Jets 18, Buccaneers 17
September 8th, 2013Disgraceful!
Joe doesn’t know how else to describe this sloppy, ugly Bucs loss to the Jets this afternoon.
Jimminy Christmas! Geno Smith outplayed Josh Freeman! Think about that. The Jets won this game, despite their rookie QB making all kinds of mistakes.
Greg Schiano has to shoulder a lot of blame with his staff seemingly unprepared for a helmet microphone malfunction early in the game. Teams are schooled to switch to hand signals and other old school tactics, but Freeman looked lost when those difficulties arose.
The Bucs were outcoached today — badly– and sloppy penalties killed them. Isn’t Schiano a details guy?
Speaking of lost, the Bucs’ offensive line was manhandled. Remember how much cash that unit is being paid? Offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan was not creative at all.
Kevin Ogletree again did his Michael Clayton impression with the game on the line, but was bailed out by the genius of Vincent Jackson, who was a monster with nine receptions and 154 yards.
Yeah, it’s one game, one loss, but a very telling loss. Bucs fans had every reason to expect a better performance against a bad football team. Disgraceful.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:26 pm
That was embarrassing! Unbelievable!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
The strongest unit of the game, the D, let us down.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
Nice, F ing job!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
first game, season over, if we lose to that crappy jets game how can u imagine about the division, 49ers, pats, seahawks…. josh freeman, im out on ur bandwagon!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:27 pm
Outcoached by REX fricking RYAN. Schiano should be collecting unemployment tomorrow morning.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
LVD screw up….but the game should have never been that close….we looked like the old Bucs…..defensive penalties due to agressiveness….ok…except for the last one & the penalt to LJ.
Playcalling was awful….it was obvious that we couldn’t run up the middle…but kept trying….and…Josh Freeman can’t throw a short pass.
Hard to be a Buc fan today…..
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
Go packers
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
WHY… WHY….WHY….WHY doe we always make rookie QBs look like Freakin All Pros?????
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
Sorry joe but David cost us that game. Never remember #55 doing that.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
Josh Freeman won this game , and Lavonte David lost it …..plain and simple .
It was a bs call tho .
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
next week is a must win game… if we go 0 and 2… season is over. Schedule is to tough and our team is not good enough. And this is gonna be a very long week… I love the Bucs but after this pre-season and this game… i dont have much hope left
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
No words.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:28 pm
Freeman is not going to carry the team, he is a game manager at best.
The Defense still has much work to do.
Lavonte David is forgiven. Shiz happens, don’t do it again please.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
No Freeman did not win anything… we lost, stop making excuses for a shitty QB
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
It’s gonna be a long, long season. Schiano is exposed. Toss him.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
Too soon to start talking draft?
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
Better not hear one person say that Freeman had us in a position to win the game. We should have won that by 20, it was only bc of Free that we were even in that position at the end of the game where we had to come back to beat possibly the worst team in the NFL. I’m not saying the season is in the bag but I guarantee u WE WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE W FREEMAN, so lower your expectations NOW
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
I don’t know that you can say Geno Smith outplayed Josh Freeman.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:29 pm
Get ready for a long season.
The next two weeks are going to be very ugly.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Would have been almost equally embarrasing to have won this stinker. Almost. Dreadful!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
RAPHAEL,
YOU ARE DEAD IN THE WATER WRONG!
Freeman did too little, too late. Geno won the game.
Open your eyes, our QB is not good.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
The strongest unit of the game, the D, let us down.
——————–
are you kidding me? with the exception of that last drive the D was fantastic.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
So if you prognisticate a bad Bucs team all offseason and you are right are you A)a hater or B)correct?
THAT was awful!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Can’t believe I actually have to pay money to go to the game next week. Some rookie named Drew Brees is playing.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
I thought I had a brain annuirism on Leonard Johnson’s holding call late in the game. My god, what has become of this team.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
this falls all on the defense. How many times did the Bucs get a stop on 3rd down only to have committed a needless penalty to give the Jets an automatic first down? The first half TD should have only been a FG, and the last two FGs should never have taken place. 10 points right there.
Disgusting.
City of Tampa pro sports are choke artists. Loserville
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
This loss could’ve made the difference between 9-7 (no playoffs) and 10-6 (playoffs), if we’re at that point later on in the season.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
I know this is going to turn into a Freeman bash fest but Doug Martin and the penalties were at least as much to blame. With the game on the line Freeman got them in position for the game winning field goal then another penalty killed us.
What did we have 14+ penalties? Very sloppy describes this game perfectly.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Ya Raphael… stop chugging that drink buddy and learn u some football
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
What’s the point of having Kevin “Stone Hands” Ogletree if he drops passes and walks himself out of bounce? The balls were there but he didn’t seem to know what heck was going on. Well I’m not sweating too much it is just one game, but what a heck of a bad game.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Remember: preseason ineptitude doesn’t mean anything
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
REGARDLESS of the bullcrap at the end of the game this loss is squarely on the offense!
The defense gave them countless opportunities to score and doing it once at the end of the game after stalling over and over does not justify anything or provide anykind of excuse for them.
So take all your “well the offense scored on that last drive” arguments and shove them up your arse.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
what a joke
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
joke
September 8th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Terrane,
Look at the box score, or the end of the game.
Freeman didnt do enough, this is the end of the road for the JF5 sh!t show.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Freeman outplayed by a Rookie (and still has that deer in the headlights look). The o-line was a joke. Bad play calling as well
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Haha soooo funnny to hear a Freeman defense, delusional
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Hard to be a Bucs fan today; team was not well prepared- the mic thing happened in preseason and I remember Schaino specifically being asked about it- “they were preparing for that scenario as a result.” Free looked like a seasoned vet when the malfunction happened- wait, he actually looked more ruffled than ever. Lavonte’s penalty was a soft call that would not have been flagged had it been on our sideline (jets reaction helps to get the flag of of pocket) but it was still a boneheaded play- should have not left it to one officials interpretation. Can’t wait to see how Schiano handles what should be an absolute GRILLING tonight and tomorrow- after he deflects and says he needs to see the tape.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Yes Josh was far from perfect but stupid penalties, lousy o-line play and questionable play calling sure didn’t help him out very much.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Don’t know about you guys, but I counted at least 4 uncalled penalties that would have ept drives going. Faceguarding on MIlliner, Josh being pulled down by the facemask on the goal line and two others I’ll have to review the film to remember the details of…horrible game by all involved, including one of the NFL’s premier officiating groups.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
It’s going to be a very, very, very long season after that debacle.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Horrible COACHING offense was outplayed by the Jets seriously ? Freeman is the same freeman won’t change. If we tank this season I have a feeling Schiano and his whole coaching staff are gone along with GM Dom and QB Freeman.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
I hope the loss is not pinned on josh freeman.. The O-line plain sucked.. A very tough loss to swallow but it was the 1st game and we can expect a much better performance against the saints… LVD don’t hang your head.. U did not lose us the game
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Defense gave the Bucs 7 of their 17. Offense gave away 2 of the 10 they actually scored. This is ALL on the offense.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Coach is still playing college ball, you don’t play for the field goals in the NFL. you go for TD’s and if you don’t get then you kick the field goal. Coach better know NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Shiano got butt out coached again. He is a loser. With a good coach this team has the players to win. Too bad he can’t pull them together.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Might want to photoshop Sulli’s face on that goat….our O play calling was horrible
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Not on Freeman, Lavonte dropped the egg.
Thanks Lavonte, Freeman got the lead stupid penalty.
God almighty long season ahead.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Do not feel at all like I am overreacting by saying I looking forward to the 2014 Draft!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
WCBF,
Did Freeman play well enough to not be criticized?
Did Geno Smith outplay Freeman?
Tell me what is on your mind, WCBF?
Seriously, Freeman showed me he is D-O-N-E. Put a fork in his sh!t show.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Oh My! One game does not make a season, but if this is what is in store for 16 games, go ahead and make the change for Glennon now.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
@Patrick
PLAYOFFS????!!!! You kidding me?????!!!! PLAYOFFS???!!!! I just hope we can win a game!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
15 more games til Freeman is in Jacksonville, thank god
September 8th, 2013 at 4:33 pm
I hate freeman, put GLENNON in next week and tell freegirl to hit the streets.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
@Raphael
Josh won squat!!! me is mediocre at best!!! outplayed mentally by THE F**king JETS!!!!
