“A Number One And A Half”
July 25th, 2013Warren Sapp told a national TV audience today that Mike Williams earned the $15 million guaranteed in the contract extension he signed yesterday.
NFL Network cameras caught Williams making a diving catch of a Josh Freetman bomb this morning (3:00 mark of this linked video), and that sparked the detailed Williams conversation.
Sapp called Williams a “number one and a half.” And Sapp explained that Williams is a tireless worker who overcame NFL defenses catching up to him during his sophomore season of 2011.
Joe definitely recommends the link above, especially for fans craving an extended, raw look inside the first training camp practice.

Williams is no Nicks, Jackson, or Megatron. I do blame his height and body for it. However Williams has ball catching skills, he just makes remarkable catches. He is a fun player to watch every Sunday.

I think 1 & 1/2 is just about right. Mike plays well when he has great partners on the field. If we had threats at TE & or 3rd reciever, then we would see something really special from Williams. I think working against Revis & Golston & to some degree, Banks will help all of our recievers.

I would call him a half of a number 1 receiver with VJ being a full number 1 receiver. in time though he will get even better.
man everyone at traing camp seems to have a fire lit under their a$ses. even the coaches are running around. its a good thing to see.

See that all the RB’s are gripping that ball high & tight already on the first day of camp.

As a long time happy Sprint customer, I am frustrated at not being able to watch the NFL Networks video feeds, it is bad enough that I can’t get Sunday ticket as I am not a Satellite subscriber. Thanks NFL Network.
