As much as I’d love Gennon to do well (and hope he does). The last thing we need in my opinion is a QB controversy caused by inflated numbers from a PRESEASON performance.
…or…heck maybe that is what Freeman needs…but preseason wonders and numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt…I hope fans remember that…

M.Bruno:
There is no controversy. Freeman is the starter, barring injury.

FYI..I have never been a Roy Cummings fan. He is extremely biased.

I’m looking forward to the air show, but the ground show could be just as good with Leonard, Hillis and James
then “60 yard bomb to Owusu” and then all the cheers and confetti when Glennon drops soft touch passes over the middle for another couple TD’s.
OH YEAH!!!
parade?

The title should be “It’s not all about Glennon”…..Granted, Glennon performance is important….but it is also about.
Means, Spence, Gholson, James, Melvin, Banks, Owusu, Crabtree, Carimi and a host of other players including Dimke.
Lets not get so caught up in the QB sitiuation with our first preseason game that we miss the multiple position battles for a roster spot.

@robert
Agree…title should be “Its not all about Glennon”……we have so many other roster spot/position battles to look at, so lets not get caught up on the QB position with the first preseason game.

And all this from robert who has yet to see him play. I hope he doesn’t let you down robert. Seeing how you expect at some point in the season he will replace Freeman even without seeing him throw one pass yet.
You remind me of me back in 1987 with Vinny. Course Vinny was a #1 draft pick and Heisman trophy winner. Poor bastard might have won a ring had the Bucs not selected him.

P.S. do you want me to get Glennon’s autograph for you after the game?
August 7th, 2013 at 1:40 pm
@ 87…..
you and walter need to chill. Every time you post it’s targeting me like little children.
not that it bothers me….but it does nothing for the conversation.
you can continue if you like, but this will be my last response to you if you chose to do so.

Well, As we all know that Jfro-6pak “rollercoaster” has let us down, it could be fun to see what Glennon “The Stork” can do. As I have never seen the kid throw a ball in any game yet.

“You remind me of me back in 1987 with Vinny” Said 1987
Robert, he just said you remind him of him.
Take your panties off and put some big boy pants on little girl.
If you are going to talk smack, don’t cry when someone comes back at you.

thanks for your input 238. you’re clearly too tough for me.

Just from some of the video you can tell that Glennon has a rifle for an arm. I would like to see him progress just so we could carry only two QB’s. We could use that extra spot for other needy positions. I can’t help but think if Glennon does well that we will hear fans like robert clamour for Glennon to start and try to create a controversy. I know Joe and the organization keep saying Freeman is the man but if Glennon does well it will fuel the Freeman detractors to scream for Glennon louder.
With this hanging over the franchise at the start of the regular season it can’t be a good problem to have, even though they may say it doesn’t matter, it can split a locker room. How is it a good thing to have your starting QB constantly looking over his shoulders all the time? I question Dominik for doing this in the last year of Freemans contract. This is a move they could have addressed after the 2013 season. The Ravens didn’t even do that to Flacco last year. They knew it would have been a distraction.
I want Mike Glennon to do well but not at the expense of creating more of a QB controversy, after a couple of preseason games, this close to the start of the regular season. For those who say the preseason won’t matter, let’s wait and see Friday morning how many Freeman detractors scream for Glennon after his first preseason game.

All Glennon has to do is play his best. Just focus on his assignments, don’t throw picks by forcing the ball into coverage and be consistent.
Nope, nothing at all is riding on this game.
August 7th, 2013 at 4:04 pm
A good franchise doesn’t bow to the whims of fans. They do what they feel is best for the team….
Let people scream for Glennon? SO what? Who is that really gonna hurt? Freeman? If he is that mentally fragile we dont need him anyways.
You really do seem awfully worried about Glennon playing well enough to take Free’s job. Lol

No one is going to scream for Glennon before his first pre-season game except those like Robert and his henchmen who want so much for Freeman to be replaced. Been through a lot of pre-season wonders here who fell flat on their face when the real games began. From Randy “Why Not Minot” Hedberg who played well against the then Baltimore Colts (yes my youthful posters the Colts were once in Baltimore) to Jerry Golstyne, our fans have often given too much credit for lighting it up against teams with no real game plan to stop them. What a dream job the back-up QB is. Find me one of those gigs Robert the “Head Hunter”.