Freeman should grown a pair and use it like a man, cause what an asshole
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
Look, the refs sucked, I agree!!! But if we just had a decent quarterback we would’ve won by 14 against this team!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
Not to be all “sour grapes”, since we should have had the game in hand well before it, but the replay showed that Smith wasn’t out of bounds yet when David pushed him… Please explain how that is uneccesary roughness.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
The freaking O-Line got DESTROYED today. I also did not like the insistence to run inside from Sully. They had it all clogged up and we just kept trying to jam it. I thought Free did an alright job considering every play he was under pressure. The D played well in my opinion. You just can’t win having 10+ penalties. And Donald Penn got OWNED all game. Also our TE’s were completely a non factor. But mostly. This just hurts. I wanted that W bad and we lost it in such a bad way.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
First blackout of the Bucs season coming next week. Like I said before, ” imagine if Geno Smith ends up having a better day than the “Franchise” ?!” In no way in hell did I think I’d be right……… Nah, I was just bullsh@ting and you know this man!! I can’t believe the one guy on the defense I REALLY like cost the team the game. Dumb move LaVonte, very stupid move.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
What game did you watch??? It was a hard fought game. The Jets came to play and especially on defense. I didn’t think Freeman played poorly. I didn’t like the play calling but when it mattered Freeman took the Bucs down the field and got us the lead JUST LIKE HE DID MANY TIMES LAST YEAR ONLY TO SEE THE DEFENSE JACK OFF THE LEAD WITH 38 FRIGGIN’ SECONDS TO GO!!!! Freeman’s fault?? You dumb shits!!!!!!!! That was the fault of Lavonte David and NOBODY ELSE. The time before that it was Leonard Johnson with a stupid hold. The Jets and Geno were better than people gave them credit for being. Penalties on us put points on the board for them and they all came on defense. I thought the ones on Goldson were ridiculous but they are what they are. To put this loss on Freeman is just pathetic.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
EVERY 2nd down we ran the ball! In the end we play called for 3 points instead of 7 points. And our “prepare us for everything” Coach didn’t prepare us for helmet communication problems. When this happened to us last year. Tampa fans will find a way to blame Josh for all of these problems, because Schiano couldn’t possibly be at fault for these things.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:34 pm
the Bucs lost the game, but I was disappointed by some of the penalties called on the Bucs. Is this still the NFL or are we playing flag football. Some of those penalties were not real penalties, except that the NFL lost some money to former players and are making this a sissy league.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
We just got embarrassed by the DJ, K2. Our defensive ends were piss poor with no pressure, Ogletree can suck rocks, our O-line was god awful and didn’t open up a hole for Martin all day and even the announcers said this game was the worst start of a game in NFL history. I haven’t felt this bad since we were down 42-0 at halftime against ATL two yrs ago… What a sad say for Buccaneer fans.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
When Freeman couldn’t hear the play over the headset, did it ever occur to him to call his own play? His football I.Q. is below average at best. Outplayed by a rookie again!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Like 5 bad throws by free (could not throw a screen?)
2 bad ref calls
Dumb move by LV combined with questionable call
Coaching was week and team was sloppy
And to top it off my wife the jets fan is all smiles
FML
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Ed,
Our QB has 57 starts, and got outplayed by a 2nd round pick in just his first.
We lost to the Jets! And we have Revis!
LOL Freeman is “god awful”.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Your first line is that Geno Smith outplayed Freeman???? YOU’VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. STOP WITH THE ANTI-FREEMAN NARRATIVE. He played as well as you could expect with zero run game and a horrendous offensive line…oh, and how about ogletree the drop machine. Bottom line – JOSH GOT US THE GAME WINNING FIELD GOAL. Schiano and his 3 man rush and lavonte’s brain fart lost the game.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Schiano has now put himself on the hot seat joining Freeman and Dom…. absoluely pathetic game
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
How many 3rd-and-9’s did we have? We literally got ZERO from the ground game then bash Freeman when he tries to convert several long third downs when a pretty good Jets defense KNOWS the pass is coming.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
I WANT TOES IN THE LINE BACK!!!!
WHAT WAS THAT???
I’M NOT BUYING ANOTHER TICKET UNTIL I SEE PROFESSIONALS EARNING THEIR MONEY!!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Mark Dominick = loser. Josh Freeman = loser. 15 more games until the losers are gone.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Prevent D prevents you from winning. David made mistake to give up field goal but Schiano should have stayed in his base defense. Bad Coaching if you ask me. David will bounce back stronger than ever. Defense was really good today. Freeman got better in the end but not much and O line sucked.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
The people blaming Freeman are just wrong. He was not deadly accurate but he played good. Hard to do much when you face 3rd and 8+ every drive.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Damn, defense choked again. Damn you Freeman lol
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
I’m upset about a lot of things in this game but the personal foul calls KILLED US! I love the way Goldson plays but if the league is going to flag EVERY HIT THAT MAKES A SOUND, then we wont stand a chance. The offense was pitiful, and exposed…..stop Martin and make Freeman beat you. Done. End of story.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
The entire staff needs to be fired. The worst exhibition of NFL football I’ve seen. Josh Freeman will be gone, others need to go as well. Just ugly.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
Josh Freeman played terrible. He had terrible protection much of the time, but continues to look lost and overwhelmed; the game at K-State was too big for him much of the time. No reason to have thought the NFL would turn out differently. Zero pocket presence- half the TD’s a guy like Tony Romo throws are after sidestepping a rush that would take down a guy like Freeman. He stands in there like Bledsoe and seems to drift into and not away from pressure. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. Couldnt win at a mediocre school consistently- cant win with a top tier $$$ offensive line, young stud RB, a slew of WR’s- writing is on the wall.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
When we play Tom Brady it’s going to be a nightmare he will have a Manning like game 7 Tds.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
HORRIBLE QBing PEOPLE..
Freeman is toast.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
Have no idea why anyone is the least bit surprised.
We’re not immensely talented.
We’re not well coached.
Our GM sucks.
The only issue is how long we are going to keep wasting our time with these losers.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:36 pm
I put this on horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, game planning and coaching. And I also think this team is just put together terribly as well. Hopefully this will be Dominik’s last year. We have two hard hitting safeties that can’t cover that well and are gonna get unsportmanlike conduct penalties all year.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
It’s time to call a piece of crap when you see it. The drunk gay blade is NOT an NFL QB.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
Smh! Don’t know what to say ! Josh wasn’t good as usual. Over throwing all day! Wish the Run game was better, almost non existent. Just sloppy play! Too many penalties.. No offense.. D looked great except the move by David
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
I simply cannot endure a full season with Freeman under Center. I’m sure everyone realizes that his interception and the safety (even though he used his soccer skills to save a TD) were brutal. What’s maddening are the 5 or 6 great throws he makes in between the 10 to 15 bad ones. I know this loss isn’t all on Freeman, but he continues to look lost for quarters at a time. The OL was crap today, across the board. Shameful. We have no identity on offense.
The D played hard today. I liked the intensity up front. the penalties killed us though.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
1. Freeman didn’t lose this game. He put us in a position to win. David lost us this game… It is forgiven because he is an excellent football player and probably won’t make that mistake again.
2. This was a good game from Freeman in that it would’ve been a horrible game from him. This is the medium that everyone wants. He overcame obstacles. Didn’t try to do too much and put us in a place to win.
3. Rex Ryan is a phenomonal DC people forget. I forgot too.. but we better not forget that he is one of the best if not the best in the league in coaching defense.
4. Reiterate point 3.
5. Geno Smith has the skills to be an excellent QB in this league. He played with a lot of poise today that wasn’t expected.
6. I think the Jets are a lot better than what everyone thinks if Smith plays with the poise he did today.
7. The early part of the game was horrible but I liked that we overcame obstacles.
8. Again, David cost us this game. There is no way around it. He doesn’t make that push. We win… but even Brooks made some dumb plays.
– I remember Brooks laying out Torry Holt after he was down years ago and costing us.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
Another loss for the Dominik regime. Just sad
September 8th, 2013 at 4:37 pm
How about Geno Smith! way to go! good job on NOT overthrowing your receivers.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
If You thought the 2 points would not come back to haunt us you have never watched our games. Stupid things like that ALWAYS due. We should have beaten this team to a pulp. so even had we won 17 to 15 it would have shown we could barely beat a bad team. God help us when real teams show up.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
Joe this game proved a lot of things about the Bucs, one Freeman must be dumb since he is a five year player and with no headset, could not call a play or figure out who to throw to when the first choice was covered like so many times during the game. The play calling was very bad, the execution was unbelievable, how can the center hike the ball and the QB be looking at his end? How called it?
Defense in David make a mistake on the last penalty but things happen, what I don’t understand is how was Winslo so open so many times and why the holding by Johnson?
Crabtree should be cut and Underwood resigned.
Next week Freeman should have to call all the plays and put him in the game to do the same, if he can’t do it to the game plan, get rid of him, if he blossoms, we will know he has to think all the time.
Some of offensive line is way over rated and we need new guys and a TE that can catch, I don’t believe Stocker caught one pass.
Your thoughts?
