Brooks Talks Leaks, Schiano Tactics & Tight Ends
October 6th, 2013Bucs icon Derrick Brooks sits down every Wednesday with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620.
The audio is below is full of relevant Bucs and NFL stuff, though it was cut before Josh Freeman got released. Brooks talks about why it’s such a big deal for the entire NFL that Josh Freeman’s confidential medical records were released, in part, by ESPN. And Brooks also analyzes Greg Schiano’s reported tactic of videotaping Bucs on the sidelines in search of bad behavior. Brooks also cautions fans not to write off rookie tight end Tim Wright just because he’s an unknown from (all together now) Rutgers.

I agree with Brooks that the release of private Medical information is disturbing no matter where it comes from.
I think a case could be made that Freeman benefited from the release. Immediately after the release Josh became the victim and a sympathetic figure. The Bucs (mainly Schiano) were vilified. Schiano was accused of leaking the info in order to further tarnish Josh and justify his benching.
Well…another case could be made.
How about Josh with advice from his agent, releasing the information in order to achieve exactly what he got…a release with full pay…which allows him to sign with any team at any time and double-dip financially.
We may never know where it came from…perhaps a 3rd party…so the benefit of innocence should go to all.

When you say that Freeman got “caught” do you mean to say cut or do you mean he got caught leaking his own info? Great site thanks.

I Josh get picked up by a team they assume his contract or negotiate a new long term one. I don’t believe there would be any double dipping so I think you can cross that conspiracy theory off.

“though it was cut before Josh Freeman got caught.”
Caught at what, precisely ? I know there’s speculation (as above) that he was the leak, , but nothing proven, as far as I know. Or are we talking about ‘Ritilin-gate’ .

i can’t recall which article…but it explained that Freeman didn’t have “offset” language in his contract so it would permit him to double dip. Of course that could be wrong…as many are.
