Donald Penn Wants To Abuse “Lil DEs”
April 2nd, 2013Donald Penn has fought Jared Allen, dodged Aqib Talib swinging a deadly weapon at his head, fended off unsubstantiated cheap shots from the Tampa Bay Times and come out smiling and playing hard.
Penn is never one to shy away from confrontation. In fact, he embraces them on the football field.
For those yearning for tough-guy football talk, Penn delivered recently, via his Twitter account. Penn gave an inspiring Twitter welcome to the Bucs’ newest tight end, Tom Crabtree.
@DPenn70 – @TCrabtree83 welcome 2 the squad can’t wait 2 double the shit out these Lil DEs
It’s chatter like this that makes Joe yearn for a real football game.

I love Penns old school football mentality. Never shy away from contact of any kind. Lets hope this Oline stays healthy all year because they could be nothing but DOMINATE!

Love it how Jared Allen was our bitch this past game, yeah he had one sack. But Penn had him in check all game, martin blew threw him in a TD run and also pushed him over for a TD. Penn and Nicks together oh i can imagine all the smack talk going on.

This is exactly why I love Penn – reminds me of a Rugby Prop!

This is why I F*CKING LOVE our LT and wouldn’t replace him with anyone in the NFL! He’s got a working man’s attitude!

Don Penn is awesome, the most underrated tackle in the NFL, IMHO.
I thought Aquib Talib only smacked Cab Drivers ?
That took a lot of Balls to take a swing at Don Penn, if he did ?

Would the Bucs sign another place kicker? Hmm…

Talib swung a helmet at Penn in practice. A helmet could be considered a deadly weapon.

So, Dom signed Nick Kaeding and former Giant Steve Smith. I understand competition at every position. It just seems like they are glossing over a few important positions, while overstocking others.

Or maybe the off-season isn’t over yet…
April 2nd, 2013 at 1:21 pm
Absolutely, it’s not over. It’s just an interesting way to go things. Gambling on your most needed positions, in hopes the players will still be available. While choosing to stock up on already solid positions.
It’s an interesting way to do business, being risky. Like signing high draft picks with known injury concerns. Or putting all your eggs in a basket for a guy coming off a torn ACL. It may work for him. But, he takes a ton of risks, more than most GMs. If it works, kudos to him. I guess, with that record as GM, he must think he has nothing to lose. Except more losing.

I wonder if he will get fined for talking too hard. . .

I like the Steve Smith signing, the guy obviously fits in Sullivans scheme having a 100+ catch season when he was with the giants. Im sure he is very excited about playing for him again which is added motivation for him to prove he still got it. I believe Coach Sullivan pushed for Smith knowing what he has in him. If he plays nearly as well as he did that 09 season, our offense just got more explosive.

It may not be the kind of signing that alot of you are hoping to see, but I am pleased to see we are making solid moves!! Go Bucs