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
how about the playcalling? After seeing teams march down the field to win games in the final drive last year, why not go for the first down on 3rd and 3? Get the first down, kick a field goal and youre 1-0. Instead you play scared and dumb.
And where is this great offensive line we’ve been sold? It took catching the Jets on a blitz to have 1 decent run in 58 minutes. Good thing Rockstar GM addressed our TE needs.
And Vincent Jackson getting caught from behind hurts us once again.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
On the last penalty the player did not step out of bounds before he was pushed. What a ripoff.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
I am so sick to my stomach over this vomit-ugly game, I’m going to say that Josh looked below average (and I’ve been backing him), Ogletree gets paid more than I will ever make for not being able to catch a damn football! Goldson takes out 3 players with some beautiful hits that would be celebrated in years past, now he has to learn how to remove the violence from his play because the refs are going to call every de-cleating hit he makes (this is becoming a wussy league), and then Lavonte who chose to barely touch Geno, gets flagged because the refs are afraid of the NY mob mentality and chose to throw a flag that they know would change the game, BS call-I don’t care what anybody says!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:38 pm
The offense sucked!! Freeman’s over throws, Martin can’t get going, penalties, and the play calling on 3rd downs. Defense did alot better than last year, but Lavonte!!! Why!! Why!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
A win next week pulls us to the top spot so lets all calm down.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
Lavonte David made the dumbest move at that gave the game away. How did you not mention that? Despite all the other mistakes, that was the biggest, Smith was already walled out of bounds. WHY RISK THE CHANCE!!!!!!!! IDIOT!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
Look, the defense at least looked good today, with the exception of that stupid penalty on Lavonte David. The problem is Freeman.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
Where is Bucs 1987, with his positive Bucs will go 11-5 crap? HAHAHAHA!!!!Homers crack me up… Thank God 8 home games will be blacked out and I can watch competitive teams..
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
Geno’s QB rating = 80.6
Freeman’s = 67.9
And surprise, surprise! Kellen Winslow Jr! 7 rec, 79 yards, 1 TD
September 8th, 2013 at 4:39 pm
And why in the hell is Penn slamming things on the sideline whe his play is questionable at best?
September 8th, 2013 at 4:40 pm
We waited all off season for this. Like always,,,,Next year.
Freeman sucks and he can take the college coach with him when he leaves!!!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:40 pm
Freeman: 15/31, 67.9 Rating
Geno: 24/38, 80.6 rating.
What the hell is going on?
Ronde is “speechless” when asked about the Bucs loss at Jets today.
Ronde “The Bucs have a tough road ahead, they were expecting to win this gae. Not the start HC SChiano is was expeting, so we’ll see..
Freeman got outballed by Geno, admit it Freemanites!!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:40 pm
And speaking of personal fouls HOW THE F*** CAN A DUDE GERMAN SUPLEX SOMEONE AND NOT GET CALLED FOR A PERSONAL FOUL.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
Don’t blame freeman for this shitty game. He didn’t get to thrown as nearly as much as Smith I blame The Coordinator and Head Coach
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
We did everything we could do to lose….and did.
Our playcalling was absolutely awful…..constant running up the middle on 1st down….didn’t work at all.
Defense kept the game close….got a stop for us at the end….Lindell came through….
LJ broke up a 10 yd pass instead of just making the tackle….saving them time…bad play.
What can I say LVD….hope this motivates you…if you need any. Anybody can make one mistake…even a bad one….but the game shouldn’t have been that close.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
Miracle,
1,2,3,4, show Freeman the door!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
We may just have the worst offensive line in football. When your center is average and he is your best lineman, not a lot of hope. Ops -L-Tree needs to be sent on his way. He will just bring down morale. Coaching is a d+. a prevent defense which does not prevent anything. The start of the game and many times thereafter the offense looked like an Octopus Trying to make love to a Bagpipe. And again, freeman just does not have any sense of urgency. Its like he is playing high school ball. Maybe in another 5 years he will learn but it wont be with the Buc’s. Lastly ownership will not put up for this sloppy coaching. I’d say the writing in so the wall and its not that they did not win, it how they lost.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
Miracle,
1,2,3,4, show Freeman the door!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
Terrible.
Tampa should have beaten a rookie QB going away.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:41 pm
Lavonte is not the only one at fault. As a matter of fact it should have never come to that. The Bucs should have blown the Jets out of the water. The “best o-line” in the league and our “franchise” quarterback are to blame for this loss.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
Josh Freeman, didn’t win SHIT Raphael!! He got beat out by a ROOKIE!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
I am not saying Freeman deserves no criticism. It just needs to be in proportion to the playcalling, Doug Martin, offensive line, Ogletree.
Freeman didn’t put the game on his back to win but how many QB’s are successful with ZERO (and I mean ZERO) from the ground game? Plenty of blame to go around. The defense is not to blame AT ALL. The OFFENSE (including BUT NOT LIMITED to Freeman) lost this game. I also think people here are underestimating Rex Ryan’s defense. It has been consistently one of the best year in and year out. (Even without Revis.)
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
Sully’s playcalling was not great either. Weird screens that seemed doomed from the start- putting free in the gun with no back for protection when he was getting killed. Get into some splitback- and keep 8 in and have 3 running routes if you have to in order to protect him. Cater to your players- if you have a QB that can’t play without a perfect pocket, we should try to give him a perfect pocket!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
Players of the game: Koenen and Lindell
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
Miracle-
The only reason David lost us this game is b/c Freeman holds onto the ball too long, makes bad decisions, and didn’t get the job done before that last play of the game.
Freeman absolutely didn’t put us in a position to win, Vjax did single-handedly.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
There is no Mike Glennon Mob, only the Freemanite fools.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
16-0 now out the window.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:42 pm
Sloppy game – No doubt! That call on LVD was total BS [Smith was still in the field of play when he got pushed out] His actions were in the midst of the play! Ref robbery pisses me off more than anything!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
Game was rigged. Refs turned momentum at every necessary moment. Apparently the league is promoting some Rookie QBs every season. Especially if they play in a major market..
The Bucs were out coached on every level. We were sloppy and undisciplined.
Plus I have to listen to the Glennon Zombies, crying for that talentless and hopeless scrawny kid- who has looked like pure crap
Pathetic- I can make better use of my time. Next week, I’ll be on the boat.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
SteveK….you are a damn fool. You have absolutely no idea of how this game is played and I have lost respect for you as a poster and as a fan. To blame this on Freeman in any fashion is absolutely stupid and shows your lack of football knowledge. This is EXACTLY what happened last year. Freeman takes the team down the field and gets us the lead. This time the opposition has 80 yards to go and zero time outs and they win the game and YOU blame Freeman. What a complete moron. Personally I thought Freeman played pretty well with the play calling that Sullivan sent in. Plenty of dropped balls by receivers and very few poorly thrown balls by Freeman. The interception was the one exception but he was under pressure and the ball sailed on him. It happens.
Now let’s talk about the defense. Leonard Johnson gets a stupid holding penalty that kills a 3 and out and they go on to score. Goldson gets a couple of personal fouls (that I think were BS calls) but they cost us points.
Still you lay this at the feet of Freeman as if the Jets have zero defense. Freeman did what he had to do when he had to do it. He gave us the lead with 38 seconds left and the opposition goes 80 yards with zero time outs and scores. Yeah…Freeman’s fault. What an ass you are. You have zero cred with me as a fan or anyone with any football knowledge. YOu are just a biased idiot.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
The fk? WTF? thats all I got….too pissed to say much else
New Orleans…then New England :/
September 8th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
For once I m not going to bash Freeman and VJax was awesome. Joe was correct complaining about the lack of first team pre-season play. It showed and the penalties were killer.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
And why did we not pressure Geno Smith more often. When we rush 4 we get ZERO pressure. We decided not to get a top tier rusher because our 2nd rounder was finally going to pan out- wait- that didn’t happen yet. When we dropped 7 into a zone Geno Smith ate us alive the same way Brady did in the preseason. Give ANY QB that time in the NFL and they will beat you.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
Can we now stop with the “we can’t make the playoffs cause the NfC is too good”
We can’t make the playoffs cause we blow. Period.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
It looked to me like on the late pass & run to Jackson that S Landry could have blown the receiver up but held back, almost certainly because he was afraid of getting flagged. It was good for the Bucs, but a blight on the play of the NFL in general.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
Sorry but Freeman to blame. Crappy play calling only show they don’t believe in Freeman
September 8th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
REGARDLESS of the bullcrap at the end of the game this loss is squarely on the offense!
The defense gave them countless opportunities to score and doing it once at the end of the game after stalling over and over does not justify anything or provide anykind of excuse for them.
So take all your “well the offense scored on that last drive” arguments and shove them up your arse.
