Tanard Jackson Hopeful For Another Chance
August 29th, 2013Drugs have destroyed Tanard Jackson’s career, but the former Bucs safety is still grinding away trying to earn one last shot — one last payday.
After the New Schiano Order cut Jackson in April 2012, he joined Raheem Morris and the Redskins and won a starting job, only to get suspended again last August by the NFL. Jackson is eligible to return this week, and he’s hopeful to get another chance with the Skins.
Below is an excerpt of Jackson’s recent sit-down with CSN Washington, where he talks about his struggles and maturity and working with youth. Joe hopes T-Jax has gotten serious help. At 28 years old, he’s surely on his last shot.

Everyone deserves a 2nd chance…..but a third, fourth….all I know is that its no longer our problem.
TJax has a world of talent and saw his best days as a Buc….

Such a shame someone with so much talent just chooses to waste it away by taking drugs.

And I agree with TBBF, These guys get paid millions and get chance after chance after chance. It’s sickening.

Sadly, there are guys that go undrafted each year that never get the chances a guy like Jackson got. Teams probably missed out on some good talent along the way.
I’ll never understand such foolish behavior. I hope he doesn’t get another chance because that means someone more deserving will get an opportunity.

@ Couch
There are too many football players with great characters that will be cut this week & will never realize their dreams.
TJax’s 4th chance will keep one of them from the NFL
When you look at it that way, its really hard to justify.

If chance = blunt, I agree

Agreed and after watching the video. I wouldn’t want the guy on my team. he doesnt even seem believable anymore.

Dude showed great talent when he returned after his suspension when Rha was around, but he really couldn’t stay off drugs. Then he blew his chance again.

even though you hurt our team with your drug issues then the redskins which i could care less about, i do hope he has gotten help and is on the road to a better life even if its not in football. im sure when you wake up one day and realize you just threw away millions of dollars, theres nothing anyone can say to make him feel worse than he does especially if he has to get a regular 8-5 like the rest of us. who wouldnt love to get paid for staying in shape and studying football for a living

Talent and skills > character and integrity.
This is the nfl, hell Pacman Jones still has a job.

I’m happy to see that the comments section isn’t littered with “just legalize it already” or “it’s just pot” to make Jackson’s severe inability to get control of his life into a political forum for their own agenda.
Jackson doesn’t need the NFL, he may need help, but he definitely needs to help himself.

You guys are ridiculous!!! You don’t even know him personally as I do. EVERYBODY has done things in their life that they regret. Shame on you people for judging that man. You have no clue what kind of person he is and how amazing he is off the field. I would hate for your employers to fire you. Some of you are at home with a drinking problem. Some of you beat your wife because you’re insecure and punks! Some of you don’t work. I could keep going. Tanard is a great guy and a man of God. YOU DONT KNOW HIS STORY!!!! Look at your story!!!!!
