Is Belichick Learning From Schiano?
May 8th, 2013The question in the headline may seem absurd. But NFL Network insider and former Patriots beat writer Ian Rapoport says the Greg Schiano-Bill Belicheat relationship may cut both ways.
Perhaps Belicheat is obsessed with Schiano’s player development methods, leading to him again collect Rutgers players this offseason (three in the draft)?
In this NFL Network video, Rapoport references the relationship between the two coaches and their plans for more joint practices and consultation.
“Don’t be surprised if Belichick is doing this so he can be a little bit better, too,” Rapoport said.

All pure speculation. Though if it is true that says something IF True.

Bill Bellichamp is the man, and he is devoted to football.
One thing about Bill Bellichamp, he is not too proud to learn from all football minds.
I liken Bill’s approach to improving, to that of having an open mind of fan forums. To dismiss an opinion, point of view, or the opportunity to learn by observing another’s behaivors; you are just narrowing your line of sight and falling behind the pack.
Collaboration is the key, and with Bellichamp it is adapt or die.
Call him a cheater all you want Joe, but the man can flat out win.
4 super bowls, numerous coaches emerging from his tutelage, and HOF career should be his moniker.
Laughable to see you call the best HC in modern NFL a cheater, so what HE PAID HIS DUES. Turn over a new leaf, could ya?
Also, Dom has “rock star” for ZERO PLAYOFFS, all based on media… BS.
Lol, Bellichamp could coach my team any day, the guy is HOF coach.
May 8th, 2013 at 11:37 am
HUGE difference though….Schiano doesnt have “cheat” attached to his name….oh the lovely sight of Karma in watching the Giants take them down twice in the SB! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
May 8th, 2013 at 11:39 am
Not saying he doesn’t win, but he only won 3 super bowls, but none since spygate.
May 8th, 2013 at 11:44 am
Sneedy16,
Bellichamp won with the Giants and Parcells too.
He has gotten to the SB twice in the last 5 years, more than we can say.
Shoot, we can’t even get 16 MEANINGFUL GAMES PER SEASON.
At least Bellichamp gets to the playoffs consistently, and his draft module is now being emulated.
I understand, Bellichamp cheated, but HE PAID HIS DUES. HE PAID UP THE DRAFT PICKS.
Karma this, karma that, the man wins games, and if anyone on this thread deserves a “Rock Star” moniker it is BILLY BELLICHAMP.

So go pull for the muth f n patriots then… obviously you love them and hate us… wth are you doing here?
May 8th, 2013 at 11:51 am
When he can win a SB without cheating then the stigma will go away.

Wow, stevek, cry me a river man. Just get over it. No one said you weren’t allowed to have an opinion. That is something you fabricated all by yourself. You are just looking foolish now.
Also, “Bellichamp” has had just a teeny bit more time to build his team. Not to mention happening to stumble on a Hall of Fame quarterback.

A Mind is like a Parachute. It always works best, when open!
Great Coaches know this.
I am sure the Belichick – Schiano Relationship is beneficial to both parties.

MadMax Says:
“So go pull for the muth f n patriots then… obviously you love them and hate us… wth are you doing here?”
Grow up an learn proper grammar, lol. At first I thought those were typos…then I realized you really talk like that.
I have a bit of a problem with your attitude. Maybe there is a past history between you and Sneedy, but I saw nothing at all wrong withwhat he said. He gave credit where credit is due. That doesnt make him less of a Bucs fan.
I can only hope that Schiano turns the Bucs into the next Patriots. Bill may have cheated a little, but that’s isn’t all that went into winning those rings…in fac, they played very little role in it.
Bottom line, Bill is the EST coach in the NFL. That Pats have both offense and defense…one of few teams to accomplish that. You may not like him, but no one can deny his ability to coach better than most coaches.
And as I’ve said before, Schiano is like a cleaner version of Bill.

I always get a laugh out of grammar police douchebags whom can’t spell or punctuate to save their own lives.
Bill obviously is taking something from Schiano. No other reason for the joint practices, meetings, and abundance of Rutgers draft picks. Good for Bill. I view it as confirmation that Greg is the HC we’ve needed for a long time.

Stevek, I’m with you on Coach Belichick. I love the guy and Schiano couldn’t have found a better confidant in the NFL fraternity. I think that Schiano is very smart, thinks about what he says before he says it, and commands a room with his presence. The connection between the 2 has paid dividends for both our teams. The Pats are hated by most but they are always a top tier team, even when injured, or playing lesser talents, they always manage to get to the next level. I would never cheer for the Pats but I respect the hell out of them, their owner and head Coach. Hearing that the relationship is a two way street is all the better.
I truly hope Schiano is building a team that will compete like the Pats, and so far so good in my book.
May 8th, 2013 at 5:24 pm
Dan, hang in there brother, you’ll get where you want to be one day. Keep working hard and spend wisely. Don’t lose that passion either.