Just to reiterate this truth
September 8th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
THAT PENALTY ON DAVID IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!! HE’S A RUNNING QB IF THAT WERE A RB THERE WOULD BE NO CALL WITHOUT THAT FLAG WE WIN THAT GAME THAT IS HORSE SHIT I’M GONNA JUST PLAY FANTASY FOOTBALL FROM NOW ON AND QUIT BEING A FAN OF ANY ONE TEAM THIS IS BULLSHIT THAT CALL IS WRONG IM SICK OF ALL THESE RULES WE ARE PLAYING HARD NOSED FOOTBALL AND WE GET PENALIZED FOR IT THIS IS NOW THE PFL PUSSY FOOTBALL LEAGUE IF YOU HIT LIKE A MAN YOU GET FLAGGED DON’T PLAY THE GAME IF YOU DONT WANNA GET HIT
September 8th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
I’m feeling really sick to my stomach after this game. What a way to start off the season. Looks like we do have a shot a Clowney…..gotta look at the positive from such a horrible loss. Freeman has got to go!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
LVD make a crucial mistake at the most horrible time to make one. Despite that, the defense came to play. We held there offense in check all day. It was OUR offense that cost us that game. It should of never been that close, just like the philly game last year.
One good play from Freeman doesn’t erase the rest of the slop… I just dont understand how you can look off all the crappy play and think he did his job simply because he finally did something right..
September 8th, 2013 at 4:46 pm
What a joke! Not too many times have I seen one idiot, with one idiotic play, loose a football game. The Bucs fought back with all the nonsense and won the game. Until one idiot, playing like an idiot, decided to make an idiotic play. Thanks David, You singlehandedly cost us a win. What a joke!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:46 pm
Go ahead and get rid of Freeman because he is terrible, but we will still be stuck with this Down syndrome coach and his crappy Rutgers defense.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:47 pm
A game like this is the main reason I watch NFL Redzone. I can’t sit and watch an entire Buc game without wanting to throw something.
This will be a tough week. I have several Jets fans that work with me. I will need to grow several more layers of skin before tomorrow morning. Crap!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:47 pm
I have a silver platter in front of me. I want Freeman’s HEAD on it!
WITH condiments…
September 8th, 2013 at 4:47 pm
at the end of the day, when the Bucks needed a field goal to win the game, Freeman reads them down the field and does just that. We need the defense to come up with a stop, and they don’t, just like the beginning of last year.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
Freeman didnt look as bad as everyone is saying. Recievers (except vjax) and oline shouldve stepped up. And our defense wasn’t that great.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
15-31, 210 Yards 1 TD 1 INT and 3 Sacks (48.4 Completion Percentage) is totally disgraceful against a lousy Jets team. You may disparagingly call me part of the “Glennon Mob” but today I can proudly say I am one. We are squarely looking 0-3-0 in the face right now with Freeman starting and can anyone out there say we would be any worse than 0-3-0 with Glennon starting???? With Glennon starting he would be getting invaluable playing experience this year which would put him light years ahead of the curve next year. And I say again we are going no where with Freeman starting for us. MAKE THE CHANGE and BENCH FREEEMAN, hell even his teammates didn’t think he was a leader and took his captaincy away from him.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
How tired are we in Tampa of watching a subpar team?!! Do you realize that we’re turning into the Browns, Jaguars and Raiders of the NFL?! Where watching a crap team is EXPECTED year in and year out?! There is no “maybe next year” for this team anymore; I’m sick of hearing that. The pieces are in place. Win now or just be a bunch of losers. That was a sloppy, disgusting, sickening, crushing, embarrassing, inexcusable and yes, quite disgraceful loss to a subpar team. Yes, it’s one game, but we have a couple doozies coming up: vs. NO and at NE–yeah we’ll see how that goes. DISGRACEFUL.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
@SteveK & GenocideD .. You forgot to mention that the other reason why it was Freeman’s fault that David cost us this game.
Because he put us ahead with 30 seconds left to play in the game.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Shiano’s Suckaneers….served up by the navigator…wrong way Dominick.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Freeman must love his Freemanites who brush off anything he does wrong on anything and everything else. LoL,
September 8th, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Teddy or Tahj? That is the question. Put Glennon in and if he’s guy then great. If not and he’s terrible, than so what? Finishing 7-9 again gets us nowhere.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:50 pm
Freeman you incompetent a**!!! I want YOU to eat all this crow that will be served to me! Incompetent!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:50 pm
I’m disappointed… Obviously! But I remember when the 49ers were 1 player away from being a great team. We could be the next great team! I try to give Freeman the benefit of the doubt but sometimes I cringe at his inability to take this team to that next level. He missed passes that should have been made. Our defense played well with 1 exception and “Lavonte David” will learn from that one..
This one is on The QB play and inability to execute.. Freeman hasn’t progressed much after 5 yrs… I feel for Schiano as the decision to switch QBs will be painful for all of us!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:50 pm
Because he put us ahead with 30 seconds left to play in the game.
——————————–
yea and only sucked it up the other 55 minutes of the game. But hey dont like facts come between you and your man crush
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
I put this squarely on the coach. Team could not possibly have looked worse-prepared than it did. Terrible tactical decision- making:
1. Never punt on the opponent’s 39 with less than 5 yards for a first. Best you can hope for is about 35 yards net. You have to go for it.
2. Don’t kick it through the end zone when you’re kicking off from the 50. A pooch (likely to trap them inside 20) or onsides kick (even of it fails you’re only costing yourself about 20 yards vs the touchback) are the only way to go.
Also bad was running three times in Jets’ territory on the last drive. Get a first down there and you win the game. Drop a pass and they just keep one more timeout. It’s absolutely worth the gamble to pass for a first down and seal the game.
Only smart play all game was the draw to Martin on the last drive. Perfect timing because they don’t expect it, but click automatically stops with first down.
Ugh, stupid tactics really tick me off.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
I’ve been a Freeman supporter for years, he is NOT the one! The look of confusion if a play goes wrong, taking off helmet, putting it back on, unstrapping his chin strap, restrapping it, watch his body language. Still locking on 1 receiver, not running when he has an open field. He STILL can’t hit an open man! He is NOT a take charge QB…..
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
The “Keystone cops” type offensive series to start the game was an embarrassment, but they settled down and had the lead for most of the game; “Disciplinarian” Schiano should be called out for the ridiculous number, and bad timing of the penalties. That usually falls on the coach- undisciplined play. The o-line was lame, Freeman was hot and cold as usual, but mostly predictable as was the play calling. I was gonna be unhappy they only won by 2 against a lousy team…now I’m sick to my stomach…
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
WCBF,
Come on dude, how much more of this sh!tty QB play by Freeman do we need to see? Freeman is not a good QB, at least right now.
Freeman has the nest 2-3 games to show us something.
Geno flat out played him.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
David played his heart out and made a hustle play, we all know Geno could have easily cut that in and ran for more yards if LD didn’t get him out of bounds.
In the heat of the moment is it hard to tell what Geno was going to do.
Any fan that is seriously going to go after this kid who played so hard and gives so much heart for our team is no fan at all.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
Disgraceful is the right word for that game. Totally unprepared, sloppy, and undisciplined.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
offensive play calling was horrible. Almost every time we ran on first down. Far 2 predictable. That’s tha reason why Dougie had a bad game. We desperately, desperately, desperately need more reliable tight end and slot receivers. Freeman… is tha same player he was his rookie year. Forcing throws into triple coverage, poor at coverage recognition and audibling. His short to intermediate game leaves alot to be desired.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
I’ve been a fan since 1976 and this loss/meltdown ranks with the best of them. Terrible coaching and no discipline, intensity and/or smart play. This game was lost when Freeman threw the pick and singlehandedly brought the jets back into the game. Terrible play calling, stupid penalties and Freemen just being Freeman. Bucs are beyond sacrificing a chicken. We’re in Cleveland Brown limbo except they have a better defense. Great way to set the tone for the rest of the season. If we’re gonna lose and play listless, then bring in Glennon to get experience. Long season ahead Bucs fans.
Trust, belief & accountability, gimme a break! I just lost all respect fr Schiano.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:51 pm
arealbucsfan Says:
September 8th, 2013 at 4:48 pm
Freeman didnt look as bad as everyone is saying….
WHAT??????????
The guy is a 5 year pro! He was outplayed by a rookie numbnut that will be lucky to win 4 more games this season! You Freeman Apologists need to wake the **** UP!
