Loads Of Abraham, New Cards Looks
September 29th, 2013Mike Glennon will have his share of surprises today in the Arizona Cardinals’ defense. With a injury-devastated linebackers corps, talk all this week from Cardinals coaches was about how the team will move away from its 3-4 defense and use a lot more 4-3 looks because they’re shorthanded at linebacker.
Simply stated, the Cardinals will be mixing it up not just to confuse Glennon but to cover holes in their front-7.
Also, John Abraham, officially a linebacker in the Cards defense, is healthy. And he’s expected to move into a full-time role versus the pass-rush specialist situation he was in.
Consensus out of Arizona is that the Cardinals will make Glennon beat them, loading the box against the run and blitzing him relentlessly. Arizona has playmakers in the secondary, so it’s hardly a bad strategy.

Against this type of defensive scheme we need to use the TE and FB as recievers….play action short quick passes. We also need to get Martin outside more often.
Knowing this is coming, it is foolish to continue to run Martin up the gut….unless, of course it is working early.

This is true but our TEs aren’t good. I just can’t to see how this kid does in his 1st game. I’m praying that Chucky is right about him! Lol

Can’t wait*

Are we talking about Byham and Tim Wright? Stocker and Crabtree are out.
September 29th, 2013 at 9:44 am
Yup. We are starting a rookie. It’s ceremonial for teams to force rookies to beat them. They’ll keep 8 or 9 in the box to stop the Dougernaut.
A long completion or 2 will back them off. Get em Glennon. The Bay area is behind you!!
BF’87 needs to change his sign to “Winnin with Glennon”!

Still wish we had of kept Hillis. He had 2 be a better TE then Wright, right?
September 29th, 2013 at 9:53 am
Let them load the box with 8 or 9….Our plan today ought to be attack them through the air. If we run up the gut…we’ll be playing right into their hands.
We really need to start showing some creativity on offense.

Would rather take my chances with a RBI/FB then the WR turned TE. That’s just me tho…..

We will need good play from our Guards today against Arizona.
I just can’t imagine us losing this game.
A win today will get the National Media off our back, give us a little respectability.
Go Bucs!

I’m going out on a limb…but I think our secondary recievers will have a big game today…..Ogletree, Page & yes….Tim Wright….after all, he was a WR turned TE…he ought to be able to catch a few over the middle. If not, we need to end that “project” right now!!!
Do we know if Demps is activated?
September 29th, 2013 at 9:58 am
Even if our guys get the W…. The team still won’t get respect. Gotta get a few going 2 shut em up
September 29th, 2013 at 9:59 am
Ian Rapoport is reporting that Vincent Jackson may be held out today.
September 29th, 2013 at 9:59 am
Schiano won’t speak actives till he has 2. I’ve been trying 2 find that out myself
September 29th, 2013 at 10:01 am
I think VJax will get a pain shot so he can play, already said he really wants to play. Like someone said earlier, some completions through the air will back their D off….and I think thats exactly whats going to occur. Then the ground and pound Martin game will open up.
21-6 Bucs…with a pick 6 from the D.
September 29th, 2013 at 10:02 am
I think the inactive list comes out an hour before game time.
September 29th, 2013 at 10:05 am
Wheres Raph been lately? Always calling out people for not being “True Buc Fans” for criticizing Josh, and he’s nowhere to be seen in the last 3 days, lol…some “True” fan he is 😉
September 29th, 2013 at 10:05 am
Like 90min b4 game time
September 29th, 2013 at 10:11 am
I think we find ourselves a QB today.
Cannon and smarts, just what the doctor ordered.
Go Bucs!
Go Rays!

Will be a welcomed site if we do! Just under 3hrs
September 29th, 2013 at 10:35 am
I’m hoping V-Jax plays. We need him to keep Peterson busy so we can get Mike W and some others open. I think if they turn Glennon loose we’ll be fine. If they insist on running the ball the first two downs then it could be a long day for our offense. We’ll see just how stubborn Sullivan is if he insists on running into a stacked box all day. Get creative Sully!!!!!!

I wish I could be as cheerful about our prospects today as most seem to be, I like you hope we win but if either vjax or williams doesn’t play and the cards bring relentless pressure on Glennon and load the box to stop the run as it looks they like they will, our secondary receivers will need to step up big time which they haven’t done thus far except for page who flashed some ability in the last game. To expect a rookie QB to excel in these circumstances might be asking too much, I hope he does but lets not be overly disappointed if things don’t go our way. I’m hoping for the best though.

Overly disappointed? I will be pissed if Glennon doesn’t win. According to Schiano he gives us our best chance. Well, the first 2 games of the season Freeman had put us in a position to win so if Glennon is better than Freeman I expect him to do better. Rookie or not it can’t be used as an excuse, especially since it is the lowly Cards and the fact that the team must’ve been worried about a Freeman win making it harder to bench him. No more excuses, either Big Bird wins or Schiano is a complete bust.
