Freeman Looking For A Successful “Transfer”

September 19th, 2013

There is great news out of One Buc Palace. The Bucs had a fantastic week of practice to date, so said numerous players. Even commander Greg Schiano said the Bucs have put the Saints game behind them and have shown up with their lunch pails.

But most important, Josh Freeman says the offense has been feeling the vibe and is at its 2013 peak.

“This has been the sharpest that we’ve been in practice, so I look forward to seeing us transfer that to the game on Sunday,” Freeman said, via TBO.com.

Ok. So maybe, just maybe, the Bucs offense needed the first two games to wake up after being allowed to snooze through preseason. Davin Joseph and Darrelle Revis finally have their legs under them. Doug Martin is in a groove. Carl Nicks and Tom Crabtree might be back. Kevin Ogletree can only get better.

There is hope for Sunday.

I think we have a chance, hopefully their receivers have more drops than they did last week. The only thing that concerns me is Leonard Johnson. Our corner opposite of Revis is the weakest link.

Finally, what sounds like a glimmer of hope in Joe’s voice. A welcoming, and contrasting difference to all the doom, and gloom, Joe, has done his fair share to antagonize, up to this point..

Reading this headline, I immediately thought the “transfer” referred to him requesting a trade…just goes to show how pessimistic I’ve become as of late.

I first thought “transfer” was referring to Freeman requesting a trade….just goes to show you how pessimistic I’ve become as of late.

Joe only tells us what others are saying. The doom and gloom come from elsewhere and from commenters.

  6. SteveK (MGM) Says:

This is great news, I hope we can put up 34 points, I think it will take that much to win.

Holding Drew Brees down like that is one thing, getting to Brady is another.

A lot of great story lines:

    Talib vs. Freeman

    Schiano vs Mentor

    Blount vs our D

Whoever gets the most sacks will win.

  7. Eric Says:

Uh oh back to the great practices.

I thought we had those all training camp. Free was sharper than ever, glowing reports on his new grasp of the offense, blah blah blah.

Has anybody ever said “man we sucked at practice” leading up to a game?

Of course that could mean our defense is gonna get roasted, if our offense is looking good againt them.

    Whoops.

  8. bucfanjeff Says:

If so, seems like the transfer should have happened from preseason to regular. Maybe Schiano learns his lesson.

  9. SteveK (MGM) Says:

We had 5 sacks week 1, 4 last week.

What are the chances we get 3+ this week?

Give us a “sack-fu” this week, and if Freeman can avoid having one, then we have a good chance.

I hope Freeman comes out throws for 350+ 3TDs, and we win. It might take that kind of an effort from an opposing QB going against Brady’s Patriots at Foxboro. Good thing this game isn’t in winter.

  10. Couch Fan Says:

    I hope so.

  11. Bobby Says:

I don’t think it’s gonna take a herculean effort on offense. We just need 24 points and we win this game. I think we hold the Pats to 20 or under. I said at the beginning of the season that if the offense averages what they did last year (24 pts a game) we win at least 10 games because that’s how good our defense would be. So far the offense hasn’t shown up. Let’s hope this is the week.

  12. Buc1987 Says:

This team owes us after last week. I’m still waiting to exhale.

  13. bucrightoff Says:

Its the offense that owes the defense a great game for its two weeks of ineptitude. If Carl is back then they better be pounding that rock a lot.

  14. GRIF4FREESUX Says:

    Great Practices,WAIT!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA……..HAHAHAHAHAHA……. You’ve got to be fu#@ing kidding me right????HAHAHAHAHA….LOL…HAHAHAHAHAHA……

  15. Rahb Says:

Whoa…….Positive Comments sliding outta Freeman’s Mouth?!?!?!

Did somebody finally shake him and slap him across the cheek and WAKE HIM UP THAT THE SEASON STARTED AND HIS CAREER IS ON THE LINE????

I Like it – HELL, I think I might Pick Free up in my Fantasy League as a Show of Confidence not Just in Freeman, but this Entire Bucs Team.

    GO GET EM BUCS!

  16. Free's A Boob Says:

    Joe,

Didn’t you say Free was Breeslike in July practice? Or was it Bradylike?

  17. Chris Says:

Offenses can be very streaky and ours is certainly that way. I could easily see this week with the Bucs having an offensive coming out party. Remember in the camp/scrimmage in August, VJax dominated all Pats DBs and according to Boston beat writers was the best guy on the field. We can win this game.

  18. TrueBuc Says:

Somethings in the air Bucs Fans! I feel a turnaround coming!

Goldson, show the league that you can still send WRs to the locker room when you hit em in the strike zone!

AC, this time, when you get to Brady, make sure he stays down! He’s Adolf Hitler as far as your concerned, and he talked about your momma! Knock him the F out!

We still have 14 games to right this ship!! I still believe! Go Bucs!

  19. Pewter Power Says:

If Brady has time to set up it will be a long day for sure (duhhh!). Perhaps Bowers (is he still on this team?) will show up for once and help out. Going 0-3 will be dreadful, depression will set in for sure, what a shame that will be especially with the season being so fresh, uggg!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  20. blackmagic00 Says:

    I love my BUCS!!!

  21. Buc1987 Says:

Bam! Eagles 1-2 never say die Bucs.

  22. Deminion Says:

Come team we need a W bad!!!

  23. clafollett Says:

    Right on TruBuc!

    GO BUCS!

  24. Seattle Bucs Fan Says:

I am somehow wishing Jon Gruden was still the head coach for us.

  25. MadMax Says:

Im only watching for the D, Martin, and the O line…..gave up on free already.

Especially the D…presents all around for the secondary (Im gonna be pissed if we dont get at least two on missed assignments from NE’s receivers)

  26. Chris Says:

Sorry josh. Practice doesn’t involve getting hit Nymore. See what the pats did go Geno smith. See the same thing. Geno is a rookie. Josh plays like one.

  27. Chris Says:

I wish we traded for Alex smith. We’d be 2-0 right now.