The guy was completely lost out there for a major part of the game! How many overthrows did he have? 8? Yeah, he wasn’t that bad at all………..eyeroll!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
Embarrassed… 🙁
September 8th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
As bad as this game was going, one thing I can say is that Freeman did what he had to do for the comeback…The KUCKEHEADS ON DEFENSE HAVE F***ED US UP AGAIN!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
Pretty simple. Our o-line isn’t very good. Penn is extremely overrated. Martin was ineffective. For all the talk of “toys” for Freeman, he only has 2. Jackson and Williams. Nobody else did anything to help out. Play-calling was poor, but what more can you do when half your offense (run game) is shut down and you don’t have the weapons or time to throw consistently. Defense was solid except for the penalties. This is a total team breakdown. Freeman didn’t do enough, but neither did David, GMC, Clayborn, Martin, Schiano, Sullivan, etc. Anyone blaming this on Freeman should look at the other 52 that also didn’t do enough. Credit Geno for outplaying Freeman, or blame our D for letting him.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
15-31, 210 Yards 1 TD 1 INT and 3 Sacks (48.4 Completion Percentage) is totally disgraceful against a lousy Jets team. You may disparagingly call me part of the “Glennon Mob”
Welcome to our world. 4-12 with Glennon is better than 4-12 with FreeSUCKS
September 8th, 2013 at 4:52 pm
Gus says:
” A win next week pulls us to the top spot so lets all calm down.”
A win next week??!! Are you high , drunk , or just delusional ?! What in the sam hell makes you think that they’re going to beat the Saints?! They couldn’t beat the pathetic J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. The who dat Drew Brees posse is going to tap dance on their face.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:54 pm
Did we really expect anything different? They looked just like the same team that showed up unprepared during the preseason. They have an abysmal pass rush and Freeman keeps showing why this year he and his GM will be gone. That means Shiano goes as well.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:54 pm
Lavonte David aside, THIS LOSS WAS NOT ON THE DEFENSE!!!!
I JUST WANT ALL THE “FRO” SUPPORTERS TO STOP GIVING EXCUSES>>>
September 8th, 2013 at 4:54 pm
@SteveK Geno didn’t outplay him. Freeman didn’t outplay Geno either. They played pretty much the same.
Don’t forget that Geno had several sacks, an INT and a lost fumble.
Freeman had an INT.
The last time that Freeman touched the ball, we ended up being up.
Again, how did Geno outplay him?
Oh ya, because he used his special mind powers to force David into a stupid penalty.
Freeman sucks. He should have mind powers too.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:54 pm
Miracle,
Doug Martin ran us down there for a field goal.
Why couldn’t Freeman outplay Geno Smith in his 57th start? Geno Smith looked better prepared from the Big12, in his 1st NFL start.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
I don’t see these problems getting fixed by next week, and then a trip to New England!?!?!? Talk about having a LOT of work to do. Liked the hits the “D” dished out, but big hits do not win games. The last series the Bucs only rushed three, there was no pressure on Smith or even an extra DB to target Smith, after the guy had big runs when the jets needed them most. Complete frustration with what I saw today. Hopefully Schiano channels his inner Gruden and gets these boys in shape….QUICKLY!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
With free in the game, nothing is guaranteed. I understand the o line didn’t do that well, martin got started late, the refs called every tackle but when you get outplayed by geno, and all you can muster is 3points in the second half, no outcome other than losing. Geno rolls out, throes the ball away and scrambles. Why can’t our “veteran” qb do that? Weak. No excuse. Disgraceful.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
Anyone making excuses needs to stop. The Jets are not going to be very good, and when they play actual good teams (aka not the Bucs) we will all see that. Defense did everything it could. An offense with those weapons scores 21 points against any defense in this league. The Jets secondary is poor and Freeman did nothing to take advantage of it. They had 1 scoring drive (the fumble inside the 5 doesn’t count), and even that was a 45 yard drive. Just unforgiveable loss. I’m actually not surprised, just disappointed again that it appears 2010 was an anamoly for Freeman.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
DEFENSE LOST THIS GAME , 40 SECONDS LEFT AND THEY LET THE JETS DOWN THE FIELD! End of story. JOSH FREEMAN WAS MONEY
September 8th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
I agree if we are going to have a losing season, let’s have it with the rookie so we can get a better feel for what he is. We, now know what we have in Freeman. Its clear as day… except to the ones with there heads buried in his crotch.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:56 pm
I am so devastated … I won’t ever accept losing to the Jets… Ever…
September 8th, 2013 at 4:56 pm
Anybody defending Freeman is delusional and are not being real with themselves. Once u take away tha deep ball and blitz it’s lights out, bed time. He’s just not smart enough to be consistently successful at his position. It is what it is
September 8th, 2013 at 4:56 pm
Shut up Raph and keep suckin, Free doesn’t like it when you come up for air
September 8th, 2013 at 4:56 pm
And there is no doubt that this coaching staff is a joke. Imagine what Gruden would do with Glennon and these WR’s?
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
Just for you Raphael
”
REGARDLESS of the bullcrap at the end of the game this loss is squarely on the offense!
The defense gave them countless opportunities to score and doing it once at the end of the game after stalling over and over does not justify anything or provide anykind of excuse for them.
So take all your “well the offense scored on that last drive” arguments and shove them up your arse.”
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
Saints D looked good today too. Held Atlanta under 20. We might get shutout again.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
Boy and I GLAD I retired when I did!
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
may the mike glennon chants now start ? its needed
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
I haven’t read all these posts, but I hope none of you are blaming the defense! David’s penalty at the end, while devastating and probably lost the game, we wouldn’t have been in that position if it weren’t for Freeman & Schiano!
We’re staring 4-12 & possibly worse with this coaching staff & quarterback. I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Glennon starts as soon as next Sunday. Hey if we’re gonna lose consistently, let’s lose with a rookie that’s gaining experience, because it’s abundantly clear that Freeman will never amount to anything more than a backup.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
@Stevek .. Good point about Martin running down to that field goal.
I wonder who called that audible.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:58 pm
Couch your just an uninformed TROLL , That’s all .
September 8th, 2013 at 4:58 pm
If you blame that on Josh you know nothing about football. Bad play calling. Line can’t block and people dropping balls. And at the end free drives the feild and puts us up. If I’m Josh I don’t know if you wanna be a buc next year
September 8th, 2013 at 4:58 pm

Yiiiiih
September 8th, 2013 at 4:58 pm
I am so glad the Bucs showed me what they have for us this year. I am opting for the fair weather fan route because I am tired of watching terrible, undisciplined football. If they win 2 games in a row, I will consider watching, until then adios. And before you start criticizing me for this, understand that I’ve been a die hard fan since 1976, and I am just tired of the team. Tired of wasting time watching garbage. Tired of Freeman Getting tired of Shiano and starting to think that both are in over their heads.
And the new rules suck too, and that makes me less likely to watch any non- Bucs games this year.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
NY bucs fan. …….EXACTLY !!!! Ty
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Yea im so informed LMAO, I guess i was just imagining that horrible game by Freeman
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Geno got the “W”.
Freeman didn’t do enough to show us why he is the answer at QB.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Again, people keep calling this a “lousy” Jets team. The offense is “lousy”. Their defense has been top notch for years.
I knew this would happen. If Freeman doesn’t throw for 300 yards, 3 TD’s and 0 ints against a top five defense then he is the only reason we lose. It sucks that people who so obviously lack football knowledge are aloud to voice their opinion here. You can acknowledge Freeman had a bad game but stop making it seem as if he was the only reason we lost. We lost mostly because of penalties and the COMPLETE lack of anything even resembling a ground game. Freeman didn’t help but he is not the guy to put this team on his back and dominate games on his own.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
well, I guess it is too late to cancel my Rewind….at least I don’t have to burn an hour of my life watching the replay. Always look at the bright side.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Like I wanna know who Raphael is. No one defends Josh so passionately.
September 8th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Also, let us not give any props to a Jets team whom were one of the top defensive units in the league last year.. without Revis.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:00 pm
well guys expect another lost next week when the saints come to town our offense sucks run run run not enouh playmakers on offense we need a new coaching staff and GM.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:00 pm
Couch …horrible game ? He had is winning with 40 seconds left….your retarded. Get a clue about football.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:00 pm
Total team loss; when you settle for fuc**ng FGs you deserve to lose the game. God help them against Brees, Brady, Palmer, Vick, etc… Crap!
Go Bucs!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:01 pm
The penalty on david was really BS.
I mean I know we got flagged for those defenseless receiver hits and theres nothing you can do about those since the NFL is turning into the arena football league.
but to a call a penalty on a shove when he’s still inbounds….might as well play fucking touch football
September 8th, 2013 at 5:01 pm
I swear I remember the freemanites proclaiming they would be the first ones to call Freeman out for sloppy play….. Seems to me there word means nothing as All I keep hearing are excuses after excuses… Which reminds me that they also said all excuses stop now to
September 8th, 2013 at 5:01 pm
Offense loss as a whole, end of story.
VJ only glimmer of light.
This kinda thing is part of our Buccaneer curse, it’s part of being a Buc fan.
