Greg Schiano Fired Up!
August 28th, 2013Apparently, Bucs fans are not the only ones irritable as the new season is just days away. It seems so too is Bucs commander Greg Schiano.
Per the Twitter feed of Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, who is watching a scant early 30-minute window of practice open to the fourth estate today, Schiano is all over his players to pick up the pace, do things the right way and yes, in so many words, toes on the line.
@RCummingsTBO: Oh, boy is Bucs coach Greg Schiano ever on his game at practice today. We’re seeing and hearing circa 2012 kind of stuff. … Schiano told one player who couldn’t get his blocking technique right: “You’ll find himself back in South Florida” if you can’t get it. … Schiano later yelled at a player during a tackling circuit to “quit running out of bounds.” We haven’t seen this kind of fire in a while.
Cummings also noted Schiano provided strong reinforcement for good plays, patting guys on the helmet and offering loud encouragement.
For a Bucs team that has looked listless through three preseason games, maybe it was time for Schiano to break out the big stick?
Joe just loves this kind of coaching. Get your job done or get your arse back to South Florida!

Toes on the line…..or in Carl Nicks’ case….Toe on the line.
Crack the whip and instill some fear & respect. Those who claim that NFL players are grown men who know their jobs and are paid professionals just don’t understand teamwork & the discipline necessary to achieve greatness.
Just like the military….it takes discipline even with grown men who are paid.
We got rid of attitude problems like Talib, Winslow & Wright but even with Buccaneer Men…you have to keep at it.

Hahaha, Get em Coach!
See, he wants to see them do good and play right and gets on them when they dont…..hmmm, sounds like me and some others here when we get on Josh!

lol, Scotty. I had to watch it on a small screen when it was live…even though I have a large widescreen monitor….so watching it on my big screen tv just makes it more enjoyable, especially when watching individual players.

Schiano is right. The problem this preseason has been a lack of fire. Looks like some guys are taking his toned-down approach compared to last season for granted and they need a wake-up call. He acted the same way in the Falcons game to end last season and it worked beautifully. Light a fire under their lackadaisical asses, coach.

If he isn’t yelling at you, and you’re on the bubble, you might as well start updating the resume at this point.

Love hearing this. We definately need a spark out there. Let’s roll into the regular season with some momentum!

Its a stressful time for coaches and staff with the final roster cuts coming. Saying goodbye to players you’d like to keep leaves zero tolerance for those who will make the roster slacking off.

Wow,
Guess the crappy blocking will finally get fixed or you will be out of a job.

MadMax Says:
“See, he wants to see them do good and play right and gets on them when they dont…..hmmm, sounds like me and some others here when we get on Josh!”
Except josh is actually doing well, except for that fumble.
Had recievers not dropped 4 easy catches in the last game he would have had around a 115% rating. That’s why Schiano says Josh is doing well.

There were some droppped catches along with some horrid overthrows….no doubt Bonzai. Glennon couldve had 2 more receptions also…one was right in Wrights hands.
