“His Head Is Full Of Mush”
September 19th, 2013Tampa Tribune humorist Martin Fennelly and Patrick Welter of TBO.com discuss the Bucs’ current situation and, of course, franchise quarterback Josh Freeman in this TBO.com video. In particular, topic of discussion is trying to solve the riddle that is Josh Freeman.

The game plan so far this year has been so conservative that who knows what this offense can really do. In this day and age you just cannot run, run, pass or for that matter I’ve seen run, run, run…..If you’re only going to pass on 3rd down then that just increases pressure on the QB. The offense needs to be in attack mode like the D. Conservative play call is only stalling things causing breakdowns in communication and penalties.

Sorry JBF fans, I’ll keep pointing this out:
We ran 17 rush plays on 1st downs/ we ran just 5! passing plays on 1st down.
We replaced Dallas Clark and Tiquan Underwood, who accounted for almost 900 of Freemans 4000 yds passing and gave him an outlet, and made the defenses respect the middle of the field.
We replaced them with Crabtree/Tim Wright, who have yet to catch a ball, and replaced Underwood with Ogletree who looks like the second coming of Michael Clayton.
* Predictable Play Calling, defenses know whats coming on early downs
* No outlet recievers in the slot, so now Williams and Jackson are blanketed by safeties
* Freeman isnt headstrong enough not to let these things get to him.
BUT! Theres still 14 games left! And the NFL, the national media are trying to break us apart, which could be a blessing in disguise and bring this team together. Lets go and hit up some patriot knees and ankles! Go Bucs!!

So……the only issue you list for Freeman is that he isn’t able to ignore all the other failures around him?
Fascinating. Utterly.

If his head is full of mush, he should go to Harvard Law (sorry, dinosaur movie reference–couldn’t resist).

The Ryan Tannehill led, 2-0 Dolphins has Brandon Gibson in the slot, and Charles Clay at tight end. Not exactly the most talented guys around, wouldn’t you agree? I would also take Freeman’s #1 and #2 and RB over Tannehill’s
You can harp all day and night about the slot and TE, but the reality no QB in the league has the perfect set of weapons. Freeman does less with more, over and over.

Hey Joe, please try to stay away from posting anything that clown Finnely of TBO is whining about. To be honest I haven’t seen the video but I and so many true Bucs fans have read his nonsense crap for years especially during Morris era. Now Roy or hall of fame voter Ira, share their views anyday. Go Bucs and go the hell away Finnley!!