Nothing surprises me anymore
September 8th, 2013 at 5:01 pm
NY Bucs Fan,
How did Geno outplay Freeman?
If you can’t see that our QB, in his 57th start, was outplayed by a cat in his 1st NFL start, then YOU DON’T KNOW FOOTBALL.
MUTINY! We lost to the Jets!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:02 pm
Yes Horrible Raphael… you must of not seen it with Free’s jizz in your eye…
September 8th, 2013 at 5:02 pm
Freeman and Sullivan both SUCK!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:02 pm
why the Bucs lots
bad use of RB, only one RB
Bad Ref Calls, dumb call at the end of the game, sissy calls on good hits throughout the game, making the NFL look like a sissy league
Bad Play Calling
Bad time management
Freeman is inconsistent and makes bad decisions, I think he has talent, but lacks confidence to be a great NFL QB
The coaching staff laid a huge egg
September 8th, 2013 at 5:03 pm
David may have made the play that lost the game but I’m not worried about him. This is something that can easily be fixed. I am worried though about all the over-throws by Josh. He is inaccurate with his throws and is still staring down his receivers. The penalties can be fixed, the throws by the QB are a part of his skill set and will probably never be fixed.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:03 pm
Troy Aikman would have had a field day with his bashing analysis of josh freeman today. Freeman not once came off his first read and had tunnel vision all day.
The coaching staff came in unprepared with the radio debacle. Freeman looked rattled and uncomfortable and the oline is very bad and udisciplined.
Defensively , they put our offense in position for our only two tds. They were consistent all day. The freeman TO (lol) sparked te jets when Geno was rattled and playing terrible.
Geno Smith outperformed the great josh freeman today.
Kudos.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:03 pm
Raphael,
Why did it come down the last 40 seconds?
Why can’t our QB, in his 57th start, put away the Jets and their QB Geno Smith in his 1st career start?
Answer that?
Please, why is Freeman being outplayed by rookies.
Freeman sucks balls, and you just need to come to an understanding that he just isn’t good enough.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
We didn’t lose because of penalties. We lost because we had 8 drives of 3 and out and 2 more of 6 and out. The Jets defense is not good enough to hold the offense that we should have to 1 actual TD drive, and even that was 45 yards. Is anyone here prediciting anything better than 1-3 before the bye? The defense is gonna have be 02 again, scoring or setting up a score a week.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
I’m muscle for the Glennon Mob and I don’t blame Freeman. This is on the coaches, all the way. These guys were unprepared, undisciplined, and the play calling was amateurish. I thought Freeman was okay. I’d still like to ditch him, though.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
@ Raphael
How tha f u c k did tha defense lose tha game? Tha only money Freeman was is counterfeit. Rush Hour 2 type of money that turns red when u put it to tha real test.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
Raphael… they lost and Freeman sucks! Elite QB status? Not!!! Playing the same way he played during his collegiate career, like sh!t.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:06 pm
I’m burning my Freeman bobble head doll.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:06 pm
This is the type of loss that haunts a team all season.
When you combine this with such a horrible preseason…it’s safe to say we are looking at a really bad year.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:06 pm
That’s was horrible to watch…..this game comes down to Freeman’s fault for the safety and not paying attention…….he looked terrible…….very painful to watch this guy play…….two more games and I say bring in the rookie….anything will be better than to watch Freeman complain to his WR on every single play just like Winslow used to do……..Freeman sucks plain and simple
September 8th, 2013 at 5:06 pm
@bucrightoff
spot on. must say I haven’t felt this good about our defense since then. Oh tha memories
September 8th, 2013 at 5:07 pm
Just torched it and it looks a lot like Evil Free now.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:07 pm
In reading many of the comments I see Freeman has few Supporters here, as well as his own team not electing him as a Captain. If by the bye week we have 3-4 losses as a result of Freemans dismal performance, then it’s time for a change. I still recall that game last year against the Giants when we were trailing and Sullivan kept calling running plays. Even the T.V. commentators were asking WTF? The Jets game planned for Doug Martin, so why not throw at leat one pass deep? Just one to decrease the presence in the box. Unreal, it is going to be a long season.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:07 pm
I really just dont understand how in the world after the pathetic pedestrian defense we had last year, the first game this year the defense played better than it did all last year…. and some of you are still using the same tired excuse..
The D I saw on the field today was excited and I was pumped to see how they played and I cant wait to see more of it… The O was an entirely diff story
September 8th, 2013 at 5:07 pm
Poorly COACHED team. This one can’t be hung on Freeman. He was NOT outplayed by Smith. If anything, our defensive coordinator has no clue what to do at the end of a game. So tired of watching leads slip away at the end of a game. I have never spoken a bad word about Dominic or Shiano but the coaches lost the game for us. I think perhaps the Bucs need to adopt an old Lightning saying – “Safe is Death”.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:08 pm
Freeman is just not that good.
We should think about cutting bait.
LOL and some thought this joker should be extended.
Come on Freemanites, hide the bad play of our QB if you can.
Admit that Freeman was outplayed. Where you at Tony2Cents? Let’s hear your thoughts on the game..
Raphael- Freeman was outplayed by a rookie in his 1st start. Freeman has had 57 starts and can’t even outfox a rookie. A second round pick of a rookie QB as well.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:08 pm
“We lost because we had 8 drives of 3 and out and 2 more of 6 and out. The Jets defense is not good enough to hold the offense that we should have to 1 actual TD drive, and even that was 45 yards. ”
THIS CANNOT be argued. End of story.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:08 pm
Freeman WAS outplayed by Smith, JKTampa. Look at the stats.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:09 pm
Yeah…this team was going to turn it on after the preseason. I saw every preseason game on NFL Preseason and the NE game on TV. And frankly, it sounds like they played like they practiced. Kudo’s to Shiano and Dom for puttting together a “contender”.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:09 pm
we had no excuse to lose that game. we have a team that is stacked on both sides. we got a raw deal from the refs, but the first half was an embarassment. play calling sucked. o-line sucked. freeman sucked. martin sucked. drops everywhere. they looked hung over out there. at least it was close?
September 8th, 2013 at 5:10 pm
Freeman got outplayed by a rookie and the Jets. Admit it Freemanites, admit it!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:11 pm
Freeman didn’t dominate a top five defense with no ground game, offensive line, or playcalling.
The Geno vs Freeman stat line is just stupid. Freeman doesn’t play against Geno, he plays against the Jets top five defense. While Geno had the luxury of going against last years worst pass defense.
So you have to types of people in here. The people who don’t hate one single player on this team no matter what that recognize a poor effort by the TEAM. Then you have the morons that think we are defending Freeman and think he should have overcome the lack of: playcalling, blocking, ground game and dropped passes to lead us to victory over a top five defense. SMDH
September 8th, 2013 at 5:11 pm
I’m going to try and be done with all things tampa for a couple days till my heart heals, I am tired of this shiit.
Waiting all year for this, than again it seems to always play out this way.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:11 pm
Josh Freeman totally sucks. We can not win (even against the Jets) with such a loser at QB. Excuse after excuse after excuse for this turd. I know, I know, Buc1987 and Raphael will make more excuses for this waste of a draft pick but we never will win with this turd as QB. JEEZ, give us Geno Smith! Just get rid of Freeman NOW!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:13 pm
Look, I think this team is going to come together and be a straight up scary team to play DOWN THE ROAD, I think early on the Bucs are just going to go through these growing pains, but I believe it’s going to come at a time that will be too late. This game was a horrible game, Gino Smith is NOT a good QB, he’s NOT, and we let him improvise like a seasoned veteran, how many times did we have him dead to rights, and he either lofted it down the seam or threw a lob over a defender into the hands of a wide open rb….I’m starting to think that preseason could’ve been used to refine our existing players, rather than those who would be considered for depth. Our offensive line has to get their crap together, I think they’ve been reading the preseason prognosticators, and quite frankly, they looked horrible! I seen Davin Joseph go soft on LB’s!! I seen Donald Penn give up on an end rush, like he just didn’t want it, I KNOW Freeman HAS to improve, but he NEVER will if he has no confidence in that offensive line, that’s why I say the first half Bucs are going to disappoint a bunch of people, by the time they get it together, and they will, it’s just going to be too late…..this can be a very painful team to watch this year, but they have some really good talent to put it together….it just might be Nov or December when they finally wake up!!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:13 pm
A thread with almost 300 comments, and none from Buc1987. Call the Sunshine Skyway bridge alert, stat!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:13 pm
Expect to see a lot of blackouts this season until Glennon takes the control of the helm.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:14 pm
VJax (my favorite player) gets run down by a LB and they settle for a FG with 34 secs left after three straight runs. Schiano & Co. got out coached by Rex Ryan and Marty f**king Mornigwhogivesaf*ck! They deserved to lose this game.
