“As Tough As They Come”
July 23rd, 2013Raheem Morris used to call Adrian Clayborn “BoyDog,” half man/half beast.
And Clayborn played his rookie season like a German Shepard in a K-9 unit (a unit of one, unfortunately.) Clayborn’s motor was stunning, never letting up as he learned the pro game and led the Bucs in sacks.
Clayborn lost nearly all of last season to a blown knee, but nearly every piece of chatter out of One Buc Palace pegs Clayborn as a man who has transformed his body (now a Rottweiler?) and is drooling to attack offensive linemen and quarterbacks.
Speaking tonight on WDAE-AM 620, Greg Schiano stood strong for his defensive line and told Steve Duemig that Clayborn is “as tough as they come.”
Schiano also raved again about backup DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim and praised Gerald McCoy emerging as not just a Pro Bowler but a leader.
Many believe the Bucs’ defensive line is a major question mark and a weakness. It certainly seems like Schiano disagrees.

if Clayborn stays healthy , he could be pro bowl material..the dudes has a relentless motor can’t wait to see him this year ..

Tough as they come? The guy’s a freaking manimal. A healthy AC lined up next to a healthy GMC, spells disaster for opposong QB’s!

I’m getting goosebumps thinking of Claiborne chasing down Brees and Bowers catching him on the other side….YYYYEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clayborn.
I believe he will dominate this year, but he still has to prove he deserves props. I love the guy. I just want accountability. Props given when props earned.

I’m really glad to hear he’s healing well, our training staff headed by Todd is the best in the league.
And Dan Teo played pretty damn well as a backup last year. He’s got a good swim move and a surprising burst. Not the most consistent guy, but he adds some good depth in an area we’re thin at.

AC is a beast. Im looking for an AC, Gohlston, McCoy,and bowers combo.Ah that would be amazing.

Lot’s of catchy superlatives for Clayborn and all, but I think his technique is underdeveloped. He was completely transparent before the injury last year.
I hold hope that he will be a solid player, as he should be. He’s lining up next to GMC

Gee, all of this anticipation to see a player who, when drafted, some thought his right arm was just a noodle hanging there and bemoaned the choice. I’m anxious to see him and Bowers finally in the line up together entering their third year.

couldnt help but think of ManBearPig. half man/half bear/half pig…….nevermin
but Im just as excited for Clayborns’ return as most fans are excited for Revis’ return. after all that missed time, he’s gonna come off that line like a caged beast.

Ah, those German Shepards. So good at arding sheep. SHEPHERD. They herd.
