’ve missed this all these years.

  106. SeanyMac in SC Says:

“There are legions of fans that have sacrificed vacations, good food on the table and more to buy season tickets. ”
    ————————————————————————————————-
Really!?! Good food on the table or season tickets!?! Those “legions” really need to re-think their priorities in life! Its a game people, calm the hell down. Yes I enjoy the Bucs (since 1976 when I saw the very first game) and follow what the team is doing, but to give up vacation or eating a good meal, well that person needs mental help.

  107. T_Buc40 Says:

I’m confused about the 8 pro bowlers and all the talent BS.

Nicks – Injured and been out
Joseph – Injured and not playing well
Revis – injured and not 100% (there is a reason he’s playing zone like he is and it’s not because coaches are not smarter than JBF)
Penn – Playing well, but hard to do too much with a rotating LG
Goldson – playing well, but too many penalties that cost first downs
Martin – Can’t run with a bad line, and 8 man boxes
Jackson – playing well when QB has their head in game.
McCoy – playing like a beast.

Also, we had a QB that was by all accounts disconnected from the team. Hard to do anything with a QB that’s in twilight zone.

I know we are 0-5 and not looking good, but we haven’t quit (ie Morris era) and we do show improvement in parts of our game every week if you open you’re eyes and don’t let someone else tell you how to feel.

  108. Buc1987 Says:

    @SeanyMac in SC
I gave up my annual family vacation to get season tickets this year. It is what it is. Times are still tough in this country despite what the White House keeps telling us. Am I pissed about it? No not really. It was my decision and I thought it was going to be a good one. Despite the losses we still have fun at the games anyways. The end of the season record is not going to determine whether or not I get them next year. I still have too much fun. So I might have to re-structure my finances so we can go on a vacation and still get the tickets. Maybe cheaper seats and a cheaper vacation. Just saying I’m one of the ones that did pass up the vacation to buy the tickets.

  109. C'mon man Says:

Seriously Joe your not even gonn answer my question? Your just gonna delete my post? I expected more of you.

It was a silly question. Obviously, Joe has no problem with the content, otherwise it wouldn’t be there. –Joe

  110. Buc1987 Says:

The Real Drew…YES I’m that big of a fan that I did lose sleep over the losses maybe not the away games, but the home ones I sure did. After going to the Saints game I was up until 4 in the morning. I could not shake the loss out of my mind. Every play kept replaying over and over in my head. I went to bed a 1 too. So that was 3 hrs of replaying it in my head and it sucked.

  111. Ed Says:

The Falcon’s just called and asked the Glazer’s to keep coach toes on the line one more week so they can pad their stats.

  112. Andrew 1 Says:

lets not pretend to know what these coaches and players are going through, that includes you Joe. nobody knows these guys on a personal level, not even the media, so when Schiano says the fans arent more frustrated and disappointed than he is, Im more apt to believe it. say what you want about Schiano, but the guy has put in a lot of hard work and dedication into this team, so the fact that the results havent been there has got to be killing him. but to argue about who’s more disappointed more, Schiano or the fans, is just childish.

Yeah, well, Schiano started it. 😉 –Joe

  113. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ Joe

    lmao. that was good.

  114. PRBucFan Says:

    lol I doubt that 😉

  115. Capt. Tim Says:

I don’t think he’s put in a lot of hard work.
I think he’s spent a lot of energy of manic behavior.

He isn’t a nice guy. He’s a major Di*k. He deserves the national humiliation he’s getting. And then some!

But hard work? Troubled over results? No way.
A person who is truly upset over the results of their Efforts- reappraise what has happened, and make adjustments!
Schiano laughs at the idea. He says it is the players not executing, and it will improve, when they do.
He also said that making halftime adjustments is rediculous. He said that halftime is the players time to drink, eat, and go to bathroom.

Reading these comments- bear in mind that he did not win in his time at Rutgers. He is a loser here. Yet he sees no reason to change.
” to continue to repeat the same action- and expect different results, is the true definition of Insanity”- Albert Einstein

He isn’t upset. He’s making more money than he ever should have. Far more than he’s worth! And he is assured of making that money for a couple more years , win or lose!!

    Good job dom

  116. ronco Says:

Pretty sure a coach loses more sleep over a bad game than any fan. Fans also generally do not get their names and reputations dragged through the media or have radio programs where people call in to tell them everything they do wrong at their job. Fairly sure that all adds up to more frustration than what any fan feels.

Good post, but you have too many apologists here that believe he’s a good coach and an even better man. It’s easier for them, to see him in that light I suppose.

You keep posting and letting them know the truth. I just can’t stomach people that call themselves fans, yet berate those of us that spend the $$ year in and year out than chastise us for actually giving a shit and voicing our opinions about what’s wrong with the club.

Keep fightin’ the good fight with these “fans?”.

  118. Sonny1976 Says:

You know at this point it goes beyond Schiano. Its an organizational thing. The Glazers have been asleep at the wheel since the super bowl win to the tune of a 69-91 record since 2003. Thats the 9th worst record in the NFL in the last ten full seasons. After this season, and the success of the Chiefs and Dolphins (so far) the Bucs will likely have the 5th worst record over the last 11 seasons. Is it any wonder the stadium is half-empty? Should we be surprised when 20,000 Eagles fans take over our stadium? Is it worth the price of admission anymore? We’re approaching levels of futility not seen since the Leeman Bennett /Richard Williamson days. I’m fed up with it. And I’ll play out the string this year and use my tickets, but I’m staying home in subsequent seasons until they blow the entire thing up and start from scratch. Players, coaches, GM and all.

  119. BigMacAttack Says:

So Schiano has had to handle 14 losses in 21 games. We have endured Buc losses since 2003.

Schiano sleeps well at night. Jon Gruden never slept as the Bucs coach.

Bad scheme on offense, bad scheme on defense, not getting the most out of your players and catering to their strengths.

Bad play from good players = Bad Coaching. Ask Mike Singletary and what Harbaugh did with the same players.

Hey Coach, how’s that square peg in the round hole working out for you?

I truly expect an announcement from the Glazers tomorrow and Schiano may not sleep so well.

  120. BigMacAttack Says:

And the Refs absolutely despise Schiano. They are doing everything they can to get him removed. Why endure this any longer? So maybe we can beat the sucky Falcons by 1 pt? No Schiano will blow it in the last minute, Ryan will drive down and win in the final minute.

    The Lonesome Loser

Dominick also is to blame but not as much.

  121. Bobby Says:

@BigMac….get a grip dude. Just admit that our players can’t execute late in the game. It’s not ‘scheme’ that made Lavonte David hit Geno. It’s not ‘lack of adjustment’ that made Banks get beat deep or Goldson and Barron lose coverage in quarter zone. It’s not ‘poor coaching’ that makes the refs throw a flag after every big gain in the second half. It’s not bad coaching that makes our O-Line open holes so small that even Doug Martin can’t fit through them. Coaches coach and players play and our players have not played very well. Coaching could be better..sure, but these players haven’t quit on Schiano, only the fans and most especially the Freeman supporters. I’m pulling for the guy and hoping he can get it turned around. If not, he’ll be gone without me wasting the season hoping he fails.

  122. Buck Rogers Says:

Actions speak louder then words. FIX IT! WINNNNNNNN

  123. Evan Says:

So i heard on 98.7 the fan that if Schiano were to be fired, our top candidates would be Lovie Smith, Bill Cowher, & Ken Wisenhunt. Any thoughts on that Joe?