Coaches arguing, Penn throwing sh*t on the sidelines after getting in VJax’ face…
Very sloppy, disappointing and borderline embarrassing performance all around.
This team better figure out something quick with Brees, Brady, Palmer, Vick, Ryan………. You get the picture.
Go Bucs!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:15 pm
Why is nobody blaming this loss on Zuttah for snapping the ball when Free wasn’t ready that lead to the safety? Those 2 points would have forced the Jets to go for a td instead of a fg… It’s all Zuttah’s fault!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:15 pm
Schiano and his stupid prevent defense rushing 3 guys at the end was a total joke. Even if David doesn’t get the penalty, Folk would have probably kicked a 63 yarder to win it. He couldn’t get any pressure all game with his 4 man rush but refused to blitz more often. Sullivan’s play calling was as predictable as the freaking Gators play calling. But I understand now, they both have horrible throwing QBs. Going to be a long season for both!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:16 pm
It started with the fact that no one had the jewels to tell the Glazer’s that giving Rah the HC job was the wrong thing to do. Wasted years. And we still have the guy calling the shots at the helm overseeing this team. Time for the rock star to get back with the band and leave football to the proven professionals.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:16 pm
Coaching.
see first drive.
see offensive playcalling.
see penalties.
Yes, if JF5 three for 100 more yds, we wouldve won. Same logic can be applied to Dougie rushing for more or O-line handling the blitz. If we did a little better in any of those, we’d probably win. I put this one Sully and Schiano. And the fact that we are a work in progress.
Go Bucs….
September 8th, 2013 at 5:17 pm
Fu(k freeman and 3 man rushes at the end of games. Oh and fu(k stupid play calling on both sides.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:17 pm
I can’t believe how much it feels like the season is over after one god damn loss, but it does. There’s a better chance of everyone in Pinellas county winning the Powerball on one night than of the Bucs winning our next two games with this GARBAGE product we put on the field.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:18 pm
Freeman lacks heart.

September 8th, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Did Bowers play today? I thought he was supposed to “Step UP” and replace Michael Bennett. This is the guy Schiano Believes in? Maybe Schiano should have his player evaluation abilities checked and Sullivan should spend Monday explaining to someone in the organization why he called the plays that he called for each and every play. I felt like I was watching the Giants game from last year all over again. If you run the ball 30 times gaining 31 yards reason and logic would lead you to forget the run and THROW IT.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Out coached, any NFL coach with this much talent would play to their QB strengths, if a play works like rolling Josh out in the first half, it might work again IF YOU TRY IT AGAIN. No FB, no TE, no OL was heard from today, lack of preparation. U can blame Josh, LVD or the penalties, bottom line we have a conservative stubborn college coach and a GM that can’t find depth when a player goes down.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:26 pm
And a D Coordinator who thinks you are supposed to stunt and leave outside lanes open for a QB who can run ever time the team is in a passing situation.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:27 pm
What we saw was the offense can’t drive down field on a bad team and score. Martin went where he did in preseason. Nowhere. The only scores came when the defense put us in scoring position. The final drive they were trying to stop us from getting into field goal position so it was not the same D as they ran all game. Look at it for what it was. If not for the defense putting our offense in some Jets side of the field position, we most likely score 0.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:28 pm
^^ At least someone gets it. I am starting to doubt the abilities of this coaching staff.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:28 pm
This came down to Freeman not knowing the offense and the Very bad play calling.
Everybody says the defense was good but I dont see how, we let the Jets score. They should have been shutout.
Ive been a Freeman supporter since day one but that is over with.He sucks
September 8th, 2013 at 5:29 pm
Oh $#*t it’s going to be a looong season!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:29 pm
I’m not going to argue with you, Jerry. People are going to see this game the way they want to see it. If you can watch that game, the conservative way it was called on offense, the lack of discipline on both sides of the ball, the lack of preparedness that really comes from a lack of live football (preseason), the dropped passes that were right on the money then you truly don’t know football. Blame Freeman if that makes you feel better, but when you have 13 penalties for 102 yards, and you are constantly running 3rd and long you can’t succeed. Freeman will follow the path of other Bucs quarterbacks that were run out of town only to take their team to a Superbowl victory. I hope I’m wrong, but Freeman is in an impossible situation and if I were him, I wouldn’t sign a new contract in Tampa. He needs a fresh start.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:29 pm
We need a G.M, head coach, def cord and a off cord. if you do not have a fullback why do you run the ball on first down, think outside the box. how about the play of the tight end. Please get us a GENERAL MANAGER and a head coach that has nfl experience.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:30 pm
I have watched NFL RedZone all day and did not see a quarterback as bad as Freeman. What the hell is this coaching staff thinking?
September 8th, 2013 at 5:30 pm
Wait till they play a real team. This could ugly. Much room for improvement throughout team and staff.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:30 pm
Oviedo…what makes you think these guys know talent? Jackson or Revis…easy…even I could see those guys had talent. But said it years ago….Dom may be a good cap man, but forget the Personnel side….Dom…the blues brothers are calling…they are getting the band back together and need there Rock Star. Good luck elsewhere.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:31 pm
Freeman has never had a head coach with any kind of nfl experience.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:32 pm
This years “plan” looks a lot like last years “plan”. Freemagene plays poorly for 3 quarters. The defense wears themselves out with all the 3 and outs from the offense while managing to keep the game close. Then Freeman leads team down the field only to manage a field goal. Thus putting the defense on the field again to save the win. If Davids one bad play is the reason they lost. What about the dozen aweful plays Freeman made in the game. You can’t have it both ways.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
joe
it’s kind of stupid to say freeman got outplayed by geno smith. That lose once again was lost because of coaching….freeman had a bad game but vjack was a monster. hmmm i guess he was throwing the ball to himself and running after the catch, all that time with phillip rivers but he comes to a team where the qb supposedly “sucks” and has the best year of his career…people focus on freeman because he’s on the field but these guys get a week to study their opponent and game planning wins games….
THE WORST PART IS JETS HAVE BEEN RUNNING THIS DEFENSE SINCE LIKE 2009…HEY SCHIANO IT HASNT CHANGED VERY MUCH, 3 WEEKS TO PREPARE AND THATS WHAT YOU ROLL OUT FOR THE SEASON? SORRY FOR YOU GUYS WHO PAYED TO SIT THROUGH THAT AWFUL PRESEASON WHICH WAS A SIGN OF OUR SEASON LIKE JOE AND THE MEDIA THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. GOTTA ADMIT I WAS WRONG
September 8th, 2013 at 5:35 pm
Haha @lightnin….
He’s probably as heart broken or more than us….and just shaking his head, like me….im stil SMDH!
The he!!? Schiano? Dont get me wrong, Josh was sucking, but he came along and made some throws that were catchable, but Ogletree jit the bed….and our O line just flat out sucked….yes LVD made a mistake ( I still call BS on that flag) but man, the O lost this one…play calls especially!!!
Again, WTF Schiano?
September 8th, 2013 at 5:36 pm
MTM, Agree 100%
September 8th, 2013 at 5:37 pm
It’s over…lets move on. The defense is impressive and will only get better. Offense will get better.
Schiano needs to see that lack of preseason play hurt this team. But it’s a tough call to decide the balance between being ready and risking injury.
Reasons it’ll be better…
1-it’s only week 1…every team in NFC south lost except Saints….we play me next.
2- Jackson is primed for a huge year. Will open more stuff up.
3-Crabtree will provide tight end option
4- lorig will provide better blocking for Martin
5-return of Nicks…..see no.4
6-first time in many years, the D line looks dominating.
Concerns for rest of season….Ogletree needs to go…this is a trend..he can’t catch.
Freeman looked shaky, but did his job in the end. But he needs to play better.
Bad timing on penalties. Both sides of the ball.
Doug Martin….boy I hope it’s a crazy game instead of a trend.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:37 pm
Just watched the slowmo replay on dvr. When david made contact with geno, his foot had not landed out of bounds. Jets had some ref help on that one. Still the coaching in this game was horrible. Never adjusted to the middle not being open to the run. Coaching so bad, freemans average play is irrelevant. The starters in this game were not ready to play. On a bright note, Revis looks good.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:38 pm
That’s a good ? How do you let geno out play you we were up with 38 seconds left in the game period. We have a lot of problems some big problems. Our o line not very good. Play calling was a big problem.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:38 pm
If David didn’t make that stupid penalty, we win. However this game shouldn’t have been close. I hang this one on the offense and the play calling. They looked very out of sync.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:39 pm
It’s the coaches fault when all through preseason and the first game of the season that you let teams go on long scoring drives…idiot schiano just made geno smith look like this years next RG3 go back to rutgers schiano, your the same coach you were last year, your too damn stubborn to evolve and be flexible you jackass
September 8th, 2013 at 5:41 pm
BUC1987, Were r u at BITCH!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:46 pm
freeman looked bad? really lol its the coaches fault when the entire team looks unprepared. the o line regressed, sullivans play calling regressed, but bill sheridan he is right on schedule to produce the same pathetic play calling from last year. damn excuses and injuries is a part of football, no one shores up all 22 positions and the backups behind them, thats just unrealistic thats why we have coaches to make the players you have better and they’ve fallen short….
theres no one person on this site that can say they would start lj over banks. you have brian leonard at running back then all of a sudden try to put him at fullback then do even bother to give him carries…..lol he’s the more detailed version of raheem morris so basically Schiano’s got a detailed plan on how to get fired in the NFL
September 8th, 2013 at 5:47 pm
all this back and forth reminds me of this scene:

September 8th, 2013 at 5:48 pm
God awful performance by a Bucs team that won’t win a game playing like that.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:49 pm
Buc1987? Are you OK? I may not particularly care for you, but it’s just a game. Don’t jump!
