Mike Williams Ready For New QB
September 26th, 2013Yesterday, Bucs players put on a good face, saying they would play hard and how third round draft pick Mike Glennon is the man. Now. Right away.
While it is difficult to believe some veterans, like Dashon Goldson, Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks, weren’t a little bit irritated at relying on a rookie signal-caller trying to salvage their season, Bucs wide receiver Mike Williams insisted that was not the case.
“[The Bucs] made the decision for a reason,” Williams said. “They didn’t make the decision to keep losing. Hopefully it is a great decision and we will go out and try to get the rest of these wins.”
Well, maybe getting a new quarterback, even a rookie who has never taken a regular season snap, can be enough of a shot in the arm to energize the offense.
We will all find out in a few short days.

Anyone care to speculate on how many games we’ll win this year? I’ll wait till after Sunday to hazard a guess.

I hope they come out energized and kick some serious butt.

Glennon = Brian Hoyer ?

One of the best things for Glennon’s success will be a team that rallies around him.

When a hockey team is doing poorly, the goalie gets pulled and the backup goes in. The team always tries harder in front of him, win or not. I’m hoping it serves as a wake-up call. Going into the bye week, this game is critical for Glennon. If it doesn’t go well, that leaves the rest of the team an awfully long time to second guess the powers that be.
I’m pulling for you Mike – grip it and rip it.

Again, very telling not 1 current Buc has stated publicly or anonymously they disagree with the decision. Only speculation on my part, but it crtainly seems there was some kind of disconnect between Josh and his teammates, at least this past offseason and early regular season.

Though facing adversity, we will climb out of this hole! Glennon will prove himself a real leader! GO BUCS!
September 26th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
sorry Joe, this was a non story. that was as cliche an answer as you’d get from a guy who just got tied down to a fat contract.
the guys not gonna jeopardize his career/contract and say “this whole situation is bullsh!t Joe!” tears up like T.O. “thats my quarterback!”.

Players can be believed about as much as Schiano.
Remember how they all loved Rah. Then he was gone and he was undisciplined.
Totally typical, tells nothing except Mike Williams isn’t stupid.

Direct snap….LOL
to Harvin!!! he is out savior!
September 26th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
Agree with Eric… no one is going to say anything publicly about Glennon.
Hope for the best….

@TampaMac….I 100% ge tthe same feeling. When this first broke, I thought the receivers and team would be VERY frustrated. But ALL THE DROPPED PASSES!!! Maybe this team was losing it’s fight because they were tired of Freeman and KNEW the change was coming. It’s all on Glennon now. I’m just a Tampa Fan hoping a QB comes riding in and sweeps us all off our feet into a sea of winning. Very nice of the Glaziers to step up and throw some tickets out there and eliminate the black outs as well. These owners have stepped up and I hope it’s here to stay. If the teams can just start winning the fans will come.

Actually I agree with Eric, all this proves is Williams is a lot more street saavy that I thought.
Let’s face it folks Glennon isn’t going to win games for the Bucs
Glennon is going to get sacked a lot
HOPEFULLY Glennon won’t throw too many INT’s
The biggest question I have is how will the other players respond? If Glennon works hard and reaches out it could be a spark that the Bucs haven’t had. The defense has been doing their part.
Actually if Glennon can get his QBR up to 80 or higher it will be an improvement over Freeman.

we will win 10 games and sneak into the playoffs. this D is gonna come out and rip some people. Glennon will play smart. and teams won’t be ready for us over the middle. I bet he even throws to our TE!!!!!!!!!!!

@Kevin,
Same here. I just want to see a winner again. Was just talking to a buddy of mine about the euphoria in the area during the Super Bowl run.. I’d like to experience that once more in my lifetime and sooner rather than later, and you’d have to be delusional at this point to think Josh was still the answer. And I was a Freeman supporter. Don’t know if Glennon is the answer, but I’ll support him as our starting QB. Hopefully he can rally the troops and we can salvage this season. Bucs Life!!
September 26th, 2013 at 8:36 pm
@mrt.if glennon is going to be the answer he will need time to develop of course since we gave freeman’s bitch ass 5 years but I don’t see us winning any more or less games than my preseason prediction of 6-10.
September 26th, 2013 at 9:47 pm
I wonder would the Glazers be willing to reimburse me for my season tix? What a disappointment! I was expecting Beyonce, but got Roseanne!
September 27th, 2013 at 7:12 am
HAH – DBUFAN FOR THE WIN!!
Roseanne indeed.
