Jets Can’t Figure Out QB Situation
September 3rd, 2013If one is to believe the words from Jets coach Capt. Lou Albano, he still doesn’t know who will start for his team at quarterback when the Jets host the Bucs in the New Jersey Swamplands Sunday.
This is simply absurd to Joe. Just how exactly can the Jets build their offensive game plans without knowing who will be taking snaps? It’s Tuesday for goodness sakes. This is patently preposterous.
The SNY crew discusses the topic in this video.

Of course he knows, so does Geno Smith, he just doesn’t want the bucs to know. Not preposterous at all. Raiders are doing the same thing.
Sanchez isn’t even practicing.

All this tit for tat like it’s gonna make a whole lot difference come Sunday. Simply, they don’t want the Bucs to know who to prepare for. Hello, Capt. Albano, it doesn’t matter!

Agreed. It’s a smokescreen.

as per PFT Sanchez will sit out due to injury – http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/03/report-sanchez-wont-be-able-to-go-this-week/
Of course this can’t be confirmed at the moment. I do think Rex will get much more flak from the press and fans if the report was true. Throwing an inexperienced and unready QB as a starter, because he wanted to win the 3rd preseason game.
At the same time this can be a mind fu** to fool the enemy (mainly us), if it is then nice strategy if it isn’t then that organization is hopeless.

PFT also reported the Jets brass have moved on from Sanchez.
A rather gossamer attempt to deceive by Cap’n Lou Swag.
September 3rd, 2013 at 9:37 am
@Biff correct, also at Jets SB Nation there was a whole article of “Upper management” moving on from Sanchez. The organization seems they gave up on Sanchez and willing to build around Geno this year, this doesn’t mean much as the coaching staff will get fired if this season goes down the drain, a coach will come in and select another QB to build on.
The same can happen to us if we go down the same wrong route the jets are going.
September 3rd, 2013 at 9:48 am
He knows… he’s not telling us. It’s that simple.
September 3rd, 2013 at 9:48 am
Of course he knows and he also knows his best chance to win will be trickery on offense. His D is pretty good and will hold up especially in the first half with emotions running high being the first game of the season. I’m not sure if Smith is a threat in the option or running, but look for some crazy pull a rabbit out of your A$$ type of plays. Looking back at the last two losses to the Jets; Ryan Blitzed basically every single play and in both games the QB’s did very poorly.
September 3rd, 2013 at 9:51 am
I hope the offense has a solution for the blitz packages. I’m sure they know it’s coming, but how will they counter it.

We need to get after Geno Smith. He’s a QB that makes late decisions sometimes. You get him rattled, mistakes will happen. Offensively, Josh Freeman needs to look like a 5th year QB and not the guy who was playing Weeks 12-17 (he was LOST).
We should win this one. Either by 10+ or the spread.

bucnjim,
The Jets are going to establish the running game with Ivory and Powell. They’re going to try and make Geno as comfortable as possible. Look for a lot of rollouts, etc. I’m trying not to undermine the Jets. They do have some good players on defense that can change the game.
September 3rd, 2013 at 10:20 am
Prepare for the mobility of Geno, and the rest will fall into place.
September 3rd, 2013 at 10:21 am
They will pick on our rookie corner, surely we’ll pick on theirs.
September 3rd, 2013 at 11:46 am
Hey now Joe has really proven he does not watch BSPN. It was all over BSPN on the ticker around 10 PM last night. Jets to start Geno Smith.

Just learned that Rex Ryan was 20 miles down the road from me getting ready to watch his son (a walk on WR for clemson), all decked out in clemson gear too. …..hmm, makes me wonder just how much input he has in decision making for the Jets, especially that 53 man roster. Maybe the writing is on the walls, and he wont be as ready for us as we think. I hope so anyway.