September 8th, 2013 at 5:53 pm
At the end of the day this ultimately falls on the shoulders of ownership. They hired both Dominick and Schiano.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:55 pm
Yep MTM, yep.
Id put more of this on Schiano than Dom….but its not too late for Dom to take care of business and give Mike Zimmer a call 😉
September 8th, 2013 at 5:56 pm
how does the helmet malfunction???? how???? the next it happens, fire the guy whose job it is to inspect it.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:59 pm
Well, I just didn’t see a BAD Jets team. I know that’s what everybody THOUGHT they were going to see but the Jets showed up at home.
Things we did wrong
#1. Play calling just sucked. Why go after yardage in large chunks? I liked the little flare outs for 6-7 yards and the slants. We ran too many times instead of using the play action. Our receivers got very little separation other than Jackson.
#2. Why not roll Freeman out more often? We did it once with success and then after that it was abandoned.
#3. Yes, our play was messy at times but my guess is that most teams had sloppy play the first game of the year. I just don’t like it because it was us and it cost us all game long.
I’m betting that when the people who play this game afor living comment tomorrow they are not going to be blaming Freeman as much as they blame the play calling and the soppy blocking by the O-line. Could Freeman have played better? Obviously but with the field position he was given most of the game he managed the game pretty well. When he had the opportunity to win the game he did exactly what clutch QB’s do…he put us in position to win. It’s a shame we didn’t win but to think that the Jets team was horrible is ridiculous. They played a pretty solid game and we gave them a gift at the end. All the band wagon fans want the wins to be pretty and most of them aren’t. I would have taken a win with ugly play any day and we should have had it. Once again the Freeman haters overlook the fact that the opposing team went 80 yards with zero time outs and 38 seconds left on the clock and blame the loss on the offense. I know that none of you who think that way ever played football. If you ever played the game you would realize that the goal is not to look pretty, it’s to just get the job done, however you can.
I laugh because you say “Jackson was awesome today” as if he threw the ball and then caught it himself. LOL!
Oh well….it is what it is. I hated the way we lost but I’m certainly not ready to declare the season lost. It was one game and the Jets were better than you thought and that includes Geno Smith.
September 8th, 2013 at 5:59 pm
ownership knows business not football, they did what they were supposed to do and opened the checkbook for dominic, he should be fired for this schiano hire alone. all the coaches he interviewed he someone believed that this college head coach was the best option
September 8th, 2013 at 6:15 pm
“Toes on the line, Someone please send us a head coach and send the coaches back to college. Help, coach lovie Smith please come to Tampa and bring a G.M. with you.
September 8th, 2013 at 6:24 pm
Rex Ryan’s brother comes to town next week and will undoubtably stuff the DLine to take away Martin and force Free to win a game. Highly doubtful Free will rise to the occasion. Today was a “must win” for Bucs. Next week is “must-must” win. New England is an unwinable game. ATM 0-3 with Freeman completing 50% of his throws, what will Shiano do. The proverbial “hot seat” will be close to boiling after New England. This team is built to win now, not for the future.
September 8th, 2013 at 6:33 pm
Can someone explain how Geno’s pass to his feet at the end of the first quarter was not intentional grounding? Why is a hit to the head illegal, but slamming a return man on his head is not?
September 8th, 2013 at 6:37 pm
The team looks terrible. They suck and are poorly coached.
But really, I’m starting to loose interest in The NFL.
Kickoffs are mostly a thing of the past. You can’t hit anybody. It’s nothing but a flag feast, and the refs are determining the games.
Just like the disgusting NBA- games are tilted to favor “superstars”. It’s basically fixed.
And now the won’t let my wife and daughter in the stadiums with anything but a hand sized purse, and a clear plastic bag!!!! Whatever Ape thought up that rule, has never been with or around women!
And why? Are American women blowing up buildings? No, they aren’t. If they are really trying to make it safe- they should ban Muslim extremist!
After today’s amateur hour- I’ve decided if rather be on the Boat.
I’ll start watching the Bucs again- when they are worth watching
September 8th, 2013 at 7:00 pm
Next week when they lose to the Saints and Free Free gets out played again by another quarterback, I’m sure there will more excuses. For example, well what do you expect that’s Drew Brees, he’s a Super Bowl MVP and you can’t expect Josh to play better then him. Here’s another one, well you know they got Sean Payton back and he’s a better coach than Schiano. BLAH BLAH BLAH, I’m SICK and TIRED of the fucking excuses. I don’t want excuses, I WANT RESULTS!!!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 7:06 pm
Next week when they lose to the Saints and Free Free is outplayed again by another quarterback. I’m sure we’ll hear more excuses from all the apologist. Something like this……well what do you expect Drew Brees is a Super Bowl MVP, or well they got Sean Payton back and he’s a much better coach than Schiano. BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! I’m SICK and TIRED of sorry ass excuses!
September 8th, 2013 at 7:11 pm
I will be pissed off about this loss for weeks–EVEN if we pull a miracle out of our asses next week against New Orleans!! I have been a fan of this team for 25 years and this easily ranks up there with one of the most despicable losses I have ever seen. Worse than the last play debacles vs. PHI and WAS last year. It’s time to win the close games, not tank against GENO FUCKING SMITH!!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 7:11 pm
Really Freemen did you see the O-Line get their azz kicked and Teo you talk about Bowers Teo suck azz did he ever get off the line Greg stop playing these games and put your best players out there. Why did we Olgatree hey was garbage at Dallas now you trying to sale him to us as our 3 wideout and we did not address the tight end position our TE are a joke Mark or quote Rock Star GM get a freakin clue!
September 8th, 2013 at 7:15 pm

Why are you all behaving like baffoons! Experts said this is a bad team and today showed that.
Calm down and get a beer and go watch good teams.
This is a bad team with good players and hopefully the staff corrects this.
September 8th, 2013 at 7:28 pm
@Capt.Tim, the libs are slowly taking away our last bastion of American Culture….Football 🙁 makes me sad.
September 8th, 2013 at 7:30 pm
If this team needs a new QB- and it probably does!- Glennon will never be the answer.
Meybe Raheem can convince Bruce Allen that Freeman would be a better backup than Kirk Cousins.
Unlike the scarecrow- Cousins will be a very good NFL QB
Other than that faint hope- it’s loserville until we find a QB. Might as well let Glennon stink up the joint. At least it will silence all these clueless fools.
September 8th, 2013 at 7:47 pm
Jets 5-11 at best
September 8th, 2013 at 7:52 pm
Jets are really bad and they lucked into beating a bad team.
Freeman is bad and so is the pass rush and so are the preparation for this team.
September 8th, 2013 at 7:59 pm
I will say this if Freeman does not last, Glennon is NOT the answer. For not a stupid play we win the first game today. BUT….if Freeman does not last, I would seek a read option QB to create a high scoring offense next season. That would drastically change our teams future.
September 8th, 2013 at 8:00 pm
@Architek
Watch other teams?! I have zero interest in other teams–I am a Bucs fan. ARE YOU?!!!
September 8th, 2013 at 8:06 pm
“The Bucs were outcoached today”
Thank you Joe. Honestly, after reading and participating a little bit on the live feed on JoeBucsFan.com everyone was (predictably) piling on Josh Freeman yet what **I** saw today was coaching blunder after coaching blunder. Did the Bucs have so many penalties under the Raheem Morris regime? The way this game was managed it’s my opinion the weakness of this team is the coaching. The way this team has been prepared (or lack of it) is because of the coaching staff. Clearly Schiano did not use the pre-season in a way that would have helped his team on the field.

Raheem should convince Bruce Allen to trade Kirk Cousins down here and send Freeman up to DC. Cousins looked good when filling in for RGIII.

Cut freeman – sign Tebow. At least then the Bucs have a quarterback with some heart.
