“Champs On 3”
July 29th, 2013It’s hard to imagine a Glory Days Bucs fan wouldn’t get a grin out of this NFL Films video.
Apparently caught up in the training camp spirit, NFL.com rolled out this video of a mike’d up Chucky at 2003 training camp.
Chris Simms seems to have had a much tougher road than Mike Glennon.

This is gold! I can’t even imagine that the Raheem era practices were remotely close to this atmosphere and terminology.
July 29th, 2013 at 7:59 pm
No doubt Drew, that gave me some serious goose bumps, coach Gruden knew what the hell he was doing, Raheem was a joke, what were the Glazers thinking!
July 29th, 2013 at 8:01 pm
I don’t care if Chucky was lucky….I don’t care if it was Dungy’s team….I will be forever grateful for Jon Gruden & our precious SB Victory.
Many teams don’t get there & when they do, they don’t win.
When we got our chance….we tasted VICTORY.
THANK YOU JON!!!

Anybody ever notices how close Schiano’s voice sounds like Grudens voice? To me they sound very similar. I’m tone deaf anyway.
July 29th, 2013 at 8:34 pm
I’m with all of you… I don’t care how they got it done, I’m just glad they did. Provided me with the BEST experience of my life (and debt that took a while to pay off… lol). I will never forget that weekend in San Diego, the NFL Experience, and Qual-Comm Stadium that incredible Sunday. Thank you Buccaneers, thank you Jon Gruden, Sapp, Brooks, Barber, Lynch, Alstott, etc. etc. After all those years of ridicule from other fans, that one game made it all worthwhile.
July 29th, 2013 at 8:38 pm
He went to the playoff with Chris Simms as QB. If that is not offensive genius, I don’t know what is.
July 29th, 2013 at 8:41 pm
For those who didn’t notice, Raheem is in this video, and Shaun King gets praise from Gruden.
July 29th, 2013 at 8:45 pm
Plus added 10 new players or someone once told me like 13 new players to the offense prior to the SB season. So it was part Dungy’s team and part Gruden’s. Also added my cousin a LS as that’s always important too. LOL Never realized how important a long snapper is until that season my cousin played, I watched every damn snap.
July 29th, 2013 at 8:52 pm
That’s why having a good RB is so important. Half the plays are simply “Martin run left”, “Martin run right”, and “Martin up the middle”. 🙂
July 29th, 2013 at 9:01 pm
@Theodore …yes and all this talk about Freeman this and Freeman that in the offseason. When all that matters is Dougie.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:19 pm
@ Buc Realist
We didn’t go to the playoffs with Chris Simms….this was a video from Summer 03…..after the Superbowl
You need to brush up on you Buc facts…..
Are you really a Buc fan or what?
***Please note that I didn’t call you an idiot like others***
July 29th, 2013 at 9:30 pm
^^^ LOL
July 29th, 2013 at 9:31 pm
@TampaBaybucfan – Hate to break it to you, but we did go to the playoffs with Chris Simms. Should have won the game, too.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:35 pm
We went 7-9 in 2003 Joe how did we make the playoffs?
July 29th, 2013 at 9:36 pm
@Joe….not in ’03…..it wan’t until 05….
July 29th, 2013 at 9:37 pm
Yes, but the_Buc_Realist never mentioned a year. Not sure why you assumed
July 29th, 2013 at 9:38 pm
video must be from 04 then?
July 29th, 2013 at 9:40 pm
Okay but in your article you said the video was from 03 and Simms was not even on the team yet.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:43 pm
Or was he 3rd string? Now I’m confused.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:45 pm
Simms was drafted in 2003
July 29th, 2013 at 9:45 pm
Wait not 3rd string he was drafted in 04…thanks google. Joe your article is wrong.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:46 pm
Poor Joe, dealing with so many readers who can’t read
July 29th, 2013 at 9:47 pm
Jimminy Christmas, Simms was drafted in ’03
July 29th, 2013 at 9:48 pm
Okay 2003 then S.O.B. this is confusing. Your right and I’m wrong damn you google!
July 29th, 2013 at 9:50 pm
LOL @Jimminy Christmas…I say that all the time since Gruden used to say it.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:52 pm
Tequila and blogging do not mix well. I should stick to A.M. blogging only.
July 29th, 2013 at 9:56 pm
Joe….Buc Realist needs all the support he can get.
Please note that I didn’t call him an idiot like others do.
Nevertheless….I’m not quite sure Gruden is such an offensive genius.
His superbowl defense scored 21 pts.
Too bad he didn’t get to manage Shaun King
“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”
July 29th, 2013 at 10:00 pm
Please note that I didn’t call him an idiot like others do.
^^^ please note that was what I was LOL’ing about
July 29th, 2013 at 10:06 pm
@ Buc 1987
I’m so glad you noticed I didn’t call Buc Realist an idiot.
I cut him some slack because its possible he just can’t help it…
July 29th, 2013 at 11:47 pm
Then let’s just call Gruden a motivation genuis then, because I never saw anything innovative in any of his offenses as a Bucs coach. May have been an offensive genuis for other teams just not ours.
July 30th, 2013 at 7:41 am
What ever happened to Simms and Galloway? Steve Duemig guaranteed that they would be superstars after they left the Buc’s. He constantly harped on the fact that Gruden was unfair to them.
July 30th, 2013 at 7:56 am
I am become death, destroyer of championship caliber football teams…
