Failure On All Fronts
October 7th, 2013Former Bucs tight end Anthony Becht, an analyst on the Buccaneers Radio Network, gave sort of a state-of-the-Bucs address on WDAE-AM 620 this morning. And Becht didn’t bring great news.
He discussed an organizational failure on all fronts as it related to Josh Freeman’s tenure in Tampa, and he spoke of Freeman’s personal screwups, as well. But Becht had more daggers for the big crop of current Bucs veterans and young players who “didn’t live up to the expectation” through the first four games.
Becht also is frustrated by the most important position on the field. He didn’t sound like a Mike Glennon Mob member. “Who is our quarterback?” Becht asked rhetorically.
“It’s tough to swallow as a Bucs fan because you think they’re that close about a month ago, and then all of a sudden, bam, you know everbody’s world’s changed,” Becht said.
Becht also adds plenty more chatter in the audio below, including takes on the Eagles matchup Sunday.

Just another of many talking heads trying to stay relevant.

MadMax,
Go ahead. Lay into this guy and tell him to move on and every other credible analyst after him that isn’t afraid to tell the truth. Pull your head out of the sand why don’t you! Just because you can’t hear the freight train doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Beware the rider of the pale horse!

Some are just JFro-6pak fans and not buc fans.

Let’s all try and remember what a sad sack of a QB Freeman was. A career loser is one of the kinder things I can say.
Watched the Broncos and Cowchicks game and was amazed at what good QB and WR chemistry both teams has.
Buh bye Josh. You were an awful football player and not much of a person either.

I am ready for our 1st of many Ws! I hope our men had a dam good week of practice and are ready to bust there butts this week. Season is only over if you let it be over. GO BUCS!!

Freeman was not a leader. He was not a team player. He expected to be babied and a lot of fans thought he should have been.
He had potential, a lot of it. But he clearly lacks the mental capacity and maturity required of an NFL QB. For years we couldnt have a veteran back-up on the team because everyone was afraid of rattling Josh and hurting his feelings. I’ve never heard of such nonsense before at this level. Did the drafting of Glennon really push him over the edge mentally? That’s pathetic.

Couch,
I made a terrible mistake in addressing a couple of you underlings this morning. If you will forgive me I promise I will never make that mistake again.
Looking forward to talking with you at about 4pm Sunday. Last time the Bucs played I looked all over and couldn’t find you . I have a sneaking idea where you were, but please come out and play this Sunday. I’ll be lurking for you! Lol

Can anyone actually imagine Freeman firing up his team before games the way Brees or kaepernick? or Freeman being the one that fires his team up at halftime? Now I only named 2 QB’s. I’m sure there are many more QB’s that teams look to for leadership and they fill that role. Did Freeman really sound or act like he was that type of guy?Ever? I want a QB that’s going to fire up my team especially when the chips are down. I’m not even talking about his lack of skills either.

It’s ok Splengo. I am use to you making mistakes. Lol, And I was here last Sunday and I’ll be here next Sunday to celebrate a W! Hopefully.
October 7th, 2013 at 11:47 am
Lol you guys are sad. Still ripping into Freeman even after he’s gone. Are you that afraid to focus on this season?
October 7th, 2013 at 11:50 am
@ Jerry, when someone has “Potential” it means they haven’t done anything yet. Good Call

I don’t care about Josh Freeman anymore. It’s done with. How are the Bucs preparing for the Eagles this weekend? Is Greg Schiano going to coach his team to another loss by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? Are the Bucs going to run that same B.S. Rutgers offense again?
October 7th, 2013 at 11:51 am
@ Biff Barker – Exactly
October 7th, 2013 at 11:58 am
@D Rome
That’s what I wanna know! Are we ever going to open up the offense?? We did bring in some more speed at receiver with Owusu, Demps, and Underwood. They need to get production from SOMEBODY.

Josh will always be the victim. I think his camp released his medical records so he could be released from the Bucs. He had every thing to gain by that. Just like I don’t think minnisota wanted him for two years. That’s his agent making up another lie. On the other hand I wish I had his agent. He got paid 13 million this year for being 33rd worst player in the NFL. Way to work it kid.
October 7th, 2013 at 12:14 pm
you can think what you want, the reality is – the Bucs are paying him almost 8 mill 9 million NOT to play n Tampa, while the Vikes are paying him 3 million TO play in Minny.
Josh wins. Buc fans lose.

Say again Splengo? Is your head up your arse?
